Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

Well, I would defer to you, since you have more time sitting in a Model 3. Our time in each of these cars was 30-40 minutes.

    Porsche Taycan Vs Model S

    You won’t regret it........

How many Y do you spot in a day?

I have never seen a Model Y driving around town (a number of 3s and Ss) until today. One was parked in the lot at my office and I saw one parked in the driveway on the way home.

    Thoughts On e-tron GT Family

That is my plan, as well. Later in the year (current lease up next year at this time) I plan on driving the Taycan, Audi E-tron GT RS and the Model S plaid or plaid +. I will have a much better idea of what I want then.

    Should I Get a Tesla?

First off, you have had some incredibly sh*tty luck when it comes to cars. My wife and I just test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E in the same day last week. (Thread link: Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday). We decided to go with the Model...

    Took delivery of Model Y

I wouldn’t reject the car, but would definitely attempt to get that fixed.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

We will set up 2 home chargers, because the MY will be garaged in our detached 2nd garage (our handicap accessible van takes up 2 spots in the attached 3 car garage due to the mechanical ramp). I am of the same mind, if I think about the plaid version just go all in with the +. My favorite car...

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

Pretty much the first post explains the rationale. Underwhelmed with the test drive when directly compared to the Y and 3 and way too many bugs, so far.

    New S: Yoke or Nope?

I would give the yoke a whirl. Most humans are adaptable........most.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

Yeah, my wife and I were surprised when he jumped in the back seat, especially since we just drove the Teslas by ourselves. And yes, super annoying.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

Unfortunately the test drive of the Mach E was with a salesman who had you drive a particular route. It had no stretch where I could really see how it handled while cornering, even at moderate speeds. Hell, the route was mostly 35 MPH zones. The Y and 3 we took on winding side streets and the...

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

My wife was more than happy with the performance of both cars we drove. The S isn’t for comparison to the Y, 3 or Mach E it is for me to see how it drives. My lease is up in a year, and I most likely will go with the S in plaid or plaid +.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

We also did not remove the floor of the space.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

For us, I guess it has more to do with the shape of the space. Not very roomy from floor to the inside of the hatch.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

The sound system in the Mach E was nice. I am more of a “as long as the system plays my music, I’m good” kind of audiophile. To me all 3 sound systems will work for us.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

Both the Y and 3 were the LR version. Still way more sporty than the Mach E. We didn’t test the performance models, just because it’s for my wife and she isn’t into that (Don’t ask me why?!?). I will hopefully be able to test drive a Model S plaid version later in the year.

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

My wife and I discussed almost every point you stated and came to the exact same conclusion. Tesla has been around longest, has by far the most robust charging network and has the edge in range (which hopefully soon will take an even bigger leap with the 4680 battery pack).

Test drove the Model Y, Model 3 and the Mach E back to back to back, yesterday

We are looking for a new car for my wife. We decided to buy our first EV. We visited our daughter and and we’re able to test drive both Teslas while there. On our the way home we were able to stop at a Ford dealer who had a Mach E available for test drives. We drove the model Y first, white...

Good to know. We have even older openers (~ ’92)
