You cannot buy the rubber pieces I have tried multiple ways and got a note right from Tesla that they are not available as aftermarket parts and would need to buy an entire second rack (which is probably what the person did that is selling it without the rubber strips)
Cheers
In my particular case it would be highly beneficial as currently I live in a Condo and have a charging station in my parking spot that is on a different meter then my unit. So I have 2 hydro bills coming to me and this of course includes 2x delivery and regulatory charges which plainly sucks...
FYI, Was able to locate part numbers for the covers:
M3, ROOF RACK, FRONT LH, COVER
1145397-00-A
M3, ROOF RACK, FRONT RH, COVER
1145398-00-A
M3, ROOF RACK, REAR LH COVER
1145399-00-A
M3 ROOF RACK, REAR RH COVER
1145400-00-A
Recently I lost the plastic right rear cover on my Model 3 OEM roof rack while driving down the highway (I did look for it for over 2 hours walking up and down the side of the road). See pics below (right side without cover & left side with me holding the cover piece).
Has anyone had any...
The first time I plugged in and it wasn’t working, charged for about 25 mins and then unplugged and it started blowing hot air. This lasted for about 10 mins and then started cold air.
The second time I plugged in and it started blowing hot air right away, was plugged in again for about 20mins...
After the third time plugging into supercharger it worked fine afterwards (as stated had a big drive today from Virginia to Ontario). For now it seems to have sorted itself out, will keep you updated if something is different tomorrow.
Update when plugged into super charger can heat the car up without any issue and then once I start driving again it blows nothing but cold air again…seems to be definitely software issue and related to the latest update
Same issue, updated yesterday and noticed nothing but cold air coming out. I am driving from Virginia back to Ontario today so far temp outside is ok, but could get chilly before the drive is over. Tried a few things and nothing has fixed it so far.
Dump cold water on them until the ice melts. Then as suggested turn off folding mirrors in the winter.
**DO NOT USE HOT WATER** Rapid expansion will cause issues including cracking/spider glass.
I cannot seem to find that option. Can you let me know where you found this? Screen shot or maybe a picture might help. I have turned off general autofold, but it is still happening when I pull up to my parking spot.
Thanks in advanced
I am experiencing the same thing. I back my car into my parking space in my building and as I pass by the space they fold in and have to manually fold them back out to get in. It has happened ever day this week. Let me know if you find anything, I didn't think there was a setting for...
Hi all, I have had a roof rack on my 2018 3 for a while now and have always used under mount accessories, but last fall I had the unfortunate result of the under mount piece hitting the roof glass and cracking it during install. So recently bought t-bolts in the hopes of using the t slots, but...
You have to remove the underside of the dash (same piece you would remove to get access to the cabin filters) and it is located right near the filter access panel. Note this was done on a 2018 and not sure if things have changed in the 2021 models.
Yes, my passenger side one started like this and got worse over time, I couldn't quite figure what it was at first as it happened almost 2 years ago now. Eventually booked an appointment and had it replaced. My driver side one started like this in October 2020 and had it replaced right away...
I am not sure if you are just looking for data on a bare roof rack or with cargo box or kayaks etc.
As for the bare roof racks, I am sure it is some, but I have had them on for so long now that I just think it is normal. When I have the kayaks or cargo box on it, it really depends on how...
The Tesla Racks are spaced at 28 inches on center. I can't say anything about the SeaSuckers as I have no experience with them.
I do however transport 13.5 foot kayaks all the time without any issues besides range loss.
I basically installed the roof rack as soon as it became available. I have not and do not plan to remove it as I read horror stories of cracked glass and inconsistent torque specifications. I am sure that there is some range loss due to always leaving it installed, but I do have the LR version...
I had this happen as well, took it to Tesla service and they replaced the upper control arm on the right side, stated that the bushings were worn out. Not sure if it is a common issue or not, mine was covered under warranty as it happened with about 70,000km (44000miles).
The videos were not mine, they are from a google search and ones that I just used as an example. They seem to have been taken down or made private. Again I just used them as a reference when I did mine.
Also please note that I did not install the hidden hitch one on my vehicle I opted for...
No issues, the thing is a tank. But seriously when it comes to driving in snow, ice, rain etc. it comes down to comfort level & experience more than the vehicle itself. Everyone has different driving skills.
I am not 100% sure. I did read someone has done that and was successful, but I believe this depends on what type of lights are on the trailer you are towing (believe again they must be LED lights on the trailer for this to work). Someone else explained that doing this would cause the lights to...
Hi Sorn,
I successfully installed a hitch wire harness in my model 3.
I picked up the curt brand harness (59236) from U-haul for $50 (cheapest one I could find).
I also picked up 'T' type connectors off amazon to prevent having to cut/strip factory wiring.
I ended up bringing the power wire...
To all, I did install the wiring harness yesterday (Curt part#59236) and it went very smoothly. Took maybe 1.5 hours to complete. I did end up leaving the connector in the trunk, I still may route it to the bottom.
Again I used the video below as a reference only as I did have different...
Oh and a FYI, the shipping is free once you get to a certain dollar amount (when I shipped the hitch it was free shipping, but just the wire harness didn't meet the threshold).
See pictures below. Yes the wiring harness is a universal model, I do not have to disassemble the bumper again, I am still debating on having the main trailer wire come out of the trunk lid or fish it through to the under side so it is right near the hitch (this can be done without taking the...
I don't have any videos or pics, but I used this video as my primary resource .
This of course is for a hidden hitch style, but the process is basically the same.
I did not ship the wire harness to my house, just picked it up locally at a U-Haul as they wanted $30 to ship a $50 part.
Cost of...
Yes I have installed the hitch, I actually just ordered it to my house and installed it myself. I ended up buying 1/16" thick rubber sheet from amazon and cut templates to put between the hitch and car (from what I read online even with the model S) the little plastic washers don't work in the...
dmd2005 already mentioned it, but this little Milwaukee compressor is awesome, I also cycle a lot and it works awesome for this too. I just wished it would work to blow up my SUP's.
The sticker will be good until 2021, you can buy the next years sticker 90 days before your birthday (June 2021 stickers can be purchased in March). This of course applies to buying stickers for 1 year at a time as you can still purchase a sticker every 2 years, the rules still apply June 2022...
look on amazon for vinyl wrap. There are a tonne of different colours and sizes, the wrap is fairly cheap. It is fairly easy to do, watch some youtube videos and just buy extra wrapping in case you have to pull off and redo. I wrapped mine for about $90 and that included 3M knifeless tape. I...
Use cold water (NOT HOT) either in a bucket or hose and spray down the car. It will melt the ice as it's temperature is above freezing and will allow access. Using hot will warm the car (i.e windows) too quickly and the glass will spider due to rapid expansion.
For anyone living near Guelph Ontario, there is a parts store (Guelph Auto Parts) that sells these sensors for $30 each and they will program them for you. Cheapest I have come across and so far have bought two sets without any issue.
Download the app called plugshare and checkin when using community charges/plugs. This would allow another EV owner to message someone plugged in and see about disconnecting if in dire need.
It is comical how it seems most others (non-Tesla EV rebates) are well into August submissions and Tesla Model 3 owners are still struggling with June submissions. As well it seems that no matter what paperwork you submitted they always need more or something verified, even though it is the...
