It's odd that my mac address starts with 04:4E:AF, which belongs to LG Innotek. Tesla probably uses LG's wifi chipset but yours seems something else. What vendor does it show for your mac here - MAC Address and OUI Lookup for - Find the Company that manufactured the network card.

How do you tell from Mac address which one is Tesla? The only unknown one I see is for Espressif Inc - could they be the vendor for Tesla? The name is cryptic, not the name I gave to the car.

For PFCU, it was my SS#, DL and last couple paystubs. I guess it’d be the same with LS as well. I haven’t gotten the car yet so there may be some papers to sign and send to CU. They will mail the cashier’s check to Tesla, so I don’t have to deal with much at the time of delivery.

This could mean 2 things - VINs are not always sequential (sort of like account numbers of a bank). Or too many defective/rejected cars. Going by my 52k VIN being built in August, I am leaning towards former.

From what I see reported in this thread, VIN allocation cannot be trusted alone. Build date on the sticker would be more reliable. Since it said Jan 2018 for you, it makes sense. I’d reject a car built before June too.

This is what I heard from my loan officer as well. They don’t do ACH/wire for fraud reasons. I should get the purchase agreement in next couple of days from Tesla to get things going with PFCU.

I don’t know why Tesla would go to that extent - taking the car apart and reusing the parts (with a new VIN) would be easier than doing that.

I think this means VINs are not always in sequence. It’d be illegal for Tesla to lie in Monroney sticker and CarpetMan pretty much confirms it.

This might be what they used for me as UR can’t find my VIN and IDA says it’s in transit. Got the Monroney sticker today and found my 52XXX was actually built in August, not June as earlier speculated. Even if that’s August 1, no older than 6 weeks is good!

Just received the Monroney sticker - build date Aug 2018. She also mentioned the car was on transit. Can’t see in UR though... Based on the above shared experiences and a very responsive IDA, I am hoping for a smooth delivery :)

Would that be considered a refurbished (as in the electronics world) car? Surely, someone rejected it due to problems that Tesla fixed. Now, if the fix happened recently then it probably has all the latest parts and the original defective ones.

My concern with June is that it might be sitting in a lot somewhere and battery might have degraded a bit, which might not be a realistic concern. I’ll still ask my IDA for the sticker.

This has been a pattern for busy SCs. Hope my Richmond VA center is not one of them... the DA has replied in a day so far (though the answer has been always another date for questions like total amount of VIN).
