I’ve paid for Tesla’s mobile service to replace my cabin air filters annually…and they’ve needed it. It is amazing how dirty these get in just around town and occasional road trips totaling about 3000-4000 miles/year. I’ve not experienced any of the bad smells others have, so no spray job...
Another approach is to get there before the offender does and take the spot and the charging. When you’re done, notify one of the other EV owners and then swap your vehicle for theirs. Lather, rinse, and repeat as needed.
During bug season I run my 2018 Model 3 through a local spinning-brush conveyor car wash. Gets the bugs, car’s clean. Usually do this twice a month, weekly when encountering higher levels of suicide-prone insects.
I’m very glad for this forum and those who led the charge by upgrading immediately to v2022.20.9, the enfant terrible that castrated existing radars. I then decided to stay on v2022.20.8 and forego the “amazing, incredible new and wonderful features of…wait for it…CrippleVision, or maybe that...
Previously, if I skipped an update it only installed whatever was the latest for my car…there was no incremental approach. Don’t know if that’s still true but I suspect so. I’m still on v2022.20.8 awaiting the much-anticipated AutoPark and Summon functions to return to subsequent software...
We are over-caffeinated with two different Nespresso units, one Keurig, and one Jura, and each has its own descale process. We keep all three owners manuals very close and have to refer to them EVERY time. The Keurig is plumbed to our whole house RO water supply line and that adds a bit of...
Sorry, totally joking. We tried chill, normal, sport modes early on in our Model 3’s ownership…preferred the normal mode for all of our driving and have left it there. May have to look at trying them all again assuming some changes have been made in the different modes since mid-2018.
But I...
How much of the UI can you take? Main screen? Option screens?
Also, I’m not so much taking a stand as enjoying that which works well on my car. I do use, enjoy, and value the excellent AutoPark I have, along with the frequently-used Summon, and the...
Yes, thanks for the reminder. My 2018 Easy Entry still works well so happy about that. Without reading (or listening) closely, the Rivian announcement sounded like the exits get bigger with a software update. Really wanted to see that.
Ordered a Nissan LEAF in 2010, arrived in Feb 2012 as a 2012 model. Battery capacity dived off a cliff, but not fast enough to get a replacement under warranty. Sold in Sep 2023…its range then was about 30 city miles. I still feel somewhat bad that Nissan never leveraged this early-mover...
“…and except for that one thing, I really enjoyed the play.” - Mrs. Abraham Lincoln
These “one off” exceptions happen, perhaps more than one thinks, and explain why stalkless is a bad idea despite being something one can get used to for most situations. I want turn signals I can use in every...
I’ve done the same, and from the beginning of our Model 3 ownership. Our SSD is in the console (2018 model) and is partitioned for the car’s dash cam/Sentry use on one side and music on the other. We did this since we needed a device for the dash cam anyway so why not do both. The music...
Seriously? Never had a stalk problem, nor have I experienced signals not working. Ever. In any of my over four dozen vehicles and decades of different brands. In fairness I’ve replaced two flashers in a classic car but that’s it. Either I’ve been very lucky, or you haven’t.
I have to admit that both Elon and Tim could learn something from RJ…his R2 announcement keynote was about as well-done as I’ve seen. Short, pithy, focused, no drone zooming across donut rooftop, no handoffs to half a dozen others. Not currently interested in an R2 but I do like RJ’s...
Why? That’s been mentioned dozens of times in this and other forums, including just two posts prior to yours. To refresh: my 12v battery replacement was US$117/CAD$155 including the battery, labor, taxes, and fees, all in my driveway by a mobile tech. Still curious?
Our small town had a 12-pedestal site go live late last year. And in another small-ish town 20 miles away, a 16-pedestal site has been permitted. That’s in addition to another site with 8 pedestals 18 miles away in another direction in yet another small town. This last has been in operation...
Or at all for questionable and likely unneeded “assets.” Fisker in bankruptcy again is yet another unwanted nothingburger, like it was the first couple of times. No unique designs, no radical IP, no magic processes, no…er, anything of value?
Another option, and datapoint: Tesla mobile service has replaced my cabin air filters for the past 5½ years. Cost to me has varied from $59-$69 for their 12 minutes of work and two new filters. Two huge advantages for me: the end result works properly, and no unusual yoga posing.
So far I’ve been able to avoid updates by not installing them after they’ve downloaded to my car. I wonder if that’ll remain the case for a mandatory recall update?
Or possibly this scenario:
Guys, someone took this email from Ben in Australia out of our spam folder for whatever reason.
He says AutoWipers are not working well for him (chuckles while speaking).
I’m taking a poll: how many of us should start working Ben’s issue? For those who volunteer...
Great phrase, thanks for the morning chuckle!
I do, I do. Loved it there, gave the left foot something to do after clutches disappeared from my choice of cars.
Faith is a wonderful thing in the lives of so many. For me, I need a lot more convincing that TeslaVision AutoPark is ever going to...
Some excellent suggestions (really workarounds) above, but not directly answering the inquiry.
Yes, that would be logical thinking. And wrong.
To truly get adjustable wipers, you’ll need to trade in your car for another brand.
The lack of stalks is definitely a non-issue in the US…no driver here has used turn signals in years. Ever. Anywhere. This is exactly why Elon chose to eliminate them and capture the cost savings, just like the passenger lumbar feature which he also noted nobody ever used. Good thing we use...
Amen, and the sharper edge varies from release to release.
I’ve successfully avoided loss of radar in my 2018 M3 by not initiating the install process since the last pre-TeslaVision release despite downloading many subsequent updates. Radar still works fine, as does AutoPark, Summon, and even...
There will always be lots of “reasons” and probably unlimited “use cases” and odd “scenarios” in which anything less than a full L3 charging station in every parking slot just won’t work. This is the “perfect” getting in the way of the “good” and causing action paralysis. How about just doing...
Datapoint: my 2018 Model 3’s original 12v battery went sneakers up after about 5½ years. Tesla’s Mobile Service replaced it in my driveway with another of the same for $117. That’s total cost for the battery, labor, and taking the old battery away. No way I could have done that faster, more...
@nemuro please, please perform a search here as this topic has been discussed to death.
But since you asked, for most of us the answer is: “don’t worry about it.” My black 2018 Model 3 goes through the rotating-brushes conveyor-style car wash tunnel about twice a month. No ill effects and I...
