Clunking sounds on rear suspension when accelerating / decelerating or flexing frame

My wife and kids noticed the subtle clunking sound when accelerating or flexing the frame during the first month of delivery. On the first inspection by the service crew they claimed they couldn't replicate the noise and suggested the rear passenger door frame welding may be impacted and making...

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

Oh gosh, very disappointed to see these defects are still happening. This looks like a recall job or at least a service notice to owners to have their bolts re torqued. Thanks for sharing...My Tesla fix (the original post) is still holding strong. And they did have to replace the stabilizing...

Model Y rear passenger clunking sound only during acceleration and slowing down.

I've read postings of noise during acceleration and slowing down but not for the Model. Y. I've heard people say it's the rear seat belt bucket, but not in my case. Well my new Model Y (3 months old) started making this clunking sound in the right rear seat belt area. It only happens when...

    September 2021 Order Delivery Dates

So regarding the EV rebate and where it currently stands it is pretty significant. You could realize an $8000.00 rebate, and unlike the old $7500.00 tax credit it's not dependent on your tax liability so you're able to realize the full amount regardless. This to me is a sizable credit worth...

    September 2021 Order Delivery Dates

Submitted order reservation 9/25/21 with an estimated delivery date of March 2022. Received notification October 25th that I was matched to a VIN and could pickup that car that week. With the uncertainty of the EV credits (if retroactive or not) Tesla recommended I put my order on hold until...

2018 Non Autopilot people, should we buy AP for $2000 before next Monday?

We acquired our Model LR RWD August 2018 and did not purchase AP or FSD. For one thing we live on Oahu Hawaii so not much long range driving is required unless you commute regularly to the west side to and from downtown. Secondly, the road markings here are horrendous and we tried the "trial...

    Aux 12v battery

Thanks, that's good to know. We keep the car charged to 80% on a daily basis so all indications point to possibly a defective battery. Hopefully this new battery should last awhile. Tesla was very good about covering 100% of the replacement, tow and servicing. They also replaced the chrome trim...

    Aux 12v battery

Thanks for the insightful information rrolsbe, what about when the car is charging? I'm hoping when the main battery is being charged that DC-to-DC converter is active to charge the 12V battery.

    Aux 12v battery

Our Aug 2018 Model 3 12 volt battery warning started March 14, 2020 and by March 17 the car wasn't drive-able. Have to be careful with the windows too. As soon as we received this low battery warning our auto windows when out of wack and actually went beyond its range and damaged our chrome trim...

"Disappearing" Windshield Wiper Fluid [Update: passenger side wiper hose was not connected]

thanks! glad I could help, we kept wondering why our washer fluid was running out so frequently! Hopefully it's not a defect in the design. So far the hose is staying in place so I think Tesla just didn't attach the passenger wiper hose.

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

Talked with the local service center to get more information about what happened. Apparently for my Model 3 the nut, that's normally welded to the frame, broke loose thus causing a chain of events eventually led to the bolt ultimately coming loose. They also opened a ticket with the Tesla...

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

Not sure what's on the other side if it's fixed or tied to a nut. You'll also need to remove the bottom cover to access the bolt. It's a good thing we didn't reconnect the bolt because we had to also replace the control arm as the car kept pulling to the right after they tightened the bolt and...

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

Update, despite this mishap, Telsa Honolulu Service redeemed themselves with excellent service. Last Friday (Valentines day) I used the Tesla app to open a roadside service ticket, originally they said towing would not be covered. Uggh... I managed to find my recent service rep mobile number...

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

A month earlier we had our Model 3 serviced because of hearing some creaking sound on the front passenger side. However as luck would have it, it didn't show when taking it to Tesla Service, however they stated that they re-torqued the front and rear stabilizing arms. Fast forward to today...

Model 3 - Left Windshield Wiper Fails to Clean Window

Check your wiper fluid hose, the passenger side hose was not connected. That's why our wiper fluid was draining out so fast and there wasn't enough pressure to have an even spray from the wipers. Lift the cover and check your hose.

    Model 3 Wood Trim Replacement

Thank for the info! I'm glad we didn't go with the white trim, didn't think about the reflections so I'm glad the Tesla service person told us about some of the glare issues they were hearing from owners. Where did you get your bulk roll from and were you able to get a pattern or you just...

    Model 3 Wood Trim Replacement

I'm planning to wrap my new wood trim with a carbon fiber style wrap (to match my console carbon wrap) to reduce the wear on the wood. I believe the hot Hawaiian Sun during the summer took a toll on the wood condition.

    Model 3 Wood Trim Replacement

I don't think it would be a problem as I've heard the white trim can cause extra glare. When I was getting my wood trim replaced I asked if I had options to replace with a white or black trim and they were will to however we felt the wood trim was the best option. Now it's nice and smooth like...

    Model 3 Wood Trim Replacement

Had my wood trim replaced as it started showing signs of deteriorating or wood grain separation. Did not apply any wood conditioner and per Tesla there is no need to condition the wood on a regular basis. Originally the wood trim was really smooth to the touch. Just last week as I was wiping...

Hawaii - NEM Plus – You can add more PV/Solar

HEC is an excellent company to work with. Late last year I noticed a decline in the production of my LG panels. HEC conducted a power audit using inductive wands to measure and monitor my PV output. They later found out that other installs during that time also were having the same issue. They...

You can also turn on seat heaters with voice control. Just say "Turn on Driver or Passenger or rear seat heaters" and they turn on. Do the same to turn it off. "Turn off Passenger Seat Heater" pretty cool stuff.

Irregular digital ticking noise near steering column

YES, that's what we hear, it's random, sometimes it makes that "clunk" sound but most times not. I hope someone out there had better luck and was able to get Tesla to fix that problem. This started about couple months ago. We acquired our Model 3 back in August of 2018.

Irregular digital ticking noise near steering column

I heard a couple of noises. I heard a faint ticking and a louder clunk sound near the end of the video after the turn signal was enabled. We are having more of that latter sound where it makes a noticeable clunk sound but only when we turn the steering wheel, and that happens randomly so it...

"Disappearing" Windshield Wiper Fluid [Update: passenger side wiper hose was not connected]

Sure no problem, pictures are easy to understand vs having to read a long description. I'm just surprised it's happening to other owners. It's just bothers me that these simple last steps of QA testing is overlooked. Obviously with one of the hoses disconnected there won't be enough water...

"Disappearing" Windshield Wiper Fluid [Update: passenger side wiper hose was not connected]

Adding photos to the windshield wiper fluid issue. This is where Tesla failed to connect the passenger wiper blade hose. With little or no pressure resistance on the unconnected spout all of my washer fluid spewed all over the battery compartment area. I wished I looked at this area sooner...

"Disappearing" Windshield Wiper Fluid [Update: passenger side wiper hose was not connected]

So I had the same issue and I found my problem. I removed the passenger washer fluid hose and tested. NO washer fluid coming out. Back tracked the problem to the passenger wiper hose. It was NOT connected to the Y fluid feed. With high hose resistance only on the drivers side most of the fluid...

Model 3 Frunk Daily Users: Dent Issue?

Totally agree, also according to the Model 3 Owners Manual you have to close the frunk with two hands just next to the Tesla emblem. My natural reaction was the press on the Tesla emblem to do a one hand frunk close (the RED area!) but that's a no no....

best model 3 license plate bracket

check out Tony's "The Bandit" it's not magnetic but provides enough space to clean all sections of the front bumper without having to remove the holder or license plate and it's very easy to install. Both designs are great because it does not obstruct the vents to cool the battery.
