No more kW in energy widget

Did anyone else notice how the energy widget in the instrument cluster no longer show the kW? Here's what it looked like before: Hope they'll bring it back in the future!

    Anyone remember this?

    No more map exit visualizations?

Did this get removed in version 9/10? I noticed that these visualizations don't appear anymore.

MCU1 S Owners: Logic FOR/AGAINST Tesla's $2,500 "Infotainment Upgrade"? (Not required for FSD)

Back in version 8 and below, it wasn't laggy. Starting with version 9 you can see how laggy everything is because of the unneeded animations meant for MCU2. Version 9 and above were made for newer cars; they didn't even bother changing the Driving tab icon!(The icon shows a Model 3). This is...

Let's sum up the good things about V9

Do USB mice still work in V9?

How do most Tesla Owners view the OTA function?

It's not good for AP1 cars; version 8 was the peak of features (besides for games) for AP1. If you have the newer autopilot, then yes, the new software updates are good.

Tesla forced an update of my P85D to 2019.16.2

Exactly. I thought that version 8 was as flat as it could get but it got even worse with version 9.

Blog Tesla Invites Consumers to Experience the Tesla Arcade

Don't seem like they do... I wished they offed upgrades to MCU2 so that I can experience the games.

Holding down the Controls button makes "Thanks for your feedback" on the instrument cluster.

I'm actually using version 9, I just prefer version 8.

Tesla’s Touchscreen UI: A Case Study of Car-Dashboard User Interface

Looking back at version 6, the user interface was beautiful. But does Tesla read these forums? Maybe they're not aware. How do you know Tesla got negative feedback about version 9? Tesla probably don't read these forums so our complaints are not seen.

Tesla’s Touchscreen UI: A Case Study of Car-Dashboard User Interface

Glad to see people talking about the badly designed user interface of Version 9. Hopefully Tesla will make the UI more accessible while driving again. Version 8 and below solves the last 3 bullets. Even the first point of haptic feedback was sort of solved in Version 8 and below, since you...

Even the icon for the Driving tab is a Model 3!

Model S - V9 software downgrade, not what I purchased.

Here's an example of how version 9 has bad readability: In version 8 and below, the selected ride height is in blue so that it contrasts with the background. Now it's just white like the background with a tiny shadow to show it's selected.

Can the "Fusée Gelée" exploit be used to downgrade software?

Can the "Fusée Gelée" exploit be used to downgrade software? This exploit can let you downgrade and upgrade software on a Nintendo Switch, can this be used on a Tesla? I would love to go back to version 8.

    Software Update 2019.12.x

I would even pay to go back to version 8! Version 8 actually had more features for AP1 cars than version 9 (except for some easter eggs). Version 8 is more optimized for portrait displays (Model S and X) whereas version 9 is just the Model 3 UI ported over, thus not taking advantage of the...

Model S - V9 software downgrade, not what I purchased.

It's like they forgot that they're making the UI for a car, not a tablet! The toggles and media control buttons are too small in version 9, and the swiping gestures are not intuitive while driving; version 8 had better ways of navigating the interface, like how you can press the side of the...

Model S - V9 software downgrade, not what I purchased.

The user interface of version 7 and below were the best. Modern UIs like in version 9 look like it was made by lazy designers. The good thing about version 8 is that it uses radar for Autopilot, the interface was not as flat and bad as in version 9 (it still had 3D icons), and it still had the...

Once someone is able to hack in, I hope there'll be a way to downgrade software(so that I can go back to V8).

Unpopular Opinion: I love the bottom-half UI in V9

Tesla should have a service that does software downgrades, even if it charges money. Old Teslas don't have any new features in V9, just less. The UI of Version 9 is just terrible, it's like they forgot they're designing for a car; the buttons are too small.

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

Version 6 is absolutely beautiful. The skeuomorphic design made the software feel premium and easy to use, whereas version 9 makes it feel cheap and non-intuitive. If only I could downgrade to version 6/7, just like how I downgraded one of my iPhones to iOS 6 (the last iOS version to use...

    Tesla is losing me

Recently, Apple started to allow downgrades to iOS 6 on older iOS devices; Tesla should do the same and let users downgrade to version 6/7/8 on older cars that don't take advantage of version 9's features.

Is it possible to ask a service center to downgrade version 9 to version 8?

I dislike flat design, and I'm sure future Tesla updates will still have flat UI. Even though I use modern operating systems on my phone and PC, I still use an iOS 6 theme on my phone and a Windows 7 theme for my computer. I hope a future Tesla updates adds the ablily to theme the user...

Is it possible to ask a service center to downgrade version 9 to version 8?

Is it possible to ask a service center to downgrade v9 to v8? If not, are there people I can hire to hack and downgrade version 9 to version 8? I really do not like the user interface of version 9. Thanks.

No more "Auto" setting for each section of climate control in version 9?

Is there a way to have the "Auto" setting for each section of climate control like in version 8 instead of Auto all?

Model S - V9 software downgrade, not what I purchased.

Version 7 is my favorite also, the last one to have skeuomorphic design.

Is there a way to block software updates?

I feel that the user interface of version 9 is too flat, like how the background of the instrument cluster is flat grey instead of a gradient. There are also many annoyances in version 9, such as how you can't adjust the "auto" setting for each section of the climate control. Overall, the user...

    Tesla mandatory software update

The user interface of Tesla version 7 and below looks so nice, unlike the flatness in version 9. I wish there is a way to downgrade the software, or at least block new updates? On Apple devices, Apple "signs" the software of iOS devices so you can't downgrade. But in terms of Tesla software...
