Charge Rate Reduced- Wall Plug Temperature High

[TESLA] Charge Rate Reduced - Easy Fix Made this video. The wires were not necessarily loose, but the terminals on the outlet were not truly fully tight either. Been charging at the full rate ever since.

Blind Spot Assist - Never noticed this

Completely agree. It’s almost a no brainer given the technology is already there. Even a toggle feature would solve it for those who may disagree with its usefulness.

Blind Spot Assist - Never noticed this

“Blind Spot Assist” is a made up term but a very real feature I never noticed. Apparently only arrived with the updated driving visualizations. I always knew about the warning chimes, the red line, and the outright collision avoidance, but never took notice (or read) of this one. When you’re on...

Model 3 wipers do a neat trick!

I think that wiper needs to be adjusted on the post. Like, turned 1 degree counter clockwise from drivers perspective.

0-60 MPH test of LR RWD on 2019.36.2.1

And here’s my second test under slightly better conditions. It was still cold out and the battery showed a few dotted lines in the regen side. But the ground was dry and it was preconditioned for about 15 minutes. Managed to get it under 4.9 seconds. Bear in mind, this is the raw time. This does...

    USB Too Slow -TeslaCam

It’s not the update at all (well, almost, I’ll explain). In previous versions, when the drive was rendered “too slow” to record, it just displayed an X. At least now they tell you what’s up. Here’s what’s happening: 1) The total video feed in a recent update was increased by 33% with the...

0-60 MPH test of LR RWD on 2019.36.2.1

Well said. It’s important to note, however, that the increased whine is under hard acceleration. Is that your experience as well?

0-60 MPH test of LR RWD on 2019.36.2.1

So, I got the range increase the first time around and I still maintain it. 325 miles, but with slight degradation limits at about 316 at this point. I have 35k miles. Regarding efficiency, it’s hard to say. The same day I got the update was the first day of bitter cold temps. It appears a...

0-60 MPH test of LR RWD on 2019.36.2.1

A very rudimentary test of the new power increase using an online stopwatch and slow motion video. Conditions were wet and cold (41F) and the battery was a little cold too. The only preconditioning was a 20 minute top-off charge about 15 minutes prior. It slipped slightly on launch. I’ll run...

    New update on Teslafi: 2019.32.12.3

There’s a fix for this on YouTube. Had to do with a WiFi connection issue between the car and the router.

    Phone Key Keeps Disconnecting

Me too. iOS app was perfect until the update to 3.9.0. Now it logs me out every 30 minutes or so. Sign back in and am shown the Powerwall swiping graphic each time. Eagerly awaiting a fix.

    Best charging routine

Thanks for the advice. Regarding 325 miles: I had already been at a slight range loss before the upgrade. I never saw 325. The day after the increase, I charged to 100% to witness it for myself and only hit 321 miles indicated. It was consistent (by division) with what I expected because I had...

    Best charging routine

While I have all of y’alls attention, here’s one more for you. I have a trip coming up where I’ll be gone for 8 days. Should I reduce the max to 50% while it sits plugged in?
  15. T

    Best charging routine

Awesome! Sounds like you’re doing well with it. As for me, I have the LR RWD with the upgraded 325 mile range. My commute is 100 miles round trip. Plus, my family and I drive it absolutely everywhere. Next week it turns 1 year old with 27k miles. At 90% charge, I top out at 281miles. If all...

    Best charging routine

I hear ya. Honestly, I can take or leave the added range, but the thing I like most about 90% SOC is the added power. I don’t often accelerate hard, but knowing that it’s there for a slight distance longer makes me feel happier. I find that power tapers off a little bit below 70%. But it’s...

    Best charging routine

Phenomenal! I love that the responses are not mixed. I do in fact have time-of-day rates where off-peak is 9pm - 9am. Sounds like I’m doing ok. And frankly, after a year of ownership, I don’t really care much for range accuracy. I just care about battery capacity preservation so effective...

    Best charging routine

So I’ve been noticing a fair amount of capacity loss. Not bad, not good, going by charts I’ve seen around. I’d like to get some thoughts. I charge every night no matter the charge level at the end of my day. I go to 90%, most often starting from 50%. I schedule it to start at 2am and it...

Trick to find all rattles in Model 3

Did you try a variety of frequencies? Sweet spots will be between 50 and 150Hz. Also, make sure the volume is adequately loud. Don’t blow your eardrums or anything, but it should be loud enough to vibrate your mirrors.

Trick to find all rattles in Model 3

You can do either, but best to be parked. That way you can put your ear to the things that rattle and buzz once you turn up the bass.

Video: Driver left scene of an accident / Update: driver caught

Nah, at the last second they had their wheel turned sharply to the left as though trying to avoid impact. It wasn’t in time, banged you up, waited a second while saying “OH SH...!” And took off. Left the scene of an accident. Newer car or otherwise. That’s what happened.

    Anyone has 2019.20.4?

Check your WiFi connection. I swear by it. My router is sometimes problematic and I have to reconnect my devices. Here’s a video. Also, I’ve heard people mention that the guest WiFi at Tesla service centers gets you speedy updates. Might be worth your while if you have one close by and you...

Autopilot order page gone from my account

Oh good point. In fact, I think at some point in the future, Tesla will start giving out FSD for free in order to support their ride share network. Think about it. They’re gonna take 30% of every ride so it would benefit them to have all cars (or at least those who sign up for a ride share...

Autopilot order page gone from my account

Yeah, at 2K + 3K for the full suite it was an amazing deal, but for me it was just really bad timing. My wife is certain we’ll see it again. So I’m in the same boat. Will just wait patiently and hopefully we’ll see a sale happen again. I still love driving it though so I don’t feel too bad.

My first accident caught on dash cam

I gotta tell you. It got much better after some update. The 2019.5.15 broke it again after Sentry Mode. Now, on 2019.8.6 (but since 2019.8.4)and it’s all better again. Haven’t seen the gray X in a while. Hopefully it stays this way.

Autopilot order page gone from my account

Considering that Autopilot is now standard on all cars (BTW, I don’t have it), I wanted to take a peek at my account page to see what the after-delivery price is now. Weirdly, it’s gone. It was there a few days ago. I’m curious if others are seeing the same thing. If so, I’d be curious if...

    2019.8.6

Disconnect/reconnect WiFi is just toggling it off and on? If so, you might try forgetting your WiFi network through WiFi settings then rejoin it. I was in the same boat as you and got a long awaited update within a couple hours after doing this.

    2019.8.6

No need to go to those lengths. I’m an active member on here just like you. I took the time to make what felt was a useful video. Sure, the clicks would be nice, but the point is, as I state in the video, I’m not sure if it works 100%. I need some help and validation. And why not support other...

My first accident caught on dash cam

Honestly, I forgot I had the dash cam. The accident happened like 2 weeks after I got it. Hours went by, but only about 30 minutes worth of driving, to the precinct and back to work. When my coworker said that security might have footage on their street facing camera, I immediately remembered...

My first accident caught on dash cam

Nothing major, but the other driver had me worried that she was gonna lie saying I rear-ended her. Honestly, it was probably just me, but she rubbed me the wrong way. Newark NJ is a city where they don’t send an officer to take a report unless there are injuries. So it’s up to the drivers to...

    2019.8.6

Same updates since early versions of 2019.8.x. Probably working out bugs. I noticed my wipers have been on point since 2019.8.4 and my USB drive corrupts FAR less often. For thise who have not yet gotten this latest update, nothing to worry about.
  37. T

    2019.8.6

Me too. No release notes either. But I wanted to mention that I’m not in the early access club, but since resetting my WiFi settings, I’m back to getting every new update as quick as the come out. 2019.8.6 barely just came out and I got it. I’ll post release notes in 10 mins.

    No software update for me

Would you mind trying something for me? I think I found a cause for why some people who might be stuck far behind on updates are not getting them. Unless it’s a fantastic coincidence, a trick I tried worked (seemingly). I would like for some others, who have WiFi connectivity and aren’t...

My floor mats saved the day (caught on... fendercam??)

Dude your the man! I understand you now. Question about winter tires. Surely I can find the answer around here somewhere, but since we’re on the subject. How is road noise compatible to all-seasons? Many thanks!

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand the free part. Once again please, in different terms, for a layman :)

My floor mats saved the day (caught on... fendercam??)

Nah, that was the basic dash cam. I just made sure to hit the camera button after the ordeal.

My floor mats saved the day (caught on... fendercam??)

I don’t go up north often. Getting into that spot was just poor judgement on my part. But absolutely right about winter tires. That could’ve helped.

My floor mats saved the day (caught on... fendercam??)

This happened at Killington in an unofficial passenger unloading area. I parked my RWD Long-Range Tesla Model 3 as close as I could to the side not knowing I was inches from an invisible drop-off under the snow. Probably only a few inches, but it would still be really bad. When I realized I...

298 miles is my new 100% (LR RWD)

What was the outside temperature when you charged? I’ve found that if the battery is cold, like 30-35 degrees F outside while charging, it will finish charging showing a lower indicated range (about 3-5% lower) than it should. When outside temp is around 60 or higher, range is spot on. I live in...

    "Bangs" and "Clunks" when charging?

It sounds like a bent piece of sheet metal being bent the other way. My opinion is that there’s a piece of sheet metal somewhere which is flexing due to heat from supercharging... not the battery itself. There’s a lot of sheet metal around the battery. In fact, there’s one directly under the...

    Brake problem?

Regarding the brakes, yes, mine too are loud. They don’t squeak or anything, and they don’t necessarily ride the rotor when not applied, but when I do apply them at low speed, I hear them very prominently sliding against the rotors. It’s as if the pads are just very low quality. It’s not rust in...

Obstacle/Collision Avoidance Question without TACC or AP

I’ve encountered collision avoidance twice. In each case, a truck was passing me on the left at high speed and hugging my lane line while I myself was hugging it too. The loud steady beep, not the multi tone one for forward collision warning, the one which mutes the radio, alerted and the car...

    5% increase in power

I gotta tell you I think it’s already there. I received the 2019.5.15 update last week which updated the range on my LR RWD. Been doing seat of my pants testing of acceleration and it is definitely faster, particularly at speeds between 30 and 60. Again, not a scientific test, just feel. No...
