What would you "pay" for the HW4.0 suite?

With the assumption that HW4 will: Fix Phantom Braking via HD Radar Have better parking distance detection than non-USS HW3 cars I think its well worth it for $2000. And if the tax credit stays at $7500, I think MY will remain the best choice in its class even with a $4-5000 price bump.

California CVRP Rebate - Response Regarding Lowering MSRP to Qualify

CVRP website has been updated to show a message that Tesla may be eligible after January 12, 2023. Can I apply for a rebate for my Tesla Model 3 or Tesla Model Y? | Clean Vehicle Rebate Project I hate that there is still some uncertainty in that sentence because Teslas still aren't on the...

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

I'm in the same position. I'm thinking it's better to forgo half of the tax credit than to having to deal with phantom braking. I had a Model 3 before, but I currently drive an AP1 car, and AP1 is simply rock solid.

    Destination fee and tax credit

Their website certainly makes it sound like it's before destination. Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't abuse it and increase the destination fee to $2,000 or $3,000. I recently ordered a Mercedes and its destination fee was $2,000+.

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

The same price cut dances have been done before for Model 3/S. When Teslas' stop qualifying for tax credit in March tax rebate halves in March and demand drops, you can expect another price drop, possibly for more than $7,500 $3,750. Tesla is not in the business of giving money back, and...

FS: 18" Aero Wheel, RWD Suspension Struts/Springs - SoCal

Sold my Model 3, so I'm looking to sell the spare parts I have. These are pretty heavy so pick up only for now. Location is Irvine, CA. 18" Aero Wheel (some rash as seen in the picture) - $40 Suspension Struts and Springs taken off from a 2018 Model 3 RWD - $250 for the set. (I know it's...

2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, Low mileage, Comfort Coilover, extras, Socal

Dropping price to $47,000. I never applied for HOV sticker, so this should still be eligible.

2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, Low mileage, Comfort Coilover, extras, Socal

It was purchased separately. They had it for $2k at one point, probably the only tier that's worth its price.

2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, Low mileage, Comfort Coilover, extras, Socal

We're selling our 2018 Model 3 RWD Long Range because it's barely seen any driving on it since COVID started. The car has a bunch of upgrades done to it to make it more comfortable, and drives great. The car is located in Irvine, CA. Looking to sell this in one or two weeks. If there's no...

    The elusive thin-walled 13mm socket

I think you can loosen those four 4 bolts, and wiggle the the control arm mount enough to line up those 3 bolts. Not ideal, but less hassle than taking the whole thing out.

What's the size of the bolt?

Range dropping abruptly at end of 50+ mile commute

Back around October, I had similar experience with my Model 3, except it happened before my commutes. I have it set up to finish charging to 80% by 8am, and when I leave for work at 8:30am, the range was often ~10 miles less than what the push notification showed. (IOW, lost 10 miles between...

    The elusive thin-walled 13mm socket

Beggars can't be choosers. No one has actually confirmed that the Snap-On thin wall socket will fit, and those of us who are working on the suspensions ourselves, we just want something on hand that we know will fit.

    Solved: wind noise

While I can’t say whether my car’s gaps are bigger than yours or not, I did have to spend some time to push these in. The key for me was to douse soapy water on the tubing, and stretch it along as I pushed it in.

    The elusive thin-walled 13mm socket

I bought it, and I can confirm it fits. However, when the link was first put up, it was linking to a different item. You can tell it by the URL, it was for a 5-13mm set. The seller probably sold out of them, and change to what it currently is. Here's what the correct set looks like: Edit...

MPP AWD/Performance Coilover Impression and Installation

For installing the coilovers, it's fairly simple because you only need to jack up the front or the back at a time. To work on the front: - Jack up rear right, put jackstand under front right. - Move the jack to jack up rear left, put jackstand under front left. and then vice versa when...

MPP AWD/Performance Coilover Impression and Installation

FWIW, I installed the comfort coilover myself over the weekend, and prior to this, I've only rotated tires. For anyone attempting to do it yourself, I'd suggest reading up both UPP and MPP instructions, as well as watching both of these videos: Each one of those sources has some vital...

Who bought their car in March with basic autopilot for $2k

This is the answer that OP is looking for. The $2k AP was only offered to people who bought the car before the March price cut. I bought the car in 2018, and bought AP for $2k mid-March.

    Early M3P purchases

From what I see, Tesla wasn't trying to skim the incentives from the early buyers, but they were simply following rules of supply and demand. There's a lot of variables at play. Toward the end of 2018, they started making 1,000/week (which I think is still the case), but demand from NA region...

    Road/wind noise

No official source if that's what you are expecting, it is an educated guess based on the forum discussions. I assume they went thru 4+ iterations of the vent design to balance road noise, subwoofer clarity and air circulation.

    Road/wind noise

For road noise, they blocked off the vent on the rear shelf above the trunk, but there hasn't been any real comparison done between the two versions.

    Model 3 Power Liftgate?

    Tesla miles

I think the OP is talking about the odometer number being erroneous, not the estimated range. FWIW, I drove a good amount over the long weekend, and I also had the suspicion that the odometer increase is more than what I actually drove. But since I didn't record the exact numbers (only what I...

Asking: Best Advice / Practice For Nem 2.0 Socal Edison

I'm in almost the same situation you're in, TOU-D-B and activating solar (no PW) soon, so I'm interested in what you hear back from SCE. I fully expect the worst case scenario though.

    Totaled Tesla =*-(

I also had bad experience with City Collision. When I bought the model 3 at the Costa Mesa location, there was a few things I had them put on the due bill to be fixed -- paint, gap, etc. They contracted those out to City Collision, and a week later, none of those problems were fixed, and some...

Lost all sounds. Reboot is not helping

My model 3 is having the same audio problem after updating to 16.2. Experienced it twice in the last week, both times it fixed it self on the next drive. It sucks, so keep us updated if you hear more from Tesla.

Tesla Solar Panel now $2.85/W instead of $3.49/W

I believe you have to use the same installer to install both Solar and Powerwall in the same year in order to get the SGIP rebate (someone can correct me on this). I got a quote from a third-party Tesla Certified Installer as well, and their cost is $11985 - $3480 SGIP rebate - $2552 ITC =...

Tesla vs Local Installers, how did you decide?

I'm wondering what factored into everyone's decision on going with either Tesla, Sunpower/Sunrun/Vivint, or your local installers. I have quotes from Tesla and a local installer, both for 23x330w Panasonic panels: - The local installer is ~5% cheaper and uses micro inverters, and Tesla is...

Tesla Solar Panel now $2.85/W instead of $3.49/W

They did change my contract to use the "Panasonic SolarCity Standard: SC330" panels. I want to say there is no price difference, but I also changed my installation size, so I'm not 100% certain on that. And I read up some more about the warranty, my speculation is that the Hanwha Q-Cells only...

Tesla Solar Panel now $2.85/W instead of $3.49/W

Does anyone have a good feel about whether the price drop is a good trade-off for the shortened warranty and the removal of performance guarantee? The price is now inline with the local installers energysage, and the only difference is the length of the warranty that I can see (and you have to...
