    Tesla CCS1 Adapter Not working

Did you try rebooting the car? When I first got my ccs adapter it didn’t work, on my second or third location I rebooted the car and bam started working. Since I’ve charged around 30 times from CCS and I believe only had to reboot one other time for it.

    6/3 or 4/3 on 60amps

Man you guys are quick lol, I edited my post to say nm-b in like 60 seconds from post.

    6/3 or 4/3 on 60amps

Yeah I didn’t notice the CA, had just edited my post to say I meant nm-b romex and then noticed yourr reply. No clue what nmd90 is or what its temp rating is.

    6/3 or 4/3 on 60amps

There really isn’t a disagreement, the code is the code. 6/3 isn’t the issue, it’s 6/3 nm-b romex that’s the problem. I agree a lot of electricians may install it or say it’s fine for a 60amp circuit, which it is allowed when you’re talking about ovens and such. But if you’re talking about...

I regret my Model Y purchase because of seat comfort and seating position problems

I also think the Y seat should be able to lower 2-3” more. I think I have a similar build, just shy of 6’2, 195, 30-31” inseam. I find like I do in most cars the answer is to lean the back seat. Not great for posture or very safe to have the seatbelt up on your belly, but it’s the only way I...

Highest mileage driven so far & reliability issue’s long term.

So one thing is there aren’t any 2170 packs over 5 years old yet for the 3/Y. There are plenty of 18650 model S’s though and quite a few have needed full pack replacement in the 7-9 year range. One would assume they’ve learned from the older S packs that failed and the newer packs will last...

Alternative condo charging solution to ChargePoint?

I have used weBoost | Cell Phone Signal Boosters for Home, Cars, RVs & More with pretty good success before. They have commercial applications, but if memory serves me I’ve just bought some of their home units $5-600 (a few years ago), and used 100’ coax cable. Put the antenna up against a...

Model S Plaid Didn't Make It Home

That really really sucks! This is way too common of a problem. Hate to give you more bad news, but if you want that neck snap your only option is to keep the car. They permanently retired Top Thrill Dragster yesterday.

Standard Range AWD Model Y inventory priced $61,990 USD

Congratulations, hope you get a new VIN soon! As you’re looking through the forums take note of the range threads. You say 279 is more the enough, but the reality is that’s going to be closer to 180-200 and 100-140 in the winter. As long as you don’t commute more then 100 miles a day and if...

Second thoughts on Telsa charger installation

Does the Build back/inflation bill have one? Because the old one expired last year, not sure there are any Federal rebates at the moment. OP, I did the work charging thing and trickle charging at home for 6+ months and it worked. But there was definitely some times where it got annoying...

22 MYLR - Still Missing Games & Controller Support

I’m not sure what the current lead time is, but a year or two ago it wouldn’t be uncommon to sit on that old firmware for a few weeks. Once you make it into the rotation it will be normal. It’s like they only once a month add new cars or something.

    Used Model Ys available

These prices just seem crazy to me. I bought my LR with 20’s, tow hitch for 10k less last year.

Road Trip Experience + Roof Cargo Box Efficiency

I wouldn’t discount the weight in the car. I have the same box and if it’s empty and normal driving it doesn’t add very much but some wind noise, maybe 10-15%. If the car is loaded for a trip I definitely notice the hit.

Is there anyway to force ONLY off-peak charging?

This is kind of blowing my mind they don’t have this nailed down. I have a chargepoint and it just works, never charges between 11am-7pm unless I start it in app or plug the car in twice within a minute. I tried using Tesla to control it but found the chargepoint more reliable. If you set...

MYLR/P Winter Range : will it make 300km/187mi?

Was just going to say have you looked if there are any CCS stations and maybe get an adapter. I know I wouldn’t make it in my MYLR with 20’s and winter tires, I averaged 338 wh/mi last winter. Did you check PlugShare to see if there’s any L2 chargers along the way? A restaurant with a 11kW...

Getting complaints about using public level 2 charger

I‘ve never gotten a note but I can understand the persons frustrations a bit. In my experience with a few chargepoint and tesla destination chargers in a work garage, a lot of people with new Tesla’s don’t have any etiquette. As we’ve gotten more and more in our garage we have people who...

Rear hitch cargo carrier with superchargers

The only issues I’ve had are on chargers with close mounted Tesla charging signs. Most stations the signs are mounted about 2’ further back and I don’t run into an issue. What I generally do is if I run into the situation and they don‘t have a pull in spot I‘ll use the CCS adapter and hit an...

Induction 20” tires - best mileage

Any suggestions on 3 season tires for the 20’s. After burning through the Goodyears, I got some 255/45/20 CrossClimate 2’s for the winter. They worked well as winter tires but my wh/mi jumped from around 280 to around 330. I‘m thinking of getting some summer tires but not sure what to get...

    Best home charger?

You probably missed it earlier in the thread but one of the reasons for going with Tesla wall connector is installing a nema 14-50/6-50 is more epensive to wire. A good outlet, box, GFCI breaker Will run you an extra $150 compared to hardwiring it directly in. The wall connecter has to be hard...

    Best home charger?

He’s saying just install a 240v (220 is still okay to say btw, just matters what decade you’re from) outlet and use universal mobile connector. You’re right that as it comes it’s 3-5 miles an hour with the 15a pigtail. However you can buy different pigtails based on what type of plug you have...

Can I use this adapter to charge my model Y at an RV park?

I got it from Evseadapters, however they no longer have the one I got, was a 2’ pigtail. This one should work. Although now that I look it‘s $39 in US but $92 on amazon.ca. Maybe directly from Parkworld would give better prices. I haven‘t used their actual tt30 but it should be fine as it says...

    CCS Adapter for North America

I think the general rule is around 2 weeks, it’s pretty quick. I ordered mine and used delivered korea as a reshipper and got it in around 10 days. I think most people are right around or just under 2 weeks using Harumio in the US. Longer if they’re out of stock on their case.

CCS - buy now or wait?

Yeah they’re hidden so if you’re not looking you generally won’t see them. Like superchargers they’re on the side of big box stores, strip malls, behind gas stations, etc. I really wish they’d put one in between Mackinaw and Escanaba (which both have SCs), there are a couple planned but...

CCS - buy now or wait?

Took a trip last week in MI that shaved 25 minutes and over 30 miles off my trip vs the route I’d have to take for a SuperCharger. There were 2 chargepoint DCFC station I could use. I mostly got it as a backup and for situations exactly like that, just more options.

Can I use this adapter to charge my model Y at an RV park?

Because of this I carry a 20’ 14-50 extension cord and use a tt-30p->14-50r pigtail. Charges around 3kW. Just used it last week a few times on a camping trip and there was no easy way to get the car close enough. I have to manually set 24A the one time but the pigtale cost $30-40 vs the $100...

Nema 14-50 adapters available now on Tesla website

No the car hasn’t come with the 14-50 for a couple years now, just the 5-15. You can usually buy them from your local service center though, even if they’re out of stock on the website. I think that’s the only one the SC’s stock.

    CCS Adapter - ?

I think it’s end user confusion and possibly supply chain. I don’t know how many Tesla’s actually have CCS enabled, but the fact that some went out last year without CCS could create confusion for users. I think they’d have to add some logic to the store of whether you have a car that is...

Yep, I’ve used it probably 5 times since the reboot and it’s been great every time. Maxed out around 182kW for me on a 350 charger.
  32. D

    CCS Adapter - ?

Agree it’s usually station issues, I’ve run into a lot of broken chargers. When I first got the adapter I failed at 2 different stations, but a reboot fixed it. So before giving up maybe try a reboot. I was getting unable to communicate with the car from the station, the car was waiting for...

    Electrify America

@JVINFL covered most of it. I used to order mine, ended up about $270 total. As for speed it depends. EA sites I’ve seen have at most had 2 350kW chargers and the rest are 150/50kWs. But a lot of Superchargers around me are only 150s. I may be wrong but I’d probably give a slight advantage...

Elon: Working on Tesla NA Service. Goal of having 2/3 of cars have same day service w/ no wait.

Well glad you’ve had great service and haven’t had an issue. Because of that you believe anyone saying they’ve had a different experience just likes to complain, let me guess maybe I’m lying and secretly a plant by the evil shorters? Would you be annoyed if you waited 3-4 weeks for an...

Whats comparable to The Tesla Mobile Connector On Amazon?

Are you sure yours isn’t coming with one, was it ordered after 4/17/22? I thought any of the ones affected were prompted at deposit to allow them to add one to the purchase. I can’t imagine they’re going to let you go without any charging option.

Be thankful they rescheduled you. I’ve taken off work, shown up and they‘ve said oh we haven‘t got the part yet, we’ll cancel this for you and you can just open a new ticket and reschedule. That way they get credit for a complete job and I have to start over. I’ve found I always have to follow...

Can you give us a little more description of what happened? I’m sure we’d all be interested to hear what happened so we can avoid it and can‘t really give any advice without knowing more of the story. Was it the breaker the the EVSE was on? If so were the wires burned/jacket scorched at the...

Modely Long range MSM or White

Same, no issues here. I’ve had more problems with popcorn getting stuck in the flush belt receivers then anything. I have had a bit of color transfer on the front seat, but once in awhile I’ll use a wet rag and it’s gone with a simple wipe.

    New 2022 MYP Completely Dead!

Have you opted out of arbitration yet? I think the window to do it is within 30 days of delivery. I’m not sure a lemon law is an option if you have an arbitration agreement in place. They may do it, but I don’t think they’re obligated to do it.

    Wall charger installation question

Yeah I remember being in a similar situation, 6/3 MC is easier to find and if you need less then 100’ of anything you’re paying a premium. I was going to do the MC but ended up getting a decent quote from an electrician to do it in conduit.

Car does not charge when cold

Pictures, videos, etc really do motivate Tesla service. I’ve had them tell me there’s no issue before, then I post a video of it happening to Imgur and link it in the SR. Then they say oh yeah we should fix that. Showing the steps a reasonable person would do to get around an issue, unplug...

    Wall charger installation question

I feel like everyone has made it clear the temperature differences is the reason you can’t use 6/2-3 NMB vs using 6awg MC or in conduit. In all of the cases the actual wire is more then likely the exact same. However that added plastic sheathing acts as an insulator which lowers the overall...
