EVgo is providing Tesla CHAdeMO adapters, AAA discount for EVgo charging

Electrek is reporting that EVgo will be providing Tesla CHAdeMO adapters at some of its fast charging stations. You are still limited to the adapter's maximum of 50 kW, but it is still much faster than Level 2 charging. "Tesla partners with EVgo to deploy Tesla connectors on their nationwide...

Wireless USB stick for dashcam possible?

After evaluation, I have found that the SanDisk product is fairly useless for use with the Teslacam. 1) You have to unplug it from the car and manually put the device into WiFi mode to access the videos. When it is plugged in, the device never goes out of "USB Mode" on the Tesla Model 3. I...

Wireless USB stick for dashcam possible?

Thanks for this info. I got the same drive. However when I leave the car the app still says that it is in USB Mode even after some time, so I can't see the content without unplugging the drive first. How did you get this to work? Am I missing a step?

eMotorwerks JuiceBox Smart Charging and Model 3 Incompatibility Update

The Juicebox reduces the amps provided to the Model 3 during Charge Events instead of turning it off completely because if it turned it off completely the car would not wake up when a higher current was provided after the Charge Event was over. If the amps provided to the car are low when it...

    Wind noise seems somewhat obtrusive

I have this issue too. The wind noise seems to mainly come from the left rear window. I am going to have Tesla check it out.

eMotorwerks JuiceBox Smart Charging and Model 3 Incompatibility Update

The Smart Charging feature of the JuiceBox is supposed to turn on or off charging when the car is plugged in in order to charge when the cheapest and greenest electricity is on the grid. eMotorWerks then provides you with cash rewards, provided to them from the power company for saving the power...

For Model 3 owners having trouble using the eMotorwerks JuiceBox Smart Charging feature, I received this email from eMotorWerks today: “Thank you for your participation in eMotorWerks Rewards program. We appreciate you identifying your Tesla Model 3 in your JuiceNet mobile app. As a result...

Need Home Charger That Will Work With Both M 3 & Prius H

Using a J1772 is not slower than using the UMC if you have more than a 40 amp circuit. The UMC is limited to 32 amps, which is what you can get out of a 40 amp circuit. I have a JucieBox EVSE connected to a NEMA 14-50 outlet and get 40 amps.

Is it possible to add a charger outlet to my condo?

I have a 90 Amp service to my condo and was able to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage with condo and city approval. However installing a 60 amp circuit if you only have 75 amps total service would probably be pushing it. Maybe you can get your service upgraded or get an additional meter...

Best way to charge when you can not have home charging

This is a battery limitation. All Lithium Ion batteries work best when not fully charged or discharged. Tesla is just helping you get the most out of your battery by putting these limitations in place.

    Direct Charging v Juicebox

I asume you meant that you have a NEMA 14-30 outlet. You can just get a Tesla NEMA 14-30 adapter for $35 and avoid changing the outlet to a 14-50. In any case, you should not put a 50 amp outlet on a 30 amp circuit. That is likely against code and runs the risk of overloading the circuit. To your...

    California DCAL

When you send in the form to the DMV for the HOV stickers be sure that you physically sign the form with a pen. I filled out the .pdf form on my computer and used the Annotate feature to add my signature. The DMV sent it back saying they needed a physical signature on the form. That delayed...

    Two minor questions.

I don't think there is a built in lifetime efficiency counter. However I never reset one of the trip odometers and so it shows the miles since I got the car and the average efficiency over that time.

    Podcast resume using TuneIn?

I have had this problem too. Also, when I get back in the car and try to move the podcast to the time point where I left off, it often will not let me go past the start of the podcast. Moving the slider forward has no effect. It is very frustrating.

    Direct Charging v Juicebox

I have been using the JuiceBox since April. It works fine with my Model 3. If you plug it into a 50 amp plug you can charge at 40 amps. If you plug the 2nd gen mobile connector that comes with the Model 3 into the same outlet you can only charge at 32 amps due to the limitation of the mobile...

    Adapters for Charging in California?

The other adapters that Tesla sells in addition to the J1772, the NEMA 14-50 and regular 110 adapters that come with the car are used if you have a specific other outlet that you are going to be charging from. This could be a dryer outlet in your garage, an older outlet or some other special...

Best way to charge when you can not have home charging

One issue is that using the fast charging supercharger all the time will degrade your battery faster, even if you only charge to 80%. I think Tesla puts a limit on the number of supercharges you can do at full power for that reason and will reduce your charge power after that to save your...

"new" model 3 - April build - but old springs?

I have an April 10 Model 3, VIN 10xxx. Has anyone with an earlier car checked to see which spring version they have? I there any way to check electronically in the car in some service screen or on the website? Thanks.
