You misunderstood it. Read the post I replied to or the HLDI reports.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I did some further research on this. I can clearly see trends with specific vehicle types which makes me believe the "car burnt with house" cases are underrepresented. Also HLDI trusts this data for their research. It is very unlikely that the houses of Tesla dual motor owners burn down more...

Model S & X dual motor noncrash fire claims

I have found some noteworthy trends in the comprehensive noncrash fire claims from Highway Loss Data Institute. They request this data from insurance companies every year and send it to NHTSA. They are also evaluating how effective a recall was based on this data. Here is the source of the...

I'm aware of the neural networks. I just disagree with the path Elon chose. I have already quoted this article here: Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago and this is why I disagree with him. Are you ok to take the risk? The difficult part comes now. When the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Good thing there were no human involved accidents reported this weekend. That doesn't mean it is safe. // I saw 4 fender benders. The way I think it can be dangerous specially for kids and bicyclists is that it has a hard time checking objects in the 10 and 2 o'clock directions. It is also...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Nope. I don't want it to fail. I want EVs on the road and it's a great thing Tesla kicked the butt of everyone. But I want them to change couple of things though. Elon should stop behaving like a kid. He should stop claiming unproven or incorrect things about the car. He should stop false...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Let's get real. Does this say anything about the number of errors this 'smart' summon has made? Nope. How many of those 550k tests had hits, near hits, driving towards a pedestrian, driving over curb, holding up people, confusing traffic, incomplete mission? NO BETA VERSIONS ON THE ROAD! OK?

To me the number of failures per cars with V10 is already too high. And I don't have exact statistics for this. You can hide behind this sentence and bury your head in the sand. Reasonable guesses however can be made based on the videos and reports.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

This is why statistics are good. They average out those "car burnt with house" cases. Or do Tesla S and X owners have higher rate of house fires than other owners? Additionally we can look up many of these cases in the news and can check where the fire came from.
  12. A

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

anecdotal = (of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research. there are too many "smart" summon videos out there which show the same behavior. Calling them all fake is your blindness.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

There is some truth to the Tesla fires regarding S and X. Model 3 seems to have no such problem. Look at IIHS's non-crash related fire incident report: by category: - In the SUV category only the Jeep Renegade is worse than X and Tesla S and X are "leading" in the luxury category. by all...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You are complaining about something which is good for Tesla. They don't spend money on marketing, but they managed to be in the news all the time. These news are the reason why the brand name got such a high valuation.

Yes. I quoted a similar article earlier about this meeting. And I also mentioned that they joined a partnership with several companies to get Nickel from Indonesia. Couple of months later Indonesia banned Nickel export. This is a tough business. I'm sure they are looking elsewhere as well. And...

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

Based on my assessment I believe it is the investments in mining industry and relatedly the uncertainty of future chemistry is the one that holds them back. I can't find any other logical reasons. If I knew that NMC and NCA BEV is the future and I'm sitting on a huge nickel reserve, I would...

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

"as manufacturing scales up" this is the key. Not sure if you follow battery manufacturing capacity projections. There is none that is high enough to support all needs within 10 years. Even 20 years is a question without any breakthrough in chemistry.

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

Some updates on battery production. In H1 2019, xEV Battery Deployment Increased 89% To 46.3 GWh There is about 300GWh Li-ion production capacity worldwide and 2x46GWh = ~100GWh is used in PHEV/BEV. So there is 200GWh as of now that goes elsewhere. Renewable, scooters and electronics...

What do you guys think about the post mentioned here in the insideev article? Some people say the description doesn't match the picture. Did the car go forward or backwards. Rivian Vs Tesla

ABRP seems to overestimate the tapering for the battery. That affects the results quite a bit. Wait for the real world data. Additionally non Tesla charging network isn't great in the US. Much better in the EU. Over there you won't find much difference even with this inaccurate tapering curve.

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

In those projects they create H2 first. So producing Methane needs additional steps however it is cheaper to handle CH4 than H2 later on. Drawback is that CH4 still needs to be burned and although it has zero GHG effect, incomplete combustion results in poisonous gasses. But even with that the...

    Rivian Vs Tesla

I have already calculated it. But you are not paying attention. "Now look up in a table (or have a function compute) the rate allowed at that SoC." As I mentioned the Rivian (copying the Model 3's taper) can still accept 180kW charge at 74% SoC. This means if I charge it from 10% to 76.5% on...
