Seeing your post has me super excited! My OD was a few days after yours and my switch to a M3P was also right around the same time. I also happened to order the same spec and I’m in the same general region of the country. Maybe this portends a slightly sooner delivery than I’m expecting!

I also had a weird EDD update, from 8/4-8/8 to now 8/1-8/7. The day before this change, my SA told me they expected the car to arrive on 8/2 so I’m guessing that pushed up a bit and it may arrive a little earlier than they were expecting. Whatever, just can’t wait to see it!

They all ended up having the matrix lights since they were earlier ‘22 cars. Just couldn’t justify spending the same for a used LR that I would for a new P.

Before I decided to go ahead and get a new Tesla, I was looking at ‘22 M3 LRs and I specifically asked dealers to send me pictures of the headlights for this exact purpose. I’m getting an M3P so it’s no longer a concern (and the M3P is the same price or cheaper than used LRs I was considering!)...

Is it possible this smell comes from some kind of VOC being emitted from some of the hardware itself? Since it seems to be such a common occurrence with Model 3s and Ys, and sometimes the "fix" only lasts a short time, to me that almost suggests more of a chemical rather than a biological...

How far ahead of delivery should I add proof of delivery? And I assume I can wait until I go to take delivery to submit final payment?

Can’t blame you really. I lusted after the E92 M3 for years. Never pulled the trigger. Now I’m waiting to take delivery of a car that is faster, cheaper to run and maintain, and exponentially more reliable.

And that fuel bill for the *other* M3 is going to sting a bit.

Ugh, damn Tesla for calling and texting, getting my hopes up momentarily just to ask if I had a trade in. Texting back saying no and asking if this means a delivery is imminent was met with referencing the EDD I see. Boo!

My EDD made a slightly odd move overnight. I was sitting at a two week window, and now it moved forward to be just shy of two weeks. Good news that it's narrowing, or a bad sign of an impending push back?

That's been a temptation for me as well. If I can't take delivery by Aug 19, I can't take advantage of my state's sales tax credit and it would effectively add another $4k+ to the total cost of the car. If it starts getting close to that, it'll be really tempting to look at used.

I’m driving a bog standard ‘99 F150 single cab with 175k mi while I wait for my M3P. It has AC, but only when it’s moving. Recent heat index warnings have made for some less than comfy drives around town. Not to mention paying for gas. The Tesla will be a welcome relief in sooooo many ways.
