Yeah, I also no longer see the VIN in the cart. But I got an email from my ISA this afternoon saying my car was on track to be delivered and that I should have a delivery date scheduled later this week. So I'm not concerned about it.

I never had the infamous edit button on my order but in general it seems typically to take 3-4 weeks after configuration for a VIN to be assigned. In my case it showed up at 31 days and came the day after I was first contacted by my sales advisor.

They have had 2 years to get their processes/communication up to the standards expected from a world class company. They are simply satisfied with having startup level expectations for those aspects of their business.

You must be easy to make happy because I don't think the processes Tesla has used for managing the Model 3 orders and their customer relationship/communication have been good at all. I think the large backlog of orders has made them arrogant and allowed them to ignore any issues in those processes.

I am noticing that from the delivery lists. I guess one possible explanation is that the car/VIN that was assigned to your order didn't pass inspection and so your delivery is being delayed while the cars for other people who configured after you are passing QI and going straight to delivery.

It's not really a delivery date its just an updated estimate on when the car will be available - could be June 1st or June 30th or they could punt again and push it to July. When I configured on 4/18 the estimate was 4 to 6 weeks which would have put mid to late may.
