    Onboard Charger Died

It's pretty straightforward to swap to new unit. Getting to the 50 amp fuses is more challenging. Though the unit itself looks easy outside the glycol running though it.

I'm at 135k fixing my own, it's totally acceptable out of warranty at this point. Just can't go to Tesla if you want it affordable.

    Model S Repairs

Car still looking good too for a original pre-order. 5.5 years old now, are there any of this age out there still? I haven't seen a low VIN in a long time.

    Tesla Hate Crimes

I was under the assumption that they were Made in America too. Open one up like I have with my own it's usual suspects. China, Mexico. It's just assembled here not made here. Sucks, I'd rather see American jobs for the American future.

    Tesla Hate Crimes

As someone who owns both a Tesla and F350 diesel. It's amusing to see the trucks look at me different between the two vehicles. When I'm in the truck they just leave me alone. Tesla? Can't tell you how many like to roar past me. Dumb as can be honestly. Makes zero sense? Truck hauls stuff...

Help, Do not remove from the parking and do not open the port

There is terminals for charging the 12v you can use. They are behind the nose cone on mine. Perhaps that will help get it enough juice to start all systems to charge? The reality is that they shouldn't be unplugged. It causes all kinds of hell :(

    Model S Repairs

Door handles are complicated to get to, I've found it's easier to remove the window from the regulator. The plastic clips and the 10mm make it easy. I'd assume that's the Tesla method given the bolt holes align. Though I have no idea, it might be easier to do how I did. I'm removing my rear...

2 years, 50k, what to do next...

I'm at 135k miles with my Model S, I'd not consider upgrading knowing what I know of fixing my car. It's simple and easy to do post warranty so far. The drive train warranty is quite long so I'm not worried about that. Realistically the problems that develop I've seen are related to entry...
