    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

For those who are considering doing a timelapse of the roof work, I'd recommend two things: Be sure your crew knows about the camera and is okay with it. Keep in mind, because they are customer-focused, they are unlikely to protest. Make sure they understand it may catch safety infractions that...

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

I posted a few pictures of the bottom edge and corner in my project album (linked in my sig). I don't see any gaskets on V3 tiles but the bottom section is rubberized so presumably, that helps create a seal when tiles are overlapped. The back of my roof is easier to photograph close up so once...

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

Isn't the roof system is designed to allow ventilation flow from the bottom of the roof edge to the top? I see small holes on the bottom flashing on my roof and in pictures of completed roofs, the ridges also appear to have venting. If air can flow in, so can water. I assume the membrane was...

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

At least four - just spotted a neighbor in San Carlos on the corner of crestview and melendy getting the roof installed. It’s great to see. The industry is also taking notice. We had a guy from PV Magazine taking photos and asking my wife questions.

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

Although work isn't starting until tomorrow, a crew of eight rolled up today in rental cars to scope out the install. They were all flown in from CT. My wife and I were both working from home and we came out of the house surprised they were here a day early. They confirmed they were only...

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

FYI I was reading the fine print on my agreement and gutters are a line item with a zero cost. The gutter line item footnote says, "Standard Gutter installation includes materials and installation from a Tesla approved sub-contractor. Custom materials or finishes can be added via contract...

Good call on the sprinklers, etc. We have a no-mow front lawn so I'll be sure to flag all the sprinkler...

My install start date just got pushed from January 15th to the 22nd. Cited weather (rain in the forecast) and crew scheduling.

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

Woferry, the roof is pretty basic with three main sections. Max solar would have put active solar on the north-facing side of our roof so that didn't make much sense. Here is a diagram showing the active tile placement.

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

The survey took about 4 hours and they'll need access to the attic, roof, and yard. Someone will need to be home during the survey. In my case, no other prep needed and no price adjustments were made after the onsite survey. Now I just gotta pray for no rain the week of my install.

    Solarglass Roof - V3 - any customers?

I placed my Solar Glass V3 order on 10/26 and things moved quickly. Site survey was completed a few weeks ago and the installation is scheduled to start on 1/15. The system design is 9.1 kW, two power walls and 3000 sf of roofing for a system cost of $66k including installation, permits, etc...
