Yes Tesla takes these. I think they take most checks that are not personal checks

I ended up having the shop cut around the sensors like they used to do. Was a good choice as it is working flawlessly now. They used to always cut around them however stopped due to saving time/effort .

Good morning all. After 2 weeks with sensor errors a few times a day (usually in the morning) I had the shop cut around the sensors . The car is now working well again . I used summon allot so need the sensors working , especially in the morning.

Appears it doesn’t affect at all per test

Hello leonwu , Your thinking of the radar that is behind the bumper . Everyone still has the ultrasonic sensors . These are 2 different sensor types . Ultrasonic - round on bumper and staying ( covered up by PPF) Radar - behind bumper and not seen and not installed anymore

I had PPF installed on a new model s . The installer said he now does the PPF over the bumper sensors. They seem to work fine however I’d like feedback from others . Wondering if anyone has had experience good or bad with this . Thank you Force

Fwiw I don’t consider the black trim to be included in a bumper PPF job .

Guarantee one day the cars will just start delivering with the new lights without any fan fair / pictures from Tesla . This has happened on almost all minor updates .

They do it in batches so the closer the better but it’s not all based on how many exact miles you are from Fremont . LA has always been a huge market for Tesla so they do deliveries here very often

My first thought about OP issues is I’m surprised they got a 2021 model S with such low production numbers and filing a lemon law lawsuit. Tesla holds grudges and I’m surprised their order didn’t get pushed until 2023 after Elon gets out of “production hell”

Edd 1148 moved to Feb 10-23 MS LR white 19” Advice I could give to anyone who ordered within the last 6 months is don’t look at your EDD daily / hourly . It’s not good for your stress and if you get lucky and get a vin Tesla will reach out to you .

My guess is most people who ordered before July 2021 will have their cars by end of quarter (end of march ) It appears Tesla is dialing in production and hopefully will get to 20k model s and x production this quarter.

Many shops will still tint orange glass, I got mine tinted. I have researched it a bit and the orange is a higher end uv light blocker. Most likely they stopped it for cost reasons .

Tesla needed to charge something so that every Bob and Sue didn’t order 2 key fobs just because, since they are free. I remember reading a thread where people where piling on saying they will get 2 fobs if they are free. This saves Tesla lots of $ as those people won’t be getting one.
