Out of curiosity, did they refund the diagnosis fee? I would expect them too if the failure was exclusively caused by something under warranty.
I've only dealt with a warranty claim when I still had the "bumper to bumper" so I could be misinformed though.
Mine started doing this exactly under the same condition, colder weather, only while reversing.
After reading comments about deposits from very little use of pads, I think it's because I use the pads heavily for autocross, but the autocross season ended in October and now I pretty much just use...
Walmart's house brand, full synthetic, scored highly in independent testing for severe usage. I use it exclusively in the S2000 for track days. Anyone who pays $$$ for the other brands you listed is a sucker IMO
I have a set of 18x8.5 Enkei Raijin wheels that i ran on a 3 Performance (with standard rotors, I'm selling because they don't fit over PUP rotors).
The tires are 235/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza RE71R, which are Extreme Performance Summer tires (autocross tire).
I can sell you the set for $900...
I have a set of 18x8.5 Enkei Raijin wheels for sale if you're ever near Baltimore. They currently have Bridgestone RE71R Extreme Performance Summer tires (autocross tires) on them, but I can sell the wheels separately.
I used these for autocross on a 3 Performance (without PuP, so they will...
I could, but I want to use the spare as well, so I'm always monitoring it's pressure and so the tread will be the same if I have to swap it in a pinch. I'm used to doing a 5-wheel rotation pattern on older cars. Also if the wheel is damaged when I need the spare, then I'll have the replacement...
Definitely a personal preference thing, but I'll chime in anyway. My wife has a 2018 Model S 75D, but without any physical upgrades (like yours, OP) and I have a Model 3 Performance.
As you can probably guess by my avatar I greatly prefer the Model 3 Performance because of how it drives. Much...
Looking to purchase a single wheel for use as a full-size spare. Will purchase with/without OEM tire mounted. Cosmetic damage is fine, so long as the wheel is structurally sound and not bent or unbalanced.
Located in Rosedale, MD 21237.
Personally I would strongly recommend winter tires. However, if most of your driving is going to be in a city/metro area where the roads are regularly salted and plowed, AND you have experience driving a car with all-season tires in snowy conditions, AND your factory tires still have lots of...
I seem to be the odd man out here.
I had a 2013 Elantra GLS,with a 6-speed manual with ~120,000 miles. The local Hyundai dealer offered me $2,000 for it, Carmax offered me $3,000, and I ended up trading it in for my 3 Performance for $4,000.
The brake pedal on my P3D+ has started clicking as well. It seems to click right when I press it hard enough to engage the vehicle hold. I wouldn't be bothered except that the car is so quiet so the noise really sticks out.
Since we're talking about rules commonly broken that OP didn't even come close to breaking, what's the deal with roundabouts? Why is it that every time I go round one to effectively make a left turn, someone will just blast right in, not yielding?
My software updated this morning (I purchased Autopilot for $2K on Wednesday) and I walk out to see this screen as well. Some other threads have mentioned that rebooting the screen will clear it, but they say it will show up every morning!
I purchased Autopilot at 1:50 PM EST on March 6th. I have driven over the car over 50 miles since then. I did not receive an email receipt. Autopilot is no longer available for purchase in the Tesla store, only FSD.
I heard a clunk when my 3 was under hard braking at an autocross as well. It sounded to me like the clunk my Elantra used to make and the S2000 still makes when I first take the car for a drive after it sits for a couple days. The clunk on the S2000/Elantra would occur when either car started...
This guy is dead-on accurate. I've been doing autocross for 8 years in my S2000, and it really is a measure of who is the best at figuring out the proper racing line, executing it near the car's full potential ASAP, and making minor improvements without hitting the cones or losing control of...
I will say that Electric tech is inferior in terms of performance because of weight, which is the Public Enemy Number 1 of performance in vehicles (except for drag races, which can be won by brute force alone).
In terms of efficiency, Electric tech is superior, no arguments there.
Logistics...
Left behind a Hyundai Elantra. I don't miss it at all. The car in my avatar is a beloved ICE car that I will have until it breaks or I crash it on track.
I'm also obligated to commend your laptime. There's a registry of laptimes on the S2000 forum, and an avid track racer with Extreme Performance Summer tires (Hankook RS3s), coilovers, and upgraded sway bars lapped Laguna Seca in 1:48.9!
Awesome. I have an S2000 that I've driven on track and autocrossed on the east coast. Wife has a reservation for a Model 3 for me as a new daily.
I get so happy when I see evidence that the Model 3 is trackable, because it'd be awesome to have it as a backup car if the S2000 has problems.
Excellent. I'd love to be able to upgrade the brakes on a Model 3 to allow for the occasional track day, like the one that lapped Laguna Seca-- and then had to stop due to cooked brakes!
I for one am happy if Tesla began production quickly by making a car way more safe than necessary (excessive spot welds) and then later found out that an excellent safety rating can still be achieved with less (300 fewer spot welds).
Contrast this to prior manufacturers who cut safety corners...
When I visited the Tesla website yesterday, there was a popup window indicating that Model 3 test drives will be available soon. I was able to sign up.
Just an FYI for those wishing to test drive before ordering/configuring.
I'm looking forward to experiencing the car. Hopefully the handling...
^I forgot to mention that she has a Model 3 reservation for me, and I currently don't plan to purchase it. It makes sense to have it on the S, since it's a larger car that is going to sell well to the luxury market.
However, I'm expecting the Model 3 to have a more lightweight, sporty feel...
My wife took delivery of a red 2018 Model S 75D in March. She adores the car, and I enjoy driving it on the rare occasions that I can.
We also have a Model 3 reservation, placed in person on day 1, which I'm planning to use for a Short Range Model 3. I think a Short Range Model 3 would...
