Model 3 has an incoming facelift/refresh/update (codename Highland), Model Y is rumored to follow some time after (codename Juniper). Highland seems like it will come relatively soon, but haven't heard any rumors on Juniper timing, maybe late 2024? If anyone knows would be interested to hear.

If you aren't in a rush, best bet may be just to wait to order until they are more ubiquitous. May be worth waiting until model 3 refresh is out (rumored this quarter but may be EOY or Q1 2024), to see if any other rumored updates like bumper cams and such are in the pipe.

I had this after getting my cabin camera swapped for one with IR, buzzing/crackling coming from where the IR emitters are in the rearview mirror/cabin camera housing. I took the housing open, and cleaned the plastic and all touching parts with alcohol wipes, and problem seemed solved after that.

FWIW when i opened my camera housing, the cabin camera was not fully attached. Is your cabin camera recessed into the housing? maybe its that. Was actually pretty easy to remove the mirror and pull the housing cover off to take a look. You can sign up to tesla service subscription for free...

Following up, my camera was blinded by bright infrared lights on the side in the sentry view. I noticed it was physically pretty inset/recessed in the housing. I followed : "Camera - Occupant (Remove and Replace)"...

Yeah, looking like a safe buy now. I'd probably only wait if really want the new cameras and potentially radar, but be prepared to wait until Q4 23 potentially for that.

Part of the reason I am anxiously optimistic about macro slowdown/recession. They can't take sales/demand for granted anymore, and will hopefully respond by increasing quality, service, experience, all the things.

No don't need to actually change the titled price, can be structured as a rebate.

I don't think Tesla will do this,but one way to approach in the future is have a "30 day price guarantee" that is visible and agreed to so people will feel like they have some protection against overnight drops, while also feeling responsible/agreeing that the cutoff is 30 days. May help...

To be fair, Apple is a master at this, and cars are harder to manage inventory for than phones. Would love Tesla to get to Apple's level but I just don't see them being that competent at supply chain management based on past performance. Tesla's signature move is the YOLO.

I feel you, you'll get to that view. Don't get there for Tesla, but for yourself. No point in beating yourself up or wasting energy angry at Tesla for something that really comes down to luck. The hard part will be learning to love that Tesla logo staring you in the face every day though lol!

It sucks when it doesn't go in your favor, not surprised people are upset. Tesla is going to burn goodwill and piss people off when they price drop there's really no avoiding it with this model or pretending like it doesn't suck. It just is what it is.

Angry recent purchases Tesla probably gives no cares about, but if it starts affecting new orders because people are afraid of future price drops, it could put pressure on Tesla to have an explicit price guarantee or whatnot. Probably wont happen though but yeah.

Yeah a lot of demand levers they can pull other than price changes. Hopefully this leads to a better customer service experience.

Yes would be appreciated if we could keep those discussions contained to the investors section of the forum. Makes it hard to discuss purchase timing advice or future rumored upgrades without the conversation going off the rails on the stock/company performance and often getting confrontational.

This is a solved problem, Tesla should just have a 30 day price match period. Addresses pretty much every scenario. With random price drops that have no match window, it upsets people and makes future informed buyers reluctant to pull the trigger.
