Disappointed that Tesla.app doesn't support the Roadster?

That's terrible. I bought mine years ago, and he was very helpful. Sorry to hear a more recent bulk buy went south.

Disappointed that Tesla.app doesn't support the Roadster?

I have one installed in mine. Don't know if the company still makes them but it is from QC charge. Products. I had mine installed behind a flip down license plate cover (done by the Electrified Garage). It cost me a very small part of the trunk, but after the designer saw people doing things...

Disappointed that Tesla.app doesn't support the Roadster?

Road trips might require installation of the aftermarket Jdemo system that lets you charge with direct DC charging (CHAdeMO connector), which are generally the fastest public chargers other than Tesla Superchargers.

Does PEM on 2.5 Roadster support 3.0 battery

When I had my 3.0 v2 installed, they replaced my PEM with a "new" PEM. It was new in that it was never used, but according to some sources, these "new" PEMs were just PEMs manufactured 10 or more years ago that had been sitting in storage.

    $6220 brake line?

They have done work on both the Roadster & my Model 3 in the past, and I was already communicating with them when Tesla came through!

    $6220 brake line?

I don't know, but they did imply that rust was doing in many Model 3's of a certain age due to all the road salt used in the northeast, and they were evaluating how to deal with it. While road salt could clearly be the etiology, and different designs might lessen the impact, the real issue in my...

    $6220 brake line?

The quote was based on the leaking brake fluid. They hadn't seen the car yet. I just dropped it off tonight for them to start work Monday.

    $6220 brake line?

Today, Tesla did the right thing and said they could repair without cost. They said they started offering a rust warranty in 2019, some months after I purchased mine. Good news!

    $6220 brake line?

2018 Model 3 suddenly had brake pedal going to the floor and throwing "low brake fluid" error. Inspection of the garage floor revealed a pool of brake fluid. I set up a repair with Tesla. The estimate? $6220.70 to repair a brake line!! They said they need to drop the battery to get at it. This...

Dirt Roads and Salt Brine: Rusted 2 Y.O. Model Y Rear Brake Lines in New Hampshire

My Model 3 (2018) just started leaking brake fluid. I set up a visit with the Tesla SC. They said to get to the brake lines, then need to drop the battery, and it will cost $6220.70 for that repair!!! That is absolutely crazy.

    2025 Roadster per Elon

I have to agree with point #1. Having a team assigned is not a guarantee there will be progress. Original Roadster owners like me recall the promise that they were working on a Roadster 3.0 (original Roadster) that would include a larger battery, lower resistance bearings and tires and improved...

    Xenon HID upgrade

I don't know, which is sort of while I am asking. I emailed the Tesla Roadster email to see if they could get me the service bulletin for the unit so I could try to figure that out, but I was betting someone on this board would come up with an answer before Tesla! :)

    Xenon HID upgrade

I had the original Tesla Xenon HID upgrade, and I need to replace my low beam bulbs. The one that appeared most promising to me in the forum above as a drop-in replacement not requiring resistors , doesn't appear to be available any more. What are thoughts on the current best (and I mean by that...

I will second the words praising EG. I have had my Roadster there a few times, and they have done top notch work. Great team.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

That makes sense. I got all the upgrades, so I understand that desire. But unfortunately, if he jumped for the R80 right when it came out (and he didn't need it), in retrospect he didn't get the better battery that later purchasers got given the more rapid aging of the first batch. I do love...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

It seems odd to me that a 5-year old Roadster would have needed to have an R80 pack installed. Maybe someone just had money to burn and wanted the extra range, but that car didn't have many miles on its when the battery was changed out. Mine (90K+ presently) was driven a lot from 2011 until 2020...

Reengineering the Roadster: Custom Battery Upgrade for the Tesla Roadster

This is exciting. I got my 3.0 battery about 2 years ago after waiting over a year (cell on a sheet of original pack failed at 8.5 years but I had pre-purchased first replacement battery). I know this one won't last forever, so knowing there will be options down the road with fast charging is...

    Dead Model S Signature

Apparently the battery died, and it has been sitting some time. So I do not think it is drivable on its own. She commented to my daughter that she is not sure it can be moved without damage because the shocks have let it sit so low, but I don't know that whole story.

    Dead Model S Signature

My ex-partner has a Model S Signature (VIN 55). She took that, I got the Roadster. She apparently now has a dead battery and told our daughter the shocks are shot so the car is very low to the ground. She is not interested in replacing battery due to cost. Does anyone have any thoughts? She was...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

You are certainly correct. I would have had to see just how big the benefits were to shell out. I did get the original Chademo adapter, but Tesla made me disconnect it when I got the new battery (and I never really used it anyway). With the Chademo adapter probably on the track to fade into...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

As someone who did 24 hr straight through drives between Miami and Holland, PA in college, I know driving 400 miles or more without a break isn't a great idea, but when you don't have a supercharging option, increasing the range you can drive out to a destination and back home without a charge...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Yes, I remember that promise. Since there was a guy out there who did his own aerodynamic mods after extensive design and testing and claimed heimproved range greatly before the v3.0, I was (at the time) pretty optimistic Tesla would come through and adopt a number of those...but of course...

One of the caps on the control to open/close the driver's front window popped off yesterday. I cannot get it to snap on and stay snapped on. New Roadster 4.0 Battery developement with Model S cells

When I got his original kit, I managed to get it mounted behind the license plate. It took a little of my trunk away, but not much. Looking at his diagrams, it looks like he found a way to design it for that space without taking trunk space. Having said that, the last set of Roadster owners that...

    FSD beta cameras upgrade

FSD - Time to receive beta

I had the same question. I recently had the upgraded computer installed on July 4 on my 2018 Model 3 (Tesla contacted me 18 months or more ago, but I had to wait for it to be easy to get across the border to Montreal!), so I immediately requested the beta FSD. 6 weeks later still waiting, so...

    tjllew Roadster Roadtrips

Of course the ultimate fast-charge approach is to have the aftermarket Jdemo direct DC charging system installed. One of those helped a Roadster win two 24 hour endurance races in Europe, one being relatively recent. It might make getting service on your car at a SC a little more challenging...
