I completely agree. The auto industry needs a change, sales people are less and less relevant given all the research one can do now. I found my buying experience for my S (all online) amazing. I never want to buy a car from a traditional dealer again.

I get water spots on the runners inside doors. This also happens with my wife’s 2019 Audi Q7 so I think this is quite common. I have no complaint of my 2018 S 100D build quality. Sure would I like the paint to be a bit tougher - yes but other than that it is pretty sound.

Up to 100amps on HPWC - even less amps the HPWC is more convenient .

On another note but related...it isn’t just the raw tech it’s the experience. Tesla has really nailed that. I have been in, driven and experienced a lot of Mercedes, BMW’s and Audi’s - none of them have the in vehicle experience tesla does. The map experince alone is so much better than these...

I agree you don’t need a HPWC - it is quite convenient. I have one and even the convenience of the form factor (mounted nicely with a place to hang wand) as well as additional amps makes it pretty nice. If you can swing a HPWC I would do it. Sure you’ll be charged in an hour or so usually but...

As a new Model S owner I used summon today for the first time in a real practical situation. I parked in a place with no one next me but when I got back to my car - cars were on either side kind of tight. I used summon to back it out and it’s was really awesome.

I picked up my new S 100D this weekend in Dedham. Superchargers were full! Glad to hear they are moving the showroom...The location next to the Hooters just isn't in-line with Tesla in my opinion.

Took delivery of my 100D today at the Dedham MA service center. Nice experience, low key and efficient. Car was delivered impeccable - solid black and I couldn’t find any swirls at all. The drive home was great. It is the best car on the planet, hands down. I do have a pending software...

As others have said, Tesla just doesn’t operate like a traditional car company. When you have more demand than supply, life is quite grand as they say. The key metrics appear the be focused on revenue, profit (or loss) and deliveries. They do talk about “sales” which one can equate to orders...

I would confirm production date. There are a number of tweaks that have happened in the last 3-6 months (like new MCU) that are pretty valuable. Maybe you don't care about those things (or maybe it was produced in the last month or so).

Bumping this thread... I am going to take delivery in a few weeks, and have a a driveway with no garage (at home). During some part of the spring / early summer (like now) I get honeydew on my car from tree's above. It washes off fine, though I was thinking of using the car cover to deal with...

We are all counting on it being right...a lot of us that ordered in the last 30 days appear to be in production for an end of June-ish delivery.
