The Unofficial Aftermarket Air Suspension Thread

I'd go 20s over 21s, the 20s already leave a short sidewall as is. 21s would be like rubber bands for tires. 20>19>21

I do sort of miss having a frunk to use when I go grocery shopping and only have a couple bags. If you don't plan on showing off your frunk setup, then having it in the sub-trunk is def the way to go. But definitely recommend setting up your system for easy removal of the frunk liner if you...

I haven't heard any bad things about airdemand personally, but can confirm that UAS is superior to Airtekk. I would avoid Airtekk at all costs. You want either 3H/3P since those systems will keep your car at about the same exact ride height when ever your air up. This will save your tires in...

Probably not. The tanks measure 29.5 inches wide, and need about 3/4"-1" on each end, so 31.5 would be a safe measurement to get everything in. From what I found online the new frunk measures 29 inches with the new squared off area. If you have a tape measure you can do your own measurements...

If wired properly, the management will turn off after a bit. There should be a wire from the management that goes to a "switched" 12v location somewhere inside the cabin. The management uses that signal to turn on/off.

They're using three 2 gallon tanks? That seems wasteful. Why not use one 5 gallon or two 3 gallon? Even a 3 gallon tank with a proper compressor(s) will be enough, unless you plan to air out and air up back to back a lot. Agreed, the compressors are SOOOO loud. After going with Accuair's...

The Unofficial Aftermarket Air Suspension Thread

Agreed, not horrible but I wanted something smoother. Ping tanks won't help because it's not the bag portion that gives the rougher ride, it's the shock they use. Airtekk is the cheapest for a reason. I went with full UAS setup and the ride is much smoother.

I think most people use this one. Another video of the location. For some reason that didn't work for me so I am using this one and it's been working fine for over a year.

Model 3 HW3 retrofit questions, wait time, issues

Has anyone watched the install process? I need to know if they need access to anything under the frunk or if the install is all done inside the cabin? I have my air setup in the frunk so I would need to remove it if they need access.

Sadly no other company is making a tank/compressor combo like the Endo series. Hopefully someone buys the rights/patent to it and keeps it going. Once you hear how quiet the compressor is inside the tank, it's impossible to go back to an external setup.

I don't think anyone has done a comparison of the two systems. Height sensors while ensure your car remains the same height. Which means your alignment stays in spec. This is mostly important if you carry a lot of stuff in your car, or have a lot of passengers. If you drive by yourself with...

The Unofficial Aftermarket Air Suspension Thread

Agreed. CT + an external manifold is a very good setup. You can mount the manifold outside of the frunk area allowing you to easily remove the tank/frunk while still being able to drive around at one height. A CVT setup with Accuair's new management will be cleanest option, but you would need...

I haven't tried it. But in theory it should work if your car is asleep. Both accuair and airlift have options to raise the car when it is "turned on". So if the car is air downed, and "goes to sleep", then the car should air up when it "wakes up" for the smart summon. This is of course if...

The tanks are raised about 2", so I was able to put the controllers in the frunk and have the carpet cover everything evenly.

The Unofficial Aftermarket Air Suspension Thread

A 3 gallon tank is plenty. I used two for aesthetics. You need 4 valves if you want to raise/lower all 4 corners. So you either need one tank with 4 valves in it, or two tanks with two valves in each. The 4 valve tanks have two valves on each end.

Accuair's system doesn't show PSI unfortunately. But I have my struts up pretty high now. I raised them to the point that when aired out all the way the fenders are touching lips perfectly. As for stiffness, I'm three clicks from the stiffest all around. It is a really stiff ride now...

You remove the stock springs. The bag is built into the shock, so it makes install easier. Though it does limit how high you can go in the rear(it goes plenty high anyway). They were pulled about 5mm. I didn't measure. Here's a vid showing the fitment before the pull.
  23. J

The Unofficial Aftermarket Air Suspension Thread

Your choices for the struts/bags are: Air Runner, Airtekk, and Universal Air Suspension. You can only use the Endo CVT with Accuair's management systems. You can use The Endo CT(Compressor & Tank) with any management system though. When installing the system, it will be easiest to run the...

Yup they are painted air tanks with vinyl lettering. I am extremely happy with how close our calculations were. Funny enough, we sort of winged it. Since no one had posted about a fitment like this there was no info to go off of. So we just measured the distance from the spindle to the...

255/30/20, I should have went with a 265, but I wasn't sure if I needed the extra clearance since no one has posted about a fitment like this. Yeah you get a little more clearance the higher you go up the arm. But I have about 1mm of clearance. Not recommended for spirited driving.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Right now the ride is a lot firmer than stock since I drive it at a really low height. But it's still really smooth. 255 isn't that bad of a stretch, though the 30 sidewall made it very difficult to stretch that far. I was contemplating between a 255 or a 265, but went with 255 to be sure I...

That's a nice bracket! I would recommend putting some rubber washers or something between it and the mounting point to reduce noise even more. Also, make sure to change/clean that filter often. I'm pretty sure that's how I messed up two of my pumps on my subaru from dirt getting in them.

For all the people who ordered airtekk's bag system, you will have to remove the pressed in studs for the rear. A ball joint press, or a tie rod/pitman puller will also work. Thanks to @itskv for the info. Your local autozone has it.

I messaged them about the AWD kit, and I don't think they have even started designing it. They asked if I could send in my front struts for them to use as a template. I do like that they made the rear strut and bag one piece instead of two like the factory design.
