Living with the 16v LV battery

Won't camp mode drain the battery too quickly? Most fridges have very low power consumption and could run for days.

Living with the 16v LV battery

I've had mine (WORX WX092L 20V 2.0Ah 2 in 1 Cordless Inflator) for about 18 months and it has worked flawlessly. Had a slow leak once where I had to fill the tire from 15 to 40lbs a few times and it only took a few minutes. Tops offs take a minute or two. Comparing to the TPMS readout, and a...

Living with the 16v LV battery

I measured the voltage on my 2022 refreshed S with a volt meter today and it read 15.5. I think this is pretty typical from what I've read here.

Living with the 16v LV battery

I have this...cordless and works great because it has its own battery no worries about 16v Tesla LV battery. Much easier to use because you're not dealing with a cord. Amazon.com

Best TRUNK refrigerator/freezer in 5 seater Model X refresh vs Original Model X.

Could the failures be due to the 16v (15.5v actually) li-ion battery Tesla uses in the refresh?

Vendor Refreshed Model S - some accessories we made, will continuously update

Bought this off Amazon. The console insert is too small for the refreshed S (2022) and doesn't sit flat in the opening.

Audiophile Question - FLAC 24/96 Playback

The most important determinant on whether you can hear the difference, whether it’s MP3 Flac or Hi-Rez flac, is how The music was processed post production. Most main stream music after 2005 was compressed and brickwalled in the studio, which removed most of the detail in the music. So MP3 will...

Review of 19” Goodyear Exhilarate UHP All Season Tires

I just replaced the 19" Conti's on my LRRWD (vin ~25,000) Model 3 with Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate tires. I've only had them for a few hours but I'm noticing a rumbling sound at highway speeds (>45mph). Not so much vibration, but it's like there's a truck with a loud exhaust driving next to me...

    Supercharger - Vienna, VA

Trees were a big issue here last year. Wawa cut down some mature trees behind the property that they weren't supposed to per the site plan. However, they cut them down at the recommendation of the Fairfax County arborist. Big brewhaha with the neighbors and town of Vienna. But they're planting...

    High pitched whine

Ever since the 2019.36 update (the one that increased power 5% and enhanced regen) the high pitched whine is much more pronounced, especially under hard acceleration, and now there is also a low pitched "rumble" at all speeds, but especially noticeable at low speeds) that I never heard before...

Using your Tesla as a home automation controller and responder (requires some programming knowledge)

Similar, but not as in depth from what I've seen. The ISY994 has a very full featured programming language that runs 24/7 in the background and also links with 1000's of other home automation devices across several different systems (X10, Zigbee, etc.).

Using your Tesla as a home automation controller and responder (requires some programming knowledge)

Posting in the M3 forum but this applies to any Tesla S, 3, X, Y. I wanted to share something I have found extremely useful… If you’re into home automation then seriously take a look at the Universal Devices ISY-994i and the Tesla Polyglot. It configures your Tesla as a home automation...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Not sure if this is the same issue but I started hearing a clicking sound (kind of like a brake shim shifting) whenever I would accelerate or decelerate. It turned into more of a ping pong ball bouncing sound (softer clicks after the first) after a while. Took it to the SC and they tightened the...

    Tire rotation frequency and pattern

The manual now states... Rotate tires every 10,000-12,000 miles (16,000-20,000 km) or if tread depth difference is 2/32 in (1.5 mm) or greater.

"sentry mode disabled due to sentry system error" ?

Received the same message after I upgraded to 2019.24.4. All the files on the thumb drive were blank and 1k in length. Submitted a service request and they escalated to engineering. They responded today that the issue will be fixed in a future firmware release. Until then I don't have sentry or...

[POLL] ELDA users, what is your experience? (Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance)

Not afraid to drive in the center of the lane at all. From my experience on this trip (rural Interstates in MD, NY and PA) truck drivers are far more distracted than they used to be weaving back and forth in and out of their lane. Moving to the left about a foot from center but still well within...

[POLL] ELDA users, what is your experience? (Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance)

On a 1000 mile road trip on mostly 2-lane Interstate highway ELDA would try to steer the car back to the center of the lane whenever I moved to the left side of the left lane to pass a semi-truck or other large vehicle. It actually forced the car CLOSER to the truck I was passing rather than...

    Model 3 Software Update 2019.5.x

Just installed 2019.5.15. M3 LR RWD upgrading from 2018.50.6. Queried the API - i.e. Asked Alexa how far I could drive before the upgrade...233 miles at 76% charge = 307 miles range. Ran the same query after the upgrade and got 242 miles at 75% charge = 323 miles range! Love it!!

    High pitched whine

Re: the motor whine -- funny you should mention that, I noticed a louder than normal high-pitched whine in the motor at low speeds last night with the hvac fan and music off. I just attributed it to driving on a recently paved street (which is where I heard it) and there being less tire noise...

USB port management if the Dashcam update in Rev 9 takes 1 port

DashCam USB corruption - getting frustrated - whose solution WORKS??

16GB is sufficient for the cam in its current configuration (unless you're saving a lot of files and don't move them to a PC regularly). The extra space can be used with a dual partition for music.

DashCam USB corruption - getting frustrated - whose solution WORKS??

This solution ([V9] How to Format USB into 2 Partitions for DashCam and Music [Windows]) posted by @SomeJoe7777 worked perfectly for me with a Sandisk 256Gb Sandisk Cruzer Glide USB 3.0 available at Costco for $40 (Costco Wholesale). Thanks for the write up. It worked perfectly for me with a cheapie 256Gb Sandisk Cruzer Glide USB 3.0 available at Costco for $40. Model 3 drops wifi connection when it goes to sleep

Thanks @Eno Deb. If the car is disconnected from the wifi network how does it receive firmware updates via wifi? Does Tesla support have a way of waking up the car and reconnecting it to the wifi network in order to receive updates that way?

Model 3 drops wifi connection when it goes to sleep

My M3 drops the wifi connection when it goes to sleep (e.g. when I park in the driveway and go into the house). When I wake it up either via the Tesla phone app or by getting in the car it reconnects. As long as I keep the phone app active or sit in the car it will stay connected but as soon as...
