I have a set of 4 Wheels (original 19" style from the 2012-2015 Model S and 5 Michelin X-ice ties. The wheels are in good condition. They were used on a 2015 Model S for about 6 months. One Wheel is mounted with an X-Ice tire and was used as a spare. It has zero miles. The other 4 tires...

    My 40,000 Mile Battery Report

My normal 90% Battery is 226-227. My last range charge (38,000 miles approx.) was 253. I have a theory on the battery that I have used since day one. I charge at the lowest possible charge rate to get to 90% before I leave for the day. I always charge to 90% unless I need a range charge. I...

Staying in the car while supercharging

Soon I will be able to supercharge while in Macon on business. I won't need to top off more than a few minutes. Is there any reason I cannot stay in the car and make a few calls while supercharging? Does it cause the fan to run too loud to make calls? Thanks.

Cabin and Battery Warming before a long drive

There have been several discussions on how to best prepare for a long drive. With the decreased range of winter travel, I wanted to ask opinions about what to do just before a long drive. So, if I range charge and want to heat the cabin, would that heat draw power from the plug or the battery...

Michelin Primacy tires have been great

Yesterday I had had the new tires installed. The result has been a much quieter ride and a much smoother ride. These tires are going to be an excellent addition to an already almost perfect car. It's always fun to get an upgrade 20,000 miles into a car.

First Day I have to Drive my old car

Tomorrow, I have 323 miles to drive. I will have no time to charge in the middle (with a supercharger it would be possible). I occasionally drive my old car to keep it in good shape. Tomorrow I have no choice. I would pay for a 500 mile battery. About 8-12 times a year I do drive more than...

    Back to 242

Well my car was service over the weekend. The fine people at the Atlanta Service Center had it plugged into a 110. I could tell on my tesla app. I had been stuck on 236/237 rated range for a month or so. On the 110 it magically charged to 242. When I got it home I plugged it into my 14-50...

    Range Charge Issue

Today I did my second range charge. The drive went great. We drove 237 miles round trip with 11 to spare. We had the A/C on the entire way and averaged 70 MPH. I was very pleased. The only issue is when I woke up and added the range (to an already charged car) it would not go past 261...

    Elon Mentions Battery Upgrade

This is why if they offer a battery program I will only buy it if it allows me to get an updated battery with more range. Otherwise, I will not prepay. Front Page -- Automotive News Tuesday, April 3, Tesla amended the Model S loan period through USBank and Wells Fargo from 66 months to 63...

21" Tire Blow Out (Shout out to Jerry33)

As he predicted I have my first tire blow out today. I have the 21" inch rims. I had to then destroy the RIM to get home and switch cars because I could not miss court for my client. I have ordered the 19" rims today. The 21s are not practical for me. I have to be places that I cannot be late...

    Lesson Learned

Today I drove from Atlanta to the courthouse in Macon. The have had several press releases about their EV charging station at the courthouse. It was about 92 miles each way. I drive aggressively with the idea of adding a couple of hours of charging on the J1772 Level 2 charger. I had court...

    Charge at Nissan Dealership?

Charge (in a pinch) at Nissan Dealer? I did a short practice charge at a Walgreens just to see how the j1772 adaptor worked. Do Nissan Dealers use the same? Are they accommodating to Tesla owners? Thanks.

    Charging Over Night

I was wondering if others have seen the range decrease over night while plugged in? For example yesterday before bed I was at 241. I kept the car plugged in and woke up with 233 miles. Anyone else see this?

    Shake Down Cruise Today

So, I did 212 miles today with 8 to spare. I started with a rated range of 241. My question is the rated range change as well as the projected range throughout the day. In the end (as you would expect) they were almost the same. I would have been able to go 220 miles. My question is why did...

    Tire Life 19 vs 21

We have all been debating the advantages and disadvantages of the tire choices. I just want to know about tire life expectancy of both. If this is my everyday car, I don't want to be getting new tires all the time. It's not about cost but about time. I don't want to trade time getting oil...

    Tire Rotation - Brakes etc

Can I assume we can take the Model S to the tire store for rotation etc? What about an alignment if needed? I guess I am asking about basic maintennce. I have always rotated tires every 5000 miles. That can be every 3-4 months for me.

Leather Option on Base Model S

I have been debating (like many others) the base model S vs. performance. The problem for me is that I want 19" wheels, but I want some of the other appointments of the performance S. One issue is the leather option. The website seems to point out a major difference between the leather...

19" vs 21" Wheels Pros and Cons

Okay, I am interested in mass opinion of the advantages and disadvantages of our wheel choices. There are also 2 different 21 " rims to discuss as well. I appreciate everyone in advance because I am totally clueless on this issue. As for my needs, I am most interested in comfort and safety in...

Looking at the Model X, I am still far more interested in the Model S. I prefer the styling of the Model S. Also, the fact that is near production is a huge factor.

The only reason I doubt the purchase

On Wednesday I will have one of those days I have 15 times a year where I drive close to 300 miles. I start my day in Atlanta and driving close to Macon. I return home for about 2 1/2 hours where I could (once I have the model S) plug in. I will have traveled 130 miles in the morning. Then 2...
