NHTSA asks Tesla to recall 158,000 [now 135,000] vehicles for eMMC failure. Voluntary Recall issued

I definitely was. I'd already been to Service for this issue. They did the usual "clear out all the stored previous addresses and trip information", which didn't help. Now I was losing the center display for 5-10 minutes while driving. No backup camera, no A/C. Delightful.

NHTSA asks Tesla to recall 158,000 [now 135,000] vehicles for eMMC failure. Voluntary Recall issued

I contacted them the day before the eMMC announcement to complain about the center screen blanking out for long periods of time, reboots taking 4-5 minutes, etc. They scheduled me for a service appointment. I asked if they're just replacing the eMMC storage, and Service responded that the entire...

NHTSA asks Tesla to recall 158,000 [now 135,000] vehicles for eMMC failure. Voluntary Recall issued

Which version of the MCU are they going to install in place of MCU1? Don't tell me they're clearing out old inventory of MCU1 units by installing them as replacements.

FS: White 2017 Model S with <35k miles asking $48K (SoCal)

Hi Chuck. Yes, the yellowing screen has been fixed. I took it in a few months ago and Tesla used some UV treatment (you can find descriptions online) that got rid of the yellowing. I also had the A/C compressor replaced. It was squeaking occasionally, and the new one sounds normal.

FS: White 2017 Model S with <35k miles asking $48K (SoCal)

I normally don't charge to 100% but I estimate it's around 225 miles. I took delivery in December 2017, so warranty will be good through end of 2021 (depending on mileage). Yes, it's textile fabric interior and I think you're right about the unlimited supercharging. I will upload more interior...

    Diagnosis of "High Memory Consumption"

I just got my (2017) S back from the Brea service center. I had two issues that led to the visit. In the first, the center display (but not driver one) would turn black at random intervals. It would remain black until I rebooted the display. The second is that streaming stations would skip and...
