    Regen single failure?

I was going to suggest the same thing. If you let the service center know I imagine they could pull the logs and figure it out. Even if it's something different than what's been mentioned, it would allow Tesla to get ahead of any *potential* issue. Not that it's an issue, but if it were I'm sure...

Yikes 9 minutes, okay thanks though for the replies. I'll try and catch it from home then.

Elon Musk: How I'm Guaranteeing Tesla Model S Car

Hi Montgom626, would it be possible to provide a brief summary of this in text? The reason I'm asking is because my work blocks YouTube access (and I'm always at work when browsing TMC ;) ).

Ingress & Egress is not good in the MS

Wasn't that being fixed/replaced retroactively? PUALLUP BILL, very cool to hear you and your wife getting something this cool!

    Seat post wear?

It would have to be the S 60 as I don't have any need for the 85 as specd. My wife and I are actually in the market for a new car too. The S was on our list a year ago (and if you recall I actually had a reservation at one point) but we just can't afford the potential for vehicle down-time, nor...

Supercharger - Barstow (EXPANDED, 5 stalls added, now 16 total)

I just like hearing about all this Model S action at a supercharger (and Tesla personnel servicing it). Exciting to see more and more on the road every week!

    Tesla on Jalopnik.com (leasing story)

I liked the $100 per hour even more...because when you're making $100 an hour, the most important consideration when shopping a car is affordability.

Upset at Major Headliner Issue - Anyone notice this? (resolved)

This sort of stuff makes me want to go volunteer my labor for Tesla and take care of it, it's annoying to see them missing the easy stuff. Just give me the lowest, filthiest, throwaway Model S as compensation ;) I'm considering doing this for SpaceX by the way, just because I support the...

"Ferris! The miles aren't comin' off!" Sorry, had to say that. Love that movie.

Upset at Major Headliner Issue - Anyone notice this? (resolved)

So, umm...is Tesla going to proactively notify all vehicle owners affected by this or are they just gonna wait to see if the customer notices a difference in headliner and questions it? It's sort of a no-brainer.

Something is happening (Tesla website down) - Leasing Option News

His personal guarantee probably holds as much water as his statement that the Model S can be leased for $500 a month.
  14. jimbakker666

    Today's lease announcement was anticlimactic

Came here to read up about the $500/month Model S lease. Found out it's more than double that in reality. Good job Tesla, your marketing always delivers the stinkeyes.
  15. jimbakker666

    Seat post wear?

You're not whining. You paid $70K+ to a company for their product and you expect that product to be as-described. Frankly, PMs to GeorgeB shouldn't be necessary to resolve a basic customer issue. If they aren't properly equipped to handle the basics, that's their problem to figure out not yours...

    Official: Model S Service Plans

Does this make anyone else uncomfortable about the service package? Tesla can change anything they want at any time, without notification, and for any reason? I'm only a potential owner, but if I owned the vehicle I wouldn't prepay the service as I think the price will drop once competition...

driver crashes Model S into restaurant

Tesla should begin offering those long metal car whisker things as part of their 'Technology Package' lol.
  18. jimbakker666

Convincing parents of the Model S?

I think this is really sound advice for someone who is new to the S. The drive might be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but hearing all the different issues cropping up for early adopters may be enough to dissuade a buyer who needs reliability. My wife and I are both interested in the S...

Texas Legislative update: Please help out if you live in Texas

This is such garbage that Tesla is basically being prevented from operating in Texas. What possible reasoning (besides corruption) could lawmakers have to oppose Tesla vehicle sales in Texas? Hope you guys can get this passed!
  20. jimbakker666

Upset at Major Headliner Issue - Anyone notice this? (resolved)

As you said, it's the principle of the issue. Nobody likes a switch-a-roo.

    Tesla Refuses Model S - Roadster Trade-In

I'm guessing they picked it up from you and shipped to their service center, so maybe you can demand that they ship your vehicle back to you (at their cost) if they aren't going to provide you with trade-in? That would provide some leverage in getting them to honor the trade-in, as the...

    Tesla Refuses Model S - Roadster Trade-In

Is the Roadster in your hands, or at the service center? Regarding the trade-in offer, did you receive that in writing or was it verbal? Just curious so we can understand all the facts here. Sorry to hear about the headache.

No car after 24hrs of taking delivery

Yes, it's been like this for awhile. I drop in from time to time to see if the general attitude has veered more neutral. It hasn't. It's frustrating because it keeps people with neutral bias from asking questions, pointing out concerns, etc. Who wants to come to a message board where they...

New Jalopnik hit piece? Fair and balanced?

I was all set to cry foul before actually reading the article. The guy hasn't misrepresented anything, and he even stated that people who have had issues still love their vehicles. I don't see why he'd need to explain that the issues cited were fixed, because he's not writing about Tesla service...

    Windshield wipers and de-icing

Just what I was thinking. Would be cool if Tesla implemented a fix/workaround through a software option to place the the wipers in something like 'freeze prevention' mode when parking, with the software quickly jogging the wipers up before powering down the vehicle. I think that sort of thing...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Yeah that's a good one, gets a laugh outta me.
  28. jimbakker666

Okay, so there is one really poor person buying a model S.

    1) Sell your Apple / Pepsi / TSLA stock to try and generate $7500 in tax liability. 2) Take the money you just received from the stock sale and repurchase APPL and/or Pepsi stock in the same amount, on the same day or even in the same hour if you'd like. The initial stock sale will generate a...

My New Model S by Soflauthor (First 24 Hours and then 1 week later...)

That's awesome...and look how successful the Prius turned out ;)
  30. jimbakker666

Okay, so there is one really poor person buying a model S.

You mentioned owning TSLA. Do you have any other stock holdings you could sell at profit to add more liability?

My New Model S by Soflauthor (First 24 Hours and then 1 week later...)

Congrats Soflauthor! IMO this is exactly the sort of the thing that will spur on new reservations. When I was in Maryland a few months back, I had a conversation at a party with a few people who had never heard of Tesla. I showed them the website and they were all very surprised at how nice...

    Racked with indecision...

Agreed. It sounds like you'd be sinking an awful lot into a vehicle (and a company) that is still working out all the bugs. If you believe in Tesla, invest in them and use the return you *may* get to buy gen 3 (or even the X). At least then you wouldn't be so committed financially.

Is anyone actually buying the 40 kWh Model S at this point?

I canceled well before when options pricing came out, but if I still had a reservation I would have canceled by now for the same reasons you've listed. I was also buying a 40 though I'm not constrained by budget. BTW I didn't vote in the poll since my vote wouldn't really be valid.

High in the Rockies (Cottonwood's Story)

It's fantastic to hear that the only issues or gripes people have encountered so far with real live Model S's are things which will be fixed very easily by Tesla. Congrats!

Model S Service Contracts - the poll edition(tm)!

And in some circles, a person taking the time to go back and edit their own post to keep things factual would be considered upstanding and in the spirit of keeping things honest. I match tone-for-tone. If you tell me to 'give you a break', you should not expect an apology. If you tell me...

Model S Service Contracts - the poll edition(tm)!

I've been there dude. I had a reservation a year ago and canceled after options pricing was released for what I felt was dishonest advertising by Tesla. I'll admit feeling a growing sense of vindication here as people become pissed at the 'less maintenance than an ICE' claim...you wouldn't...
  43. jimbakker666

Model S Service Contracts - the poll edition(tm)!

Actually on second thought, the service plan pricing might not be too big a deal. The car is already warrantied, and all warranty work performed within a service center will already be free of charge, right? Unless you expect the car to regularly fail outside of warranty coverage and away from a...

Model S Service Contracts - the poll edition(tm)!

But if the S is 'simpler' than an ICE, why should a tech need to spend that much time with it? Those items listed above do not take several hours to to inspect.

Deferring my order until forum members start to take delivery of their Sig's

Disco, I rarely comment much anymore because the responses I get tend to be pretty cold, and I'd rather not come here on my leisure time to argue with people. But, I consider myself a very straight-shooter on things, fair and unbiased, weighing the facts and data until reaching a conclusion...
