Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

They ordered a new front drive unit part number 1478000-00-D and a new rear drive inverter, part number 1100170-00-E.

Flatbed to service center. Barely could get it to the side of the road.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

My front drive motor just failed on my 2020 Performance S. Just 6,000 miles on it. Never had an issue before. It’s currently being replaced so I don’t know what part number I’ll get.

I want to upgrade to large DU on my 2021 LR MS - Am I crazy?

Having driven both and buying a 2020 performance, I can tell you there is a noticeable difference in acceleration by just mashing the throttle and not using Ludi +. That said, you’ll never be able to do the upgrade unless you sell your car and buy a performance model.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Interesting. Yeah I have mine as low as it can go (wish it went lower even). I’ll have to check this out.

    Drivers seat a tad loose

Any updates on this? I have a new Raven Performance MS and I feel a clunk on hard acceleration in the lumbar part of the seat. I am thinking maybe the seat is loose, but not sure of the cause.

Used Teslas only 1 year / 10k warranty as of October 15, 2020.

Trust me, I am not trying to defend or condone Tesla's new used policy, and I also think the fact that they do not put pictures up anymore is simply crazy and makes the process almost pointless from a consumer standpoint. All I was saying is that the warranty period is in line with other CPO...

Used Teslas only 1 year / 10k warranty as of October 15, 2020.

Title is a bit misleading. They give an additional 1 year / 10k miles on top of any remaining warranty. This is pretty consistent with some of the other manufacturers. Granted it’s shorter than the German CPO warranties, but we all know Tesla doesn’t recondition their used cars.

How often does Tesla release new inventory?

My purchase price at the end of Q3 was 86,100 for a Performance. Not quite 10k off, but pretty close. Very happy with the car. Charging for free at work is a nice bonus.

How often does Tesla release new inventory?

Spousal pre-approval is key to being able to pull the trigger. It helped me that used car prices are way higher than they were 6 months ago, so I got a much better trade-in value that made the purchase of the demo Model S a reasonable thing. Good luck.

How often does Tesla release new inventory?

He could be looking at "new" cars with a few miles on them. Those that were used for loaner cars or demo cars by Tesla. I found mine right at the end of Q3 with a great discount due to miles and a scratch. I think you just have to be ready, and if one comes up that matches what you want, you...

    Delivery Sunday 2020 S Performance

Took delivery of a 2020 Model S Performance last week. Delivery process could not have been easier. I was in-and-out in 20 minutes. Car was discounted $8,500 because it had 2400 miles on it and a small scratch on the driver door (hardly noticeable because it is a white car). The interior...

    Tesmanian Floor Mat Disappointment

Now that you have had them a while, have they gotten better? Can you give us a more detailed review? They are a decent savings over the Tesla branded ones direct from Tesla.

    CPO facelifted volume

I have been following P90D stock (facelift only) for over 8 months and I have also noticed that the availability of these cars is nearly non-existent now. However, 8 months ago, there were TONS of them available as CPOs. I also think that Tesla is holding them to flush out stock of pre-facelift...

    How low can it go?

This is actually higher than it was 4 months ago. It seems like they have taken off all facelift cars from cpo and are trying to push the old cars now.

    CPO Experience/Process December 2018

Are you trading in a vehicle? Are you allowed to drive your vehicle in the mean time while adding miles onto it? This is something I have wondered about the CPO experience as I would be trading in a vehicle.

    Model 2013 with 100,000 miles

I have had coworkers buy used cars that have been smoked in. You cannot get rid of cig smoke smell. You can minimize it, but every now and then it will hit you in the face. It sinks into the plastics and foam behind the fabrics. Some days you’ll leave the car and you will bring that smell with...

    Beware of 5YJSA4H48FF091551

My question is: did they send you these photos upon request, or did you take these photos yourself when you went to take delivery? I get the feeling that Tesla is hiding damage like this when they send photos of potential CPO cars that someone may want to buy.
