FS: Tesla Model X Bosal Hitch and Adapter (Vancouver, BC area)

Asking $500 Canadian dollars. Taken off our 2017 Model X (I installed a permanent hitch and removed this OEM one). The adapter is unused in its original foam padding case. The hitch bar itself is in great condition.

FS: Apex Forged EC-7R with Goodyear F1 Supercar 3R tire for Model 3 (Vancouver, BC area)

Asking $3800 in Canadian dollars. I bought this set from Wheelsco here in Canada in 2021. Wheel size is18X9.5 ET34 5X114.3 64.1 and the finish is brushed aluminum. Tire size is 265-40R18. Used them during the summer of 2021 around town and they've sat in blankets ever since. I've bought...

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

I bought some of the new 18x9.5" ET34 APEX EC-7R Forged Tesla Model 3 Wheels from a supplier here in Canada who agreed to fit 265/40r18 Goodyear Supercar 3's (a 200 tread wear tire) and deliver them to me. It saved me the hassle of driving the bare rims to a tire shop to get tires mounted...

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I got clarification. The A052’s are simply no longer offered in the size I wanted: 265/40r18.

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

A local shop told me today the Advan A052’s are discontinued. I was inquiring about 265/40r18’s. Anyone else hearing this? I see no other evidence of this online...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

To close the circle on this, and to help anyone else who ever wants/needs to source the slider bolts and accompanying hardware for the rear pup brakes, I did manage to get them but only from Brembo directly! I just inquired via the brembo parts website and they responded by giving me Tesla part...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I posted a separate thread but also letting those who follow this one know that APEX is releasing a direct fit forged version of their EC-7 wheels for the Model 3. Email Cory at APEX if you're interested: [email protected]. They're not released yet but are coming soon. APEX sells similarly...

NEW APEX Race Parts 18x9.5" ET34 EC-7R (Forged)

You’d have to ask APEX but similarly sized wheels for BMW fitment are $655 each.

NEW APEX Race Parts 18x9.5" ET34 EC-7R (Forged)

Here's an email exchange from today confirming APEX is releasing a direct fit forged version of their EC-7 wheels for the Model 3. Email Cory at the email below if you're interested: James Wells Dec 27, 2020, 5:27 PM PST I'm in the market for 18x9.5 wheels and love that the EC-7's will work...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

I can't say whether the aeros would fit (but I suspect not). On the 18" Titan 7's i have on for the colder months there's something like 7-10mm of clearance (my visual estimate only!) It's the rear pup brakes that are a tighter fit - I would guess those are closer to 5mm or so clearance.

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

You’re probably right. I was daydreaming and torqued to the 83nm that I believe the caliper bolts get. I believe the slider bolts are supposed to be around 25nm (but they felt a bit tighter than that coming off). It would just be nice to know I can get replacement bolts. I find the parts finder...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

Not my Caliper, but I’ve circled where the bolts attach to the mounting bracket. I thought the caliper glided on the Slider bolts only, and I wasn’t too worried about the mounting bracket.
  14. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

I did look there but I didn’t see the bolts listed. Perhaps you can’t buy them on their own? I’m thinking the service centre is confusing the Caliper mounting lots for the sliding bolts/pins I’m referring to. Would prefer not to drive 1 hour each way just to find that out!
  15. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

Does anyone know the part numbers for the slider bolts on the rear performance brakes? I overtorqued them at first and although they loosened up again I want to get some spares. My local service center claims to have them but they also said both bolts appear to be the same size but I know that’s...

    Front Performance Brembo Calipers

Upgraded to BBK so selling my well cared for Stock front performance calipers (with the stock pads). Pads seem hardly worn. I’m in Canada but will ship anywhere in US. $900 shipped.
  17. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

MMP BBK installed. Very smooth install! With 18” Titan7 TS5’s they fit will good clearance. What do others do to prevent hitting larger calipers with the wheel barrels? Even lightweight Titan7’s are hard to take off perfectly straight. I might start hanging a thin towel over the calipers each time.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

What are the wheels on the other Model 3 pictured here?
  20. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

With the higher brake temps of running laps in a heavy car, i'm thinking more carefully of which lube to use when servicing the calipers and pads. With prior cars, I'd previously just used the same silicone lube on pins and pads not worrying too much about it. Reading up on it, this seems like...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

Have people bought the model s mando rear calipers directly from Tesla, or is there another place to source them from?

    BC and (new) Referral Program

I just had another referral take delivery and I did not receive any additional supercharging miles, so it seems Tesla has tightened up on that.

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

If someone does install the MPP BBK up front, is it a given that the rear rotors have to be upgraded at the same time? I get that the front wheels would be pushed out slightly and the rears wouldn't (by those few mm), but I'm talking more about the heating of the rear rotors and at what point...
  24. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

I appreciate the advice. Factoring into this is the fact that I could no doubt re-sell the stock PUP calipers, rotors, heat shield etc. and recoup a little of the cost of the BBK, further narrowing the cost difference between just upgrading the rotors. I'll mull it over for a bit longer.
  25. J

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

The stock rotors seem like an obvious weak point so i just want to remove them from the equation. The MPP rotors also solve the hub lip issue by extending out by an additional 4mm vs OEM, so that's an added incentive as it opens up wheel options. I'm curious how much the MPP rotors improve the...

    Upgraded To OEM Performance Brakes

I’m sure I need to upgrade the front rotors and pads on my 2018 m3p+ for intended future track use, but unsure how far the performance envelope gets extended if I stick with the stock red Calipers vs going all the way to MPP’s stop tech big brake package. Does anyone familiar have any idea? If...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Yes, I got the 18x8.5. In the end I opted for efficiency by sticking with stock tire specs but I agree the sunken in look isn't the best. (These are my cold weather wheels.)

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I ordered some Titan 7 T-S5’s in 18” from Evasive Motorsports last week. I researched around and settled on those on balance of all factors (no spacers needed, good looks etc). I was supposed to receive tracking info a week ago and despite numerous follow-up emails it’s been radio silence since...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I'm buying a set of the Tesla Titan 7 T-S5 18x8.5 +35 rims from Evasive. Mine is a 2018 M3P+. Tony from Evasive said the recommended tire is 255/40. Would everyone agree with that? I prefer a thicker sidewall and prefer not to leave large wheel well gaps, so wondering if i could go 255/45?

Seen heading towards the U.S./Canadian Border...

I picked up our M3P in Vancouver this week. Truck arrived on Tuesday. Lots of rock chips in the front bumper. I posted about it. My detailer says better to ppf over the damage now rather than try to fix, so not very happy. Will see what Tesla does to compensate. Our MX delivered late 2017 had no...

OBM M3P Delivery in Vancouver, Canada - My paint and alignment issues

Because the multiple rock chips are small, my detailer (the one who’ll be installing the PPF), is saying to leave them and NOT to fill them. Apparently they can easily lift off during the PPF installation process. So, they either respray or compensate some other way. Anyway, having a new car...

OBM M3P Delivery in Vancouver, Canada - My paint and alignment issues

Thought i'd post about my experience picking up our Model 3 Performance in Obsidian Black Metallic earlier this week here in Vancouver, Canada. The location they're using for delivery is outside of the city and the cars are delivered outside, which in rainy Vancouver is problematic! However, i...

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

Wanted to close out this thread with an update on the noise our Model X was making. The fluid flush didn't improve things, so I continued to complain and Tesla finally agreed to replace the FRONT motor (it was their belief that the noise would be coming from the front motor, not the rear). They...

Range mode: quieter in cabin when ON or OFF?

It's not a subtle difference in our car. Cruising along with range mode OFF there's a constant whistle in the background. As soon as I hit the button to turn range mode ON, the whistle drops away. Turn it OFF again and it comes right back. It's driving me insane.
  41. J

Range mode: quieter in cabin when ON or OFF?

I've posted elsewhere about a frustrating whine/whistle that is constantly audible in our 6 month old 75D MX. I'll provide updates on progress with the service centre and escalation process in the other thread, but in driving the car it's become more and more clear that range mode largely takes...

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

Worth mentioning that I had the chance to play with toggling range mode on and off on a quiet road today and the constant pitched whine/whistle clearly went AWAY when range mode was turned ON and I didn’t have my foot on the accelerator pedal. When I pressed the accelerator the noise would come...

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

Yes, did the ride along. That’s when the audio recording was made. The service tech wasn’t sure what it was. Suggested trying different things (fluid change, adjusting cabling etc), so I was left with the impression they’d go under the hood to investigate further, but then nothing happened. It...

    Standalone Autopark?

I found it to be pretty reliable, and my wife really struggles with parallel parking, so definitely something we want. Would gladly pay $1,000 for it on a standalone basis. I’ll talk to our service centre about it the next time we’re in.
  45. J

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

So after much back and forth via the Executive Care team, the Vancouver Service Centre has finally, and begrudgingly it seems, agreed to change the gearbox fluid in an attempt to fix the constant whine/whistle. They were quick to remind me that engineering still considers the sound “normal”, but...

    Standalone Autopark?

I searched for this but couldn’t see it as having been addressed before. We love autopark, but aren’t really interested in the rest of the automated driving experience. I’d gladly pay for autopark on a stand alone basis, but can’t justify buying the full autopilot package just for that. Has this...

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

The escalation process has been a waste of time so far. Circular conversations going nowhere. I’ve been told that sound is “subjective” (it really isn’t), and the SC have said they’ve “heard worse”, which I take to mean suck it up because others have it worse than you. I’ll keep pushing, but i’m...

Gear or drive unit noise on new 75D. Help?!!!

A constant whir would be fine. Ours is a high pitch whistle/whine. Done all the ride alongs. Engineering says it’s a 1.8khz tone (google 1.8khz tone and listen to one of the YouTube clips if you want an idea of the in-car sound). I’m sure some people wouldn’t be bothered by it, but it personally...
