It’s possible they're not lying. My display failed on New Years Eve, they ordered the part on the 4th Jan and apparently it hasn't come into stock yet.
My appointment is booked for the 25th, and meanwhile my car's A/C is stuck on 24 hours a day - and so are the seat heaters. Well done Tesla.
I should probably have realised this, but given the time that has elapsed I thought the upgrade would have been available in Australia by now, but it is still not.
Well, I dropped off for service at Alexandria today and got a loan car, no stress. Not a Tesla, but it's got four wheels and it goes, so that's good enough for me, after seeing everyone else's experiences!
Hi all, now that the twin crises of we are nearly bankrupt and we have more cars to deliver than we know how to are both over (I think), does anyone know if the service centres have gone back to granting Teslas as loaners or are we still getting ICEs?
Do we care about ‘spotted’ posts? If we do, I met a white P- 4433XX and its owner yesterday in Western Sydney. He said he has only just received it a day or so before - very non-specific, I know. He was an early reserver, non-Tesla owner.
It seems clear that a certain class of older car has had its supercharge speed throttled. It's likely this is to save Tesla paying out battery warranty claims. What's disturbing is that the company would do this with no notification or justification made to affected owners. It's as if they hoped...
It happens. I somehow managed to go from ‘I am very happy with my S’ to ‘I may trade in my S for a 3’ to ‘I will trade in my S for another S’ without any rational thought taking place.
At one of my recent services I was offered a Holden which I declined. The service rep told me they had to sell all the Tesla loaners to get out of the red. He even had to call one owner and say, 'that loan car you're driving, I've just sold it, I'm going to have to meet you somewhere and swap it...
More data - not that we necessarily need it - I drove my 2015 85D to St Leonards this morning, inputting the Supercharger into navigation so the battery could pre-condition.
Left 7:12 am, temp showing 8º. Travelled 42km in 1hr 10m avg speed 36km/h.
Arrived 8:22am, temp 12º. Arrival SoC 30%...
It doesn't say Tom Tom on the map, and I'm parked at work so I can't check the IC. But given that I can rotate the maps on the MCU and the street names stay horizontal, rather than rotating with the map, makes me assume that it's a vector-based map.
Edit: Yes in Sydney
Bought a BMW i3 to tide me over. Then traded that for a used S 85D when the kids started getting too big. Still have my reservation but probably won’t act on it.
I have used and would recommend Sydney Airport Parking | Sydney AirPark (owner Jimmy). Doesn't have EVSE but does have 240V sockets and is happy to leave your car plugged in while you're away. This was before Park on King opened so there weren't any dedicated EV choices available.
I have a RHD Model S and can’t get past the ‘shove it forward’ stage. There is no space between the unit and the front of the yacht floor, on the right hand side. Oddly, on the left hand side there is enough space to fit a few fingers between unit and vehicle, but the right side is nearly flush...
Not sure actually. I spent a week driving a P100D and to be perfectly honest I preferred the driving feel of the BMW i3. The Tesla was obviously crazy fast off the mark, but the Beemer was no slouch either and was more fun around corners. Also so much easier to park. I only switched because the...
Agree, but I don’t think it is just the Model 3 that will cause price reductions in the next couple years. I just sold my BMW i3 (today in fact) against future price drops, and bought a cheap (relatively) 2015 Model S 85D for $98k.
