I do not expect Tesla to prioritize the production of 35k & 37k Model 3.
Now with orders coming from more parts of the world, new lower prices all around, Tesla will probably manufacture and sell the bigger margin cars first. If production capability remains available weekly, they will make...
Ever since Teslas started to show up on the road I always spotted them, but I also hoped the owners would drive faster, instead, these cars are more like efficiency champions. Only once some S accelerated on a ramp...unreal.
This is very likely the reason German automakers do not want to produce and sell EVs, their profit would be low (and canibalizing an ICE sell which brings in a decent profit).
The 3P will appeal to lots of non track going people - fast, good handling, medium sedan, cheap to run and maintain, versatile (also an economical and comfortable commuter ride). Actually, the last point is interesting. If you buy a BMW M , Audi S, or similar, you're forever stuck to the same...
When talking about "same price range" with any EV I think we have to factor in more than the sticker price.
For someone driving 10k miles per year or more, living in Europe or Canada, just the fuel savings are 15 to 25 thousand dollars over a 10 year ownership. In this case I would compare...
Honda Civic 2001, only 105k on it, nothing broke down in 17 years, manual (shifting gears in 2018 lol). I did insist on getting a stick for precise control, the Model 3 should be epic in that regard.
Looking at the poll results so far, the 3 is creating it's own market, it is not mostly...
I'm keeping an eye on the Vancouver PNE parking lot, my wild guess is they deliver around 30-40 per day (the count on the lot fluctuated from 120 to about 180, back to 90 today). 500 sounds about right unless trucks keep coming in.
Someone mentioned deliveries in Ontario slowed to less than 50...
I tend to worry a bit when a car is new, for dents or scratches, but my wife said she will key our 3 (very lightly, using a key from a Honda) so that I stop agonizing about it :)
On a serious note, it would be nice if the car is close to perfect on delivery, I intend to be a relentless ambassador :)
I understand the Jaguar will still be low volume per year, will actually start shipping at the end of 2018, and with some needed options will be priced at around 100k euros (vat included). I hope it will sell well in Europe, people probably trust the brand. Other manufacturers will be in even...
For me, if there were no EVs, I would have probably bought an Audi A3, 2 years ago. Then I test drove an I3 and in 2 minutes I realised EVs are 10 times better than gasoline cars. Tesla was just hinting at the Model 3, decided to wait, mainly because we need a long range EV.
Over a 10 years...
My first on the road sightings today, a red with 19 downtown, and a...red with 19 in North Vancouver - hopefully they were different so it can count as 2 :) The daylight signature looks similar to the (newest) S from the front.
Actually, they are bringing the cars from somewhere, one black with aero and one red with aero are outside now, a delivery is in progress :)...exciting.
I am in front of the Forum right now, there is only one 3, dark silver, non aero, an employee is cleaning the dust off. I was hoping to witness at least one delivery but there was no activity for the last 30 minutes, will come back another day.
