60 kw/hr loss of efficiency in switching to 20" T Sportline from 18" aero (uncovered)

Hah, nope! I commute to work a couple of days and I work from home the rest. 360 Wh/mi was my average today. :(

60 kw/hr loss of efficiency in switching to 20" T Sportline from 18" aero (uncovered)

I have the stock 20" Performance w/ PUP tires and I'm constantly in the 310~340 Wh/mi rating on the freeway. My 12k lifetime average is 311 Wh/mi. I have a long commute, 195 mi, and I can make it to work if I keep it under 75, but usually with < 10% charge remaining. I do have a high elevation...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

The point is that he only thinks it could be argued as such, and thus a "corrective action" taken will be tempered with that in mind, and this is what we saw: a promise to pay $5k in exchange for your FSUC. If he had said, "yes, it was too much too soon", a corrective action wouldn't be...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

Unless you are purchasing a collectible car, cars are in fact not investments; cars are a deprecating asset. The very moment you purchase a car and drive it off the lot, you lose money.

[Poll] P3 Free Lifetime Unlimited Supercharging vs. $5,000 Refund

On the fence for me really... I drive about 40k miles a year, but I only currently only supercharge about 1/3rd of those miles (home and work charger). However, the break even point for me is a lot sooner than most people, and after that, it's all gravy! I could change it up to shift about...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

He’s literally offering a buyback for the unlimited supercharging; it’s not a refund. It’s a marketing move to appease people; this costs Tesla extremely little and gets more people off unlimited charger, which is what he wants anyhow. $5000 = 75,000 miles at today’s energy costs (based on...

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

He said “arguably too much too soon”. There is a huge difference between the two sentiments; quotes should be represented appropriately.

    Performance Upgrade Price Change!

Because they don't want another config to build. People would have still complained about that price drop as well, don't kid yourself.

P3D Free Supercharging SNAFU Good News

I got the chargebacks from my CC company this morning; the account info online still doesn't reflect it. However, I noticed that charger at the superchargers the past few days didn't show me the nagging "no credit card on file" prompt while charger. So it definitely looks like things are...

ICE: Would you ever go back?

Depends... I use my Jeep in ways that an EV simply cannot do now. Off-road + has can simply can’t be beat. For a commuter car; no, I probably won’t buy another ICE.

    Scary AP Moment v9

Sudden swerve to the left going into the left shoulder. I was on the freeway, there was nothing special about the road. It was a slight bend to the left, up-hill. It was foggy out and early in the morning. I believe this was the spot: Google Maps

    Scary AP Moment v9

@Knightshade I had this happen to me on the freeway this morning. Freaked me out. Also, phantom breaking a lot with overpasses casting shadows onto the highway.

Why is the 12V port not in front with the USBs?

Because Tesla doesn't actually want you to use regularly? Now... not really sure why, and it's annoying, but it's in a big "warning" block in the manual. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Serious security issue with phone as a key

There are different types of FOBs, mainly between keyless ignition vehicles and not. For vehicles that have keyless ignitions, you typically just walk up to the car and pull the door handle, just like the M3 with your phone key. Other cars that don't have keyless ignition may not have the other...

Did you get PPF and Ceramic for your Model 3? [POLL]

I'm installing PPF, but probably not ceramic as I'm going with a stealth PPF and I don't know if I want the gloss finish.

    Rotating tires on Model3

Rotating your tires prolongs the life of your tires to help distribute the wear evenly. It's not necessary, but it's good to do it and will help you get to the actual rated range of your tires.

What's your reasoning behind your color choice.

White - people where I live and work in CA can't seem to notice dark cars as well with their brief glances up from their phone.

POLL for those with Tinted Windows in their Model 3

I haven’t noticed any... but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. :) 35% everywhere, 80% UV on front.

What’s the average Wh/mi you are getting

312 Wh/mi over the past 1700 miles. I have the P3D+, TACC set to +10/+15. 90% on the highway, so speeds are typically 75-85. I’m thinking about getting some Aeros... It was 46F when I left this morning and it’ll be about 80F when I leave work. 190 mile drive, one-way. I typically have the...

    Insight With Deciding

Well, I have a 190 mile commute, one way, that I make 2-4 times a week. I used to do it on a motorcycle, but that was just getting too annoying to deal with. Gearing for 40 degree temperature swings and stopping for gas 4 times per trip gets old quick. I created a worksheet of different...

Biggest Positive and Negative Surprises About Model 3 AWD Performance Version

Biggest negative: I'm getting no where near the rated range for the day (I have a long commute). Average speed is, let's say, 70+... Stupid accounting error on my part as well as my price was missing an adjustment that I missed due to excitement of delivery (I picked up a demo model due to...
