High pitched noise from drive unit

Wow - it's great to hear that Tesla is starting to address this issue! I was waiting to hear more "success" stories like this before attempting to book a service appointment. It might actually be time to try. :) I haven't had mine replaced/fixed (yet) but the sound is primarily coming from...

Any updates on this service appointment? Did you get your car back? Did they replace the strap?

High pitched noise from drive unit

Add me to the list of people affected by this. I have a 2018 Model 3 AWD and this issue is getting very annoying. Unfortunately, I had the mobile service tech go for a drive in the car and he said Tesla considers it "normal". My family and I definitely disagree! I made a video to help...

    Insurance in BC

FYI - the BCAA agent checked what the equivalent optional coverage would be through ICBC instead of BCAA - it was about double! It definitely helps to shop around for optional coverage (BCAA rates are incredible, IMHO).

    Insurance in BC

I just renewed at BCAA today, here's the comparison: Sept '18 - Sept '19: ICBC Basic: $744 BCAA optional: $720 Sept '19 - Sept '20 ICBC Basic: $732 BCAA optional: $738 So it went up $6. Not bad. :)

Wheels for Stock Model 3 Tires

Okay, so after returning the 18x9, I got the 18x8 (total time since order first placed... 24 days). Installed today, and I like the look!

Wheels for Stock Model 3 Tires

I ordered a set of Fast FC04 (18x8 +30 offset) last week from PMC Tire and they arrived today. Took one out of the box and they look great! The only problem is, they sent me 18x9 wheels, not the 18x8 I ordered! They were closed by this time, so I sent an email and will call them tomorrow when...

Hmm, I wonder if that has changed recently? I insured my Model 3 AWD when I got it in Oct. 2018 and I was able to get Replacement Cost Plus for $153.

Wheels for Stock Model 3 Tires

For those of you who ordered wheels online, where did you go to get the tires installed and balanced? I'm just imagining getting dirty looks walking into Kal Tire with my own wheels and tires. :) Also curious how much it costs. On another note, I'm now considering Fast FC04 (Titanium) wheels...

Wheels for Stock Model 3 Tires

Thanks for the link - seems like the WheelWiz weight is inflated for some reason (shipping weight?) So, comparing the various wheel weights: 18" TST flow forged: 21.0 lbs 18" aero (no cover): 21.6 lbs 18" aero (w/cover): 23.0 lbs 19" sport: 25.0 lbs R187: 26.2 lbs I love the look of the TST...

Wheels for Stock Model 3 Tires

I'm in the same situation - looking for wheels for my factory all-season tires. I'm heavily leaning towards the Replika R187 wheel which is quite popular since it has a classic Tesla turbine look. They're pretty cheap, too - and probably easily available from local tire shops like Kal Tire...

    EV Wheel Direct

I like the look of those, but the Replika R187 seem very similar and are less than half the price ($160 CDN at WheelWiz).

[BC only] ChargeBC - "free" FleetCarma OBD2 device

I just got my C2 device today (signed up for the program in September). The instructions don't look very complicated - I'm just stuck at the "create account" step. They say to create an account at Log In | FleetCarma but there's no "create account" button there. I emailed their support so...

Anybody use the stock rims with their Winter tires?

I had Hakka R3's put on my 18" aero rims by Kal Tire on Oct. 9. No snow here yet but the temps are getting colder and I wanted them on before the inevitable rush! The plan is to take the factory Michelin tires and get some new wheels to use in the spring. Maybe a set of Replika R187...

Highest Software on a Canadian Model 3

I got 42.2 yesterday, but the only change (according to the release notes) is support for key fob. No mention of increased regen (and it feels the same to me as before). Don't Canadian cars get updated (increased) regen?

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

Just for another data point - I've been driving for a few weeks now with Nokian Hakka R3's on factory 18" aero wheels and sensors and I have NOT noticed this happening to me. Full regen is available at all speeds (except for when the temperature is actually colder and the car itself is cold, in...

Model 3 key fob finally coming

I use a OnePlus 5 which also has BT 5.0 and it works about 80% of the time. It's the last 20% that's annoying (i.e. I need to take the phone out of my pocket, open the Tesla app, and tap the unlock icon).

I had a similar issue to your photo of the paint defect on the bottom of the door sill. Tesla fixed it up for me through a local Tesla-approved body shop - I can't even tell it was there. No referral rewards for BC residents now

Now that the referral program has changed so that any Model 3 now applies as a referral (not just performance) - it's even more unfortunate that BC is excluded from the program. Is there anything we can do to get this changed? Any updates from Tesla about this?

Vancouverites looking into Ceramic or Xpel

Just to follow up on my own post - I ended up going with Okanagan Detailing. They are certified Opti-Coat Pro installers and the owner, NIck, did an AMAZING job! I got PPF on the front bumper (which is actually done by Solartech) and Opti-Coat Pro Plus (7 year). I definitely recommend them...

    Canadian Tesla Service

With my Model 3 only a week and a half old, I would like to get in touch with Tesla Service to note a few relatively minor things: 1) Brakes make an audible "rubbing" sound at really low speeds, like when I'm backing out of my driveway - hard braking doesn't seem affected though 2) The chrome...

Vendor Dashboard for Tesla - the better app for your Tesla

Is this app designed to work with the Model 3? A lot of the features I've tried so far (battery current, location app, speed clocking, etc) respond with "Failure due to vehicle offline (0x39)" even when the car is on and driving.

I picked up my red AWD last week (Sept. 20) and this week I had it in to get PPF on the front bumper and ceramic coating. While I thought the paint looked pretty good at the lot when picking it up, the detailer noticed a few things: 1) The delivery center "prep" left a lot of swirl marks and...

They do a 10 minute intro slide show when there's a group of a few people - then you meet your delivery rep to go through and sign the MVPA and complete the payment. That only takes < 5 min. After that you talk to the insurance person, which only takes about 10-15 minutes. Once that is...
