Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No, it's the end honestly, I'll just be glad when it's all over..... I can see that nothing I do here is gonna make much difference now... Plenty of opportunities to get out above $275.... And plenty of heads-ups, from multiple sources, as to why....... But if your (collective)...

HAHAHAHAHAHA.... Dude! I'm one guy on a laptop.... If whatever ~I~ think or say somehow has an effect on ~your~ position, you have one weak position.... Wow.... Good luck, man.... You're gonna need it....

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Wow... Explains a lot though... Good luck to all.... As with the kindly old nurse in this picture, it's time for me to retire from here... I tried....

You mean Carlos?? Good Lord, man.... Your take is about as far from the truth as can possibly be.... (and ~anyone~ can read Carlos' posts to see the truth here) The guy was injured while on the job at Tesla, and Tesla denied his Workman's Comp claim.... He clearly needed help, and some...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Seriously, you're not reading this correctly.... 1) Did not JB's sale on 1/28 make the graph go up from the prior column, the 1/16 column?? Roughly about $4 mill.... And it goes up by that amount... If you don't see that, I really don't know what else to say.... 2) Linda Rice's...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

While I agree 100% with your statement above, I ~really~ just appreciate that you understand legitimate reasons to short companies.... There can be many reasons, of course, but sometimes, it can be just because the company has a flawed product, and it kills people... Sadly.... :-/

I'm not making an excuse, I'm agreeing with you, dude.... He's often a jack-@#%.... JFC....

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Thank you for this opportunity... I won't take too much more of your time, but I ~do~ appreciate this moment.... It's at least the "fair" thing to do, right? <<<<<Hmmm suspiciously, JB has a total of $21M, not $55M as your other graph seems to say. And another lie: you can see in the table...

To be fair, Fly is in Europe, and tracked deliveries in that area on practically a daily basis... NO ONE on the "Q" side of the ledger was ~surprised~ by the disappointing Q1 sales.... Yet many ~here~ were... So, drink whatever flavor Kool-aid you want, but on the "Q" side, it tasted pretty...

It would be more accurate to say: homophobic jokes about federal judges = "and Mark makes some bad (and cringe-worthy) jokes...." Certainly cringe-worthy, and not something I would have said... But thank you for making an incorrect assumption about me... Tells me much about you, right?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Okay, last post of the day... *Smokey hear's a collective ~FINALLY!!~ from the crowd* ;-) Anyway, lots of thoughts here as to the news of the FCA / Tesla agreement earlier today, with some pretty decent numbers thrown out there... And we all agree any money coming in IS a good thing (we...

You're probably right... I didn't think about how much individual Board members might be suffering with the mere pittance of a yearly salary they receive... Perhaps you could post those numbers, for anyone here curious?? Might be enlightening......as to why they are always so happy to...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm presuming this is for me? But yes, they absolutely ~could~ be slowing these sales down, or even put their plans on hold... But that's the point... They're not... They're accelerating... ~NOT~ holding off for the future price appreciation.... And at the rate they're going, several...
  18. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

To be fair, it's more that "steady-state" demand is such that they lose money, rather than "no demand".... And as such, they eventually run out of money... When that actual point is, is much the debate.... I have no answer to that one myself... It's pretty clear that the largest Board members...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

FWIW, gloating is never a good look, but shorts are quiet.....because ~banning~ them....tends to do that... Kinda simple, to be honest.... And eventually we learn it's just not worth the trouble..... Good luck though!

Somewhat related to the Calgary situation (that one's still confusing, as seems odd to fire an entire service team, only to replace them), but now there is a discussion on Twitter regarding the Plano, TX Service Center closing down now too, as of today... Makes some sense, tbh, as Dallas/Ft...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As I tried to explain to Carl a few weeks ago, VIN registrations don't mean anything... You can register as many as you want... And it's almost like Tesla does it on purpose, just ~to~ throw the Bloomberg tracker off... (and it works!!) Regardless, looking at VIN registration numbers will...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Fair point.. I read voluntary as un-paid, but I can see how it could certainly be the way you described it... But I didn't "claim" they closed stores, it happened....And then it was quickly reversed - although a few locations were actually closed and others are in the process of closing...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No, missed the party... Dang it!! But if was a "promotion", that implies to drum up sales, with the huge inflatable floppy tube-guy on the lot too... Makes sense, make a party of it... But this is "deliveries"... Implies just need to deliver already sold cars to customers... Even if...

Thank you for the kind words... Appreciated... But I'm afraid in this case, I see the glass as WAY less than half-full... Sorry.. :-/ OTOH, you can't tell me you didn't chuckle - at least a little - when picturing the bear riding around on the the tricycle... :-)

Or......you're just getting played....as the inventory liquidation ramps.... Better to sell now....at literally any price you need to, to move that metal.....than after......when nobody will touch them... Good luck, and trade safe....

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TMC, 3 hours ago: There's very little inventory, NO WAY thousand's of cars are sitting in lots around the country! (just ask Jerry, he'll tell you) ;-) (and in fairness to Karen, she HAS been telling you there is - props to her) TMC right now: 30 THOUSAND cars, still need to be delivered...

  31. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That is a fair response, and I appreciate it... I'm not convinced yet that Tesla IS a tech company, and not just a car company, and that probably accounts for the majority of our differences in how we look at it... And as long as growth continues, it should work out for you... Trade safe...
  32. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Seems they'd want more orders....and then they build more cars.....and then they make more money... Thought that's what auto manufacturer's do... And I thought that's how this whole Tesla thing worked.... Take order, build car, deliver car, cash check... That's not how it works?? That...

  34. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

First, you're "assuming" they're maintaining profitability... You may be right, you may be wrong, but you're just assuming at this point... And as the ASP gets lower and lower, that seems like a bigger and bigger assumption... Secondly, my point wasn't that a company (any company) shouldn't...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well, again, ~not~ Donn..... But thanks to you, I ~do~ now know whom you're talking about... So thank you for that... And I am retired, in a way....... Thanks for asking.. But just like you, now standing by....now just watching the liquidation of inventory.... And as I'm sure you know...
  36. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Fair enough... Yes, the ~2018~ cars have all just been waiting for paperwork to be finalized... Got it... Made it easy for you to see the obvious, and I see you're having no part of it... Good luck...
  37. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

BTW, Jerry, plenty of ~brand new~ Tesla's, 2018's, for sale... S's, and X's... Tesla's own web page... Most with 50 miles on them, which I believe is the standard new car default mileage for Telsa.... I don't know what city in Texas you're in, but here's dozens and dozens just in Texas...
  38. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'll just limit this to your first point, but I'm sure you know that VIN registrations have no bearing on production or sales, right?? I mean, we all know you need one VIN per car you make, but you can ~register~ as many VINS each year as you want, and make no-where NEAR that many cars...

Thanks, Nico.. Two invoices makes perfect sense, just surprised there were two different invoice ~numbers~...... But thank you for the follow-up...
  40. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I get the two invoices part... Not sure I get why two different numbers?? A deposit invoice, and a balance due invoice, both with same invoice number, just makes more sense to me... And I'm not saying Tesla is double-counting cars... But if someone IS trying to track European sales, and IS...
  41. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So you're saying you got two different invoices, with two different invoice numbers (about 1700 apart), for the same purchase? That IS interesting... Appreciate following along with your buying experience... Good info... Thank you..

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Jerry, I've seen you write that several times, and just curious what you see that leads you to believe that... And I'll say upfront I'm not going to debate the demand issue, just because I'm not looking to get banned again, but, I am trying to understand what you're seeing that makes you think...

I used to have a Porsche 928... Fun car to drive, but the 2+2 seating... Oh man.. Those rear seats were good for only two things... A few bags of groceries, and checking off someone's box that said "Yep, it's got 4 seats.."... hahaha
  45. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I've thought about a few different ways to answer this, but in order not to get banned again, I'm just gonna go with this: You seem to be assuming a LOT of cash there.......that I don't believe is gonna happen like you think it is... But you have your opinion, I have mine... Both worth...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm guessing you're using the term "long term debt" purposefully, but you're not mentioning the "short-term" debt due this year... Which is not "fact-checking" at all, regarding the point of your response.. There is both the: 4/1 - $182M - Solar City debt - (that they've been rolling forward...
  47. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Fair enough.. Thank you for that... I'm still not sure what the advantage is to paying $2500 now is, other than to say you did... It's not like once these are built, Telsa won't sell you a car if you didn't pony up $2500 now, but on the point we're discussing, you make a fair point..
  48. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's not ~arbitrary~... It's what that sentence actually says... I'm not just making it up... We can agree on that, right? But believe whatever you want... You win.. I give... Not worth it..
  49. Smokey4141

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Okay.. I just read what I read... ".......and is not a deposit on the vehicle".. Maybe ~not~ so obvious... Suit yourself though, it's not my $2500.....

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

"Deposits".... Money up-front... Or, in this case, "Processing costs"... Everybody that buys early still gets to pay full price, in addition to the $2500 spent last night.... Peter Roselle on Twitter
