    Ear pain/Pressure help

I installed the silicone tubing, 5/16" OD from HomeDepot. I bought 2 10' sections. They didn't have 20' but you won't be able to insert 1 piece and go all the around in one go. I did it in 2 and some people do it in 3. I used soapy water to lubricate and a funnel to pour it forward down the...

    Model Y Suspension Advice

I'm planning on getting Konis from TireRack. However, I checked with them and they don't have any installers who work on Teslas in the San Francisco Bay Area. They recommended talking to Tesla. Has anyone used Tesla to install third party shocks? Anyone know anyone in the Bay Area? LA? (I need...

Which Model Y AWD would you get? (Factory/Engine/Options/Etc)

You switched your MY from stock 245/45 R19 to the M3 235/45R18 wheels+tires?

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

30.03". Hmmm. Even the MPP lift kit only increases that to 29.5" diameter.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

The Model 3 Gen 2 Aero rims are 18" diameter, 8.5" wide with a 40mm offset and a 750kg load capacity.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

@Discount Tire, for the Model Y I see 235/55R18 XL recommended when switching down to 18" rims. However, Hankook doesn't make an Ion Evo in exactly that size. Would there be any problems putting the Evo SUV 235/65 R18 on a Model 3 gen2 Aero rim for the Model Y? I'm just looking for summer...

    18" wheel on model Y

I have a 2024 MYLR with 19" Geminis wearing OEM 255/45R19s. I'm looking for comfort. There are some takeoff M3 Highland Photons with 235/45R18 Hankooks available. That seems like just less tire. I can imagine it might be more efficient but definitely less comfortable. So is the only way to...

Which Model Y AWD would you get? (Factory/Engine/Options/Etc)

The curb weight for the MYLR is 4,398 lbs. The curb weight for the M3LR is 4,034 lbs. That 750 kg load rating is really there for worst case with trailering which I won't be doing. But this guy covers it in more depth...

Which Model Y AWD would you get? (Factory/Engine/Options/Etc)

I'd have gotten the RWD LFP if it was available in the US. So I instead got an Inventory MYLR with a toe hitch with the standard 19" Gemini wheels. I'm looking to swap those Geminis for 18" M3 Photons.

    Model Y Suspension Advice

The Model 3 Photon wheels are 18X8.5J offset 38. The Model Y Gemini wheels are 19X9.5J offset 45. Would that swap work for comfort?

    Model Y Suspension Advice

BTW, this guy calls out part numbers. So I think Tesla Service was bullshitting me about no change. It's possible I got an MYP suspension.

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

Koni packages them into a kit for just about every car … except Tesla. But I think that's just a typo/oversight. Hopefully Koni gets back to you. https://www.koni-na.com/en-US/NorthAmerica/Products/Cars/1165-Special-Active-Lowering-Kit(Red)/

    Model Y Suspension Advice

So I took my MYLR to Tesla Service this morning. They said that my Y was as God intended it which was to put hair on your chest. They also said it only had 500 miles on it and that the suspension needed to break in (but when pressed said that wouldn't change much at 5000). They said MYP and...

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

I live in Oakland and test drove down at the factory in Fremont where the roads nearby are excellent; Oakland, not so much. Still the ride on the test drive was much better at stops and turns. Yes, the S drove well but this Y is absolutely bad, not relatively bad. I've driven a lot of cars over...

    Model Y Suspension Advice

My 02/24 Fremont LR is not very comfortable. I have an appointment at Tesla Service tomorrow. Maybe it's the factory alignment. Dunno.

I bought a Fremont LR but if an LFP RWD had been available, I'd have bought that.

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

I have an 02/24 Fremont LR and it is harsh. I feel everything. I guess the first thing I'll do is schedule Service but I want to just cut to the chase and install Konis.
  20. E

Wiper Blade Replacement Tesla Model Y

I got Michelin wipers from CostCo for the S. They fit, sort of. But I literally had to tape them to retain them. Google CostCo wipers and you won't find happy people. I'll go with Tesla wipers for the Y when the time comes.

BTW big changes in 2024 Model Y vs 2023 earlier Model Y

2018 must have been terrible because my 02/24 Fremont Y is harsh. I'm investigating just immediately swapping on Konis.

I hated creep but I would want the choice because especially on an EV, it's just software.

02/24 and I picked it up at Fremont Delivery (literally at the factory) on 3/28.
  25. E

    Manufacture Date & Delivery Date

I know my MYLR was manufactured in Fremont in 2024 from the VIN. However, there doesn't seem to be any information on the driver's door frame about which month. Did Tesla stop doing this?

new Tesla Model 3 18" Photon Wheels - load rating?

In addition the Photon's 710kg is up from the Aero's 700kg.

    Model 3 wheels for a model Y?

So Discount Tire quoted $500 to install new MY compatible TPMS sensors. The Tesla TPMS sensors are $300/4. Swapping an M3 Aero with an MY Gemini that'd be $200 for the labor. Is that right, translated into loonies?

    Comfort Suspension Details

New 2024 MYLR picked up last Thursday. This supposedly has the comfort suspension but the ride seems very harsh. I can feel every crack in the road. Is there any adjustment Service can make or should I look into Konis?
  29. E

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

I just picked up a 2024 MYLR. The suspension seems … harsh. Is this supposed to be the "comfort" suspension? If this is comfort, should I be looking at Konis?

Free supercharging transfer - anyone do it?

It was helpful to know where in the Tesla app the transfer was supposed to be marked so that I could explain what was missing. I messaged my sales advisor and the guy who was handling the trade in. Then someone else followed up and called me. We worked through it. It's marked on the Trade In...

Free supercharging transfer - anyone do it?

I am trading in and I received/accepted my trade in offer. The app isn't saying anything about the free supercharging transfer. My Serramonte sales advisor says and I quote: You will need to set it up through the Tesla app. We are not able to set it up for you here. I'm pushing delivery back...

I'm in the middle of purchasing a Model Y to replace my 2015 Model S with free supercharging. The app doesn't mention the free supercharging transfer. When+how does this happen?

USA MY RWD has soft limited LR battery!

USA MY RWD has soft limited LR battery!

Did you get the $7500 Federal Tax Rebate? I'm an existing S owner with free Supercharging. They're offering free paint or free interior color choices. But that's it. Anything I don't know about?

When both key fobs suddenly won't work (with possible fix)... 2017 Model S

It started working again. I think the problem was caused by interference from the next car over in my parking garage. It is recently new and now recently gone. It seems sort of like the Mt Wilson case mentioned in other threads.

When both key fobs suddenly won't work (with possible fix)... 2017 Model S

Holding my FOB in the middle top of the rear window and pressing OPEN reliably gets the car open. But it doesn't get the car to start.
  39. E

When both key fobs suddenly won't work (with possible fix)... 2017 Model S

Unsurprisingly, the problem is the same for the charge port. But I can also open the charge port from the app. Also, this was out and about at a Supercharger. So the problem is NOT local to the garage.

When both key fobs suddenly won't work (with possible fix)... 2017 Model S

So this happened to me as well. I couldn't OPEN the car with the FOB. I swapped in new batteries into both FOBs and neither worked. Then I saw this thread and changed the wheel size, reset, changed it back, reset. The reset actually takes longer than you think. The car is up and running and then...

2023 Model Y RWD vin assignment

I'm upgrading to LR anyways. I really wanted LFP and the RWD in the US isn't getting that. So it's LR for me.

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

So the RWD doesn't appear to have an LFP battery. So I'm going to get a MYLR off local Inventory. I've already signed the FUSC PDF in blood. Am I going to have any problems applying this to the MYLR?

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

I think the big difference is that after you've accepted your car and the free supercharging transfer is complete you can't sell the car and then the new owner gets free supercharging.
