    RDU/LDU coolant bypass innovation

https://revoltsystems.com/tesla-large-drive-unit-ldu-coolant-bypass-kit-the-achilies-seal-fix/ $499 I'm starting to research options. I believe my car is in scope. 2016.5 S 75 RWD. 150k miles. So far car runs fine, but I want to keep it forever. Is it wise to ask Tesla to check it before...

Fix the damn auto wipers tesla!

Auto wipers used to be decent on my 16 S facelift. I left the stalk knob on 3 dots most of the time. Over about the last year they've become much worse. They have the same symptoms described above, especially the occasional wipe on a clear day, and not wiping frequently enough in mist or light...

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

It's interesting how the human brain categorizes objects without conscious foreground thought. I don't intend to notice Teslas, but I magically become aware of them!

Pushing the park button won't open door handles

Thanks folks, I let it sleep for a while, and it's back to normal today. That is, one press to go into Park, and another press to extend the door handles.

Pushing the park button won't open door handles

I now have this issue. 2016 refresh Model S on 2024.2.7. Not certain if this started happening with the latest version. A double press on the park button now puts the car in auto park mode ("choose a direction. Auto park will start after you exit the car") instead of moving the door handles...

    Is my 2016 Model S 60 "uncorked" to 75?

I forgot to mention... often on the forum, the word 'uncorked' is used to mean a free acceleration boost that some model S cars of that era were eligible to receive. My car doesn't have the necessary hardware for that. HTH.

    Is my 2016 Model S 60 "uncorked" to 75?

I bought my S 60 back in 2016. I later paid to upgrade it to a 75. Strangely I still see 60 in the app - specs where you see 75. However on the main app screen I see 75. That's on the bottom of the main screen, right above the specs button. Also, in the car it shows 75 in the binnacle...

Supercharger - Irving, TX - Story Rd

I just swung by this morning. Similar to the above post, there are several technicians working, and pedestals and cabinets are opened up for them to access. There is a meter.

Looking for an older Model S - Do I understand the differences? What amenities can I skip?

Wow, thorough research! Some good feedback above, but I'll chime in. I'd suggest ensuring that your mom can easily enter/exit the car. Some mobility-challenged folks have difficulty with the low height or the shape of the door. I wish that my car had better sound insulation, especially for...

Supercharger - Fort Worth, TX - North Freeway

Note that only some of the pedastals are working. In-car nav is accurate. Note to self: if Tesla ain't lit, it ain't gonna charge no matter how many times you try. Amazingly, the Buc-ee's staff was THOROUGHLY cleaning the pedastals. Wiping down the top, sides, cable, etc. They even cleaned...

Model X software update - 2023.12 - how to get it?

Here's an update to say there's no update. Looks the same, except the grass is growing through the landscape mat. No meter. Given that I live close, no idea why I'm following the construction.

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

For those that aren't local, let me explain. Dallas Parkway is the name for the service road of the Dallas North Tollway (the north-south expressway in the map above). Windhaven parkway is the local cross street.

Extremely loud fan noise from front of car

I brought mine to service with the same complaint. They diagnosed remotely and replaced the center powered louver. I'm not sure if that's the solution because it hasn't been as hot recently. I still wonder if the software is more sensitive to higher temps, or some battery temp sensor is...

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Heads up, now's the time to do this. It appears there is a price increase underway. I requested the upgrade via the app, and the automated estimate came back as USD $1750. I then looked at www.tesla.com/support/infotainment and it still shows the $1,500 price. I chatted back to service and they...

************ FIVE years with Model S OP here. You've probably been anxiously waiting all year and hoping that I'd post an update. I'm up to 110K miles now, and there's really nothing significant to report over the last year. (yes, this is that rare "post about nothing"). The range is down to...

I too saw some on 75 heading south between Atlanta and Ocala. 4 truckloads before and after Thanksgiving. There's hope for a fun Christmas for you central and south Florida people. I thought I read that Tesla sends them by train to Tennessee (?) and truck the rest of the way. I even saw a...

Bought FSD, but X is stuck on 2020 software build without it

2016 December S. AP3 MCU1 FSD. Had been on 2020.48.37.6 for many months. Got 2021.24.25.1 just now. Seems to be a feature release, not just security fixes. Nothing about FSD beta though.

    What's your S 75 range at 90%?

Mine is very similar. 2016 December build S60, 99k miles, 60 unlocked to 75 last year. 181 at 80%. Occasional supercharging. Dallas, so not usually too cold.

Someday I'll probably do the $2500 for MCU2. Forum comments seem to indicate that the vast majority of people are happy with the faster response time. Now that the radio is upgradeable too, I'm more inclined to do it. I don't think I'll miss AM much, although I haven't found KRLD on TuneIn...

I have wondered about the damping material. And PPF too. I've seen several threads on both. Laziness/cheapness are currently trouncing my damping/PPF ideas. I do wonder about a reasonable price in the DFW area though. To be worth it, the improvement would need to be quite noticeable.

My wife has a 2018 Model X with air suspension. It seems somewhat smoother, but not 70's Caddy boat smooth:) Certainly not quieter. It would be interesting to drive my car, then an 18 with air, and then a Raven in quick succession over the same road. I vaguely recall someone posting db...

Purchased Model S 60 (RWD) in December 2016 (ordered in October and waited anxiously for 3 months!). Now has 95K miles. Has lifetime supercharging and connectivity. Recently upgraded to a 75. While it was a 60, battery degradation on 90% charge went from 188 miles to maybe 178. Now as a 75...

60 to 75 upgrade not avail anymore? why not?

Now that it's available again, I had the unlock a few weeks ago for my December 2016 S. More than covers the degradation. 90% started at 188 and got down to 175. After unlock, 80% is 183.

    What’s S60D to S75D upgrade/uncork price today?

Has anyone been able to unlock a 60 to become a 75 recently? If so, how? I lost the option to purchase on the website last summer. Various queries to Tesla result in "coming soon" answers, but clearly that's not been true. Latest answer was to upgrade in the app, but I don't have that option.

    Hello from Germany

Welcome! I too have been trying to upgrade my 2016 S60 to a 75, but Tesla won't do it. They removed the option from their website last summer. PS, I play clarinet in a local German band here in Texas.
