I agree, time is moving too slowly...
But....
I just came back from a 3,200 mile road trip in my Mercedes Sprinter "Adventure" van. I converted a basic cargo van and it suits me and my wife perfectly. I'm 6' 3", she's 6' 2" so we love the ability to stand up inside. While in Florida there was...
I'll be trading in a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter diesel cargo van I made into an adventure van / stealth RV. I plan to tow with the Cybertruck so getting the tri-motor for the 500 mile range.
Welcome Friend!
You'll love going electric. I've been mostly electric since 2012 (Chevy Volt) and Model 3 owner since last Nov. If you get a chance get a test drive in any Tesla and you'll be hooked. BTW I also ordered a tri-motor yesterday. It will replace my diesel Sprinter adventure van.
Like almost everyone, my first reaction was: "This is a joke, right?" It's so ugly I couldn't see myself driving it. But I'm sure Tesla studied people's reactions and found they start to like Cybertruck after the shock wears off. The specs are fantastic and make it a no-brainer if you can get...
OK, from that invite we can probably infer that it has a lightbar like Rivian in front. Looks like the front tires are beefy and pushed forward as Tesla does with its other designs.
Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. Where I live almost every day I pass people (with dogs) on the shoulder or cyclists, mail trucks, landscapers, etc. So almost every day I'm crossing the center line to leave extra room on the shoulder. Often there is an approaching car some distance away. Everyone...
From the Tesla blog entry:
"Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance is designed to steer a Tesla vehicle back into the driving lane if our system detects that it is departing its lane and there could be a collision, or if the car is close to the edge of the road."
What if I'm deliberately driving...
It does sound like the OP has a temperature-related problem. But I charge with a J1772 in my garage and often have a similar problem where the car won't release the adapter. I figured out that if I stop charging using the charger's touchscreen the adapter will unlock. If the car is not already...
It finally happened; we picked up the car today. I didn't do a full inspection but did note the following:
The Cherry Hill SC was packed with new cars for delivery. There was really no place for customers to park. Far more than I've seen on previous visits. End of year push is probably...
Congrats on finishing the journey to your car! I totally get what you're saying about all the new usernames! It looks like I will finally get my car tomorrow and I, too, will move on from this forum.
Believe me I agree the delivery process is a disaster: I'm still waiting for my car ordered June 30. I'm told it's in the Chicago area for the last three weeks!
But the article was mostly anecdotal. It would have been useful if the journalist pressed Tesla for an explanation of how they're...
Yeah, yeah, rub it in... ;)
[OFF TOPIC]
How is it in the cold weather? I saw the video by Electrek's Fred Lambert about the frozen door handles, windows, etc.
Model 3 Cold Weather Flaws
I'm right on the snow/ice line in NJ so those will be real issues for me. Not that other cars don't have...

What Tesla's 'Delivery Logistics Hell' Is Like for Model 3 Buyers
[EDIT]
I'll summarize the article: It describes the experience of four buyers: two customers cancelled after delays and screwups, one who took delvery after delays and one customer with...
Congrats on getting your car but I think it's awful that a loyal customer like yourself had such a long wait--especially when you're getting a fully optioned car.
In the last week I've talked with both my Delivery Advisor and the Delivery Specialist(s) at the service center. They've got no...
The ridiculous aspect of this is that whomever at Tesla know the real issue doesn't communicate it to the SCs. I believe they are in the dark as much as we are.
Gotta ask: How does your chill greyhound doggie like your M3?
Looks like my Tesla 60m rate is about .25% higher. I know I could get a better rate through my wife's credit union, but I heard too many stories here of Tesla struggling with outside finance.
Six reschedules! What is their excuse? Did you have to refinance? My MVPA was pulled last week and I started to panic, then the local SC said it was because my Tesla financing was expiring. I see that the bank pulled my credit report again.
Tesla really really needs to fix their east cost...
I'm curious if there are any people out there with June or earlier orders that have not received their car?
I'm still waiting: Feb reservation, June 30 order. Delivery was supposed to happen on Nov-5. I'm being told that my car is sitting in the Chicago transport hub for three weeks. Nobody...
Congrats on the car! Same config as I've got except for EAP, but I've asked them to add EAP. I wish my car would show up was supposed to be delivered Monday but now they have no idea. As of Wednesday it's been stuck in Chicago for almost 3 weeks.
Keep us posted. Did you get a new delivery date? I was told probably a week and a half delay, but a new appointment for this Friday is now on my account.
My delivery was supposed to be yesterday 11/5. I'm told the car has not moved from the Chicago area for 2 weeks. A new appointment of 11/9 4:30 AM (!) is now on my account, but the local SC told me it would be a week and a half. Going to call tomorrow to see if perhaps it is 11/9 afternoon...
When I call my local SC the voice prompts have an option for deliveries. That connects me right to the Delivery Specialists. I've had no problem reaching them when I've called. They contacted me initially to confirm my information, build and delivery date, but I'm sure you could just ask them...
It does seem like there is a stall in shipments east. There are quite a few people with early/mid Nov deliveries being pushed back...
Darn, things were going so smoothly once my DA made initial contact.
(Posted in another thread)
Grrr...
I get to join the delayed delivery club. My car has not moved from the mid-west in the last week so my Monday delivery is off.
When it does arrive they offered me Tesla Direct but I'm only 20 mins from the SC so don't see any benefit with that. I'd rather...
When she looked it up a week ago it was west of Chicago and that was the next expected location. Today she said "somewhere in the mid-west. She didn't want to give me a new date without more info. Did you ask if Tesla Direct would speed delivery?
Anyway, if the freight marshaling yard is just...

When it does arrive they offered me Tesla Direct but I'm only 20 mins from the SC so don't see any benefit with that. I'd rather have less handling of the car...
Update on my delivery status:
15-Oct: Heard from delivery advisor for the first time; delivery scheduled for 5-Nov
16-Oct: Paid remaining balance due (except for loan)
17-Oct: MVPA appeared on my account webpage
29-Oct: Called by local SC delivery specialist. Confirmed 5-Nov delivery. Car...
Supposedly a VIN is not assigned until 5 days before delivery and you are at 6 days.
BUT: I got a VIN for my Nov-5 delivery on Oct-15, the day after I applied for Tesla financing (applied and approved within 30 mins--on a Sunday!) I decided to go with Tesla financing because I figured the...
You might try e-mailing Tesla finance ([email protected]). My local SC recommended I do that, and the day after I did I heard from my delivery advisor and got my VIN 10 days later.
Same here. $35K plus $18K and $1K doc fees. No price adjustment. It seems like the $1K credit should only apply to those who have a $19K (or more) cost for LR AWD if the point was to equalize the charge for everyone. Of course I won't refuse a $1K credit!
Wow, thanks for all of that detail!
I've been playing with the Tesla Trip Planner for months trying out my various trips. From my house to Boston it says stop for 20 mins at the Manchester, CT supercharger which looks like a nice location. From my house it's about 3 to 3.5 hrs so a good place...
Nice! I envy the great terrain you guys have out west. I only carry pedal powered bikes but with our platform bed we can fit two bikes, kayak and camping gear underneath with lots of room. Anyway this is a little off-topic. If you're on Sprinter-Source I can share design ideas. Same userid I...
I'll be making that PHL-BOS roundtrip soon (I'm actually across the river in NJ). My sister is in Boston, I told her I would visit as soon as I get my M3.
Curious: where did you supercharge along the way?
Contrats to you on your new ride! I got a VIN and delivery date yesterday. Nov-5 can't come too soon...
Hey, I have a 2014 Sprinter 2500 "adventure van"! What do you use yours for? I'd love to have a diesel/electric hybrid Sprinter.
[Forum: Don't ban me for using the 'D' word please!]
Never mind...
I heard from my DA today with VIN and delivery date. Since I have a VIN insurance issuance is not a problem; already handled with my agent.
VIN: 10539x
Delivery: 5-Nov
