Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

Here's Why the Glass Roof on the Tesla Model 3 Sometimes Looks Orange I believe Tesla stopped shipping with these around Q1 2019.

Very nice picture! Yes, AC and Narrows for sure on the next one, thinking Arches too.

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

Right, it seems low from what I see around here. I gun it every once in awhile, but otherwise drive normally and max regen. Work commute is mainly stop and go, I think that's a factor too. I had the stock 18s on (no covers) for the first 10k miles, but putting on the 19s didn't make THAT much...

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

I've heard great things about ZMR, and we stopped there for a bit on the way from Bryce to Zion to see the animals. Going to stay there next time we head out that way!

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

No problems from the windows opening, maybe because I defrosted and pre-warmed the car for a good amount of time beforehand. The handles did stick a bit so it required more force to push them out.

Very astute observation! I didn't even notice that haha

Destination charger. I read on PlugShare there's a fee to use them, but the front desk was kind enough to not collect. I would have paid though since I wanted a bigger buffer to get to Page.

Count how many Model 3s in this clip

I know the Irvine/OC area has a ton of Model 3s, but this was great to see. I was purposely going slow, waiting for an opening so I could merge into the freeway entrance lane, but making it four in a row (almost 5 with the white one in back) was the icing on the cake.

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

Forgot to set it when we headed out, but kept an eye on it during the long stretches. Around 380-420 in inclement weather and elevation gains, 270-320 otherwise. Temp at 68.

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

Thanks! Goodyear, don't remember specs though. They're definitely not snow tires. Being from CA, I was a little worried about driving in it, but just took my time and it was ok.

Winter Road Trip: SoCal to Utah

Wanted to share some pictures and notes from our road trip from Socal to visit Horseshoe Bend, Bryce Canyon, and Zion! Some background: - 2018 LR RWD (April 2018 build) with EAP, 30k total miles and riding on 19 inch wheels. Lifetime efficiency of 220 kWh/mi. Took the car on about half dozen...

    Lifetime Wh/mi

2018 LR RWD At 10k miles, I was at 208 wh/mi with 18s and no aeros. Then I put on aftermarket 19s, and now at 20k miles and 214 wh/mi.

    Yes, matte finish. Thanks!

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Thanks! None of the above though. Pic was taken about 30 mins after a fresh wash and blow dry. Just using two bucket method with chemical guys stuff (foam and wash) and dry with a leaf blower haha. Trying to delay the eventual swirl marks as long as possible. Can't justify a full wrap at...

    LR3 is too efficient

Exactly this. And most of my M-F commuting miles are stop and go freeway traffic under 30mph.

    LR3 is too efficient

This is with 18" and aeros always off. But just put on new 19" wheels from EV so it will slowly creep up.

    Damaged Tesla while in Service

Definitely feel your pain. Here's my thread recounting minor damage caused by service center: Service Center Headlight Replacement Damage My repair appt is coming up soon. A few weeks ago, I got in a set of black wheels from EVwheels but don't want to put them on until after they fix the...

    CA HOV Stickers

Same here. I remember reading about this last year: https://jalopnik.com/la-is-dropping-free-rides-for-clean-air-cars-in-carpool-1825624336 I thought it was going to be implemented in Nov. but looks like it was delayed until Mar.

    Service Center Headlight Replacement Damage

Not sure. I just know they have to take off the bumper to replace the headlight

    Service Center Headlight Replacement Damage

I took my LR Model 3 into the Torrance, California service center to replace the driver-side headlight assembly due to the accent (signature) light strip not working. This is the thin strip of light in the middle of the assembly that appears to be a somewhat common issue, according to many...

How do you carry house keys?

Thanks for everyone's responses! Seems like most are in two camps - smart locks or slim wallet with key ring. My only connected device is an outdoor camera. Still haven't jumped on other smart home stuff (lights, speaker, locks, garage opener, windows, hvac, etc), partly because of all the...

How do you carry house keys?

Ever since I took delivery of the Model 3, I've exclusively used my phone as key. With my previous car, I had my house keys on the same key ring as the car fob. Well, now that I don't have a key fob, and I don't want to carry a separate key ring with my house keys, I just slip it in the inside...

    Let's talk financing rates

Lightstream used Equifax. Logix used Experian.

They did in my case. Beat it by 0.1% according to their offer. Loan docs electronically signed earlier tonight.

    Let's talk financing rates

Got approved with Logix for 1.49% for 36 months. Then used Lightstream's Rate Beat Program to get it down to 1.39%. Found out about Lightstream through this thread so thanks to everyone who shared! Echoing previous posters, loan is unsecured so I chose to have funds deposited directly into my...
