What are your thoughts on friends/family charging at your house? You at theirs?

Common courtesy from your friends would be for them to offer to pay for the use of your electricity. They should be grateful. Then it would be up to you if you wanted to refuse their offer or not. When I have visited extended family in the past where I needed to charge to get to my next...

    Navigation

If a location address is in your phone's contacts, you can select the contact from the phone screen in the car, and it allows you to navigate to the addresses tied to that contact.

Making the 19in to 21in swap. Help please

Be prepared to spend a lot more money on tires. I get about 18,000 to 20,000 miles on them. Since I drive 30,000 miles a year, I go through my 21's every 9 to 10 months.

Passengers held hostage. Alarm sounds when doors unlocked from inside?

OP, if you don't want the car to sound an alarm when the car is locked and a door is opened, you can turn the alarm feature off in the settings section on the center screen.

    Old Dashboard

I like ye ole' dash. Granted, its a personal choice. Some like it, some don't. To me, it's the ONE GOOD THING that the classic cars have that the AP1 and AP2 cars don't have. Oh, and a couple cancelled colors (brown and green). So two good things. Or would that be counted as three?

    Tesla Camping

I've charged at several camping sites with no problems. One of those times we actually camped at the site, so it was very convenient to charge up overnight. Just like at home :). The other times we were just passing through and needed a charge. I had a to pay a small fee to use the camp...

Door handle behavior with key fob out of range

When you attempt to lock the car (pushing the top of the FOB once), and a door is ajar as in the OP's situation, the car will chime 3 times loudly. Of course, if you just use the walk-away lock feature, you may not hear the chimes. But that is one way the car tries to tell you that there is an...

    Kathy Griffin is the victim

Just sick. Really sick how someone would think doing such a horrible thing was okay. Going after a young, innocent child. And now she's the victim. Yep, glad the sponsors dropped her. Hopefully others out there thinking of doing similar gestures (e.g. Colbert) will stop and think before they...

Looking for a Special Charging Adapter

That looks like a NEMA 10-50 connector. According to the NEMA connector guide at NEMA connector - Wikipedia. I have a 10-30 clothes dryer adapter that I no longer use, so Tesla may have manufactured one at some point, but a quick look at their shop site doesn't show such an adapter for the...

    Musty "Locker Room" Odor

I have the pano roof, and just recently had the issue of rain seeping into the right rear portion of the non-moving glass portion. This is the portion right above the rear seats. I would get that smell every time it rained - a mildew odor. A quick airing out of the car would remove the odor. It...

    Is 60k miles a lot?

125,000 on mine. We'll probably take it north of 300,000 I bet.

    Radio cutting out

Tesla's internet uses the AT&T cell service. There are definitely areas in Los Angeles where my signal cuts out too. Every 15-20 minutes sounds about right. About 50% of the time, Tune-in will reconnect, and pick up where it dropped off - it must cache the stream on the internal hard drive. The...

    Newbie!

First of all - Welcome! As you've probably heard before - once you do the test drive, there's no going back :D We've had ours for more than 4 years now. And still, every time we get in the car, we say "We Love This Car!!". So I'm not sure when that sentiment or smile will wear off, but it has...

Has Voice command improved a whole lot recently?

Like others have stated, a couple years ago it was hit and miss. But now, it is pretty much spot on every time. Just the other day I had passengers in the car who were talking loudly, and I used it to navigate. The folks continued talking as I voiced my command, so I thought it wouldn't get...

    Benefits To Owning an S60?

Another S60 owner here. I have been completely fine with the 60 for both commuting and road trips. Range-wise its not an issue. I travel between LA and San Diego 1-2 times a week, and never an issue for me. I charge when I get down to my San Diego location. On the occasions I wasn't able to...

Meet Verity, the bubblegum-pink Model X

    bubbles on touchscreen

My January 2013 MS60 just started this issue about a month ago. Looks like bubbles on the left side. Unfortunately, with over 100k miles, I am out of warranty. I was quoted $5000 to replace today at the SC. I sure hope they find a way to just replace the screen only, rather than the whole...

    Model S 60 on a Road Trip

You will have no range anxiety, and the 60 does absolutely fine with the superchargers. Take it from all of us 60 owners that post every time someone post a question about the 60 - you will not have any issues. The software limited 75-to-60 battery is even better. If you have extra money lying...

Any update on Monroe yet? This is much needed.
  23. Bound466

Choosing between a used MS 60 and MS 85

The 60 can handle the superchargers distance, no problem. I have been on many road trips in my 60 from SoCal to Utah, to Colorado, to Northern Cal, without any issues. So don't think that the 60 can't take you on road trips, because it works just fine.

Is a 60kWh pack large enough?

I have the 60kWh battery, and commute 92 miles round trip everyday, and usually have about 60-70 miles left over when I get home. We also do a lot of road trips (never did road trips before we got the Tesla), and never had a problem getting between the superchargers. I think you will here a...

10 EV chargers installed in Zions National Park (UTAH)

We used the charger at the lodge for free back in March (see photo below) and then used the charger at the visitor center when we returned in May (I thought we paid $10, but I can't remember for sure - $5 makes more sense). But it is great that Zion has this option. Also, there is a supercharger...

Tesla Roadside Service comes through for road trip

Tesla Roadside Service comes through for road trip

Wow, I wasn't aware of that one. I don't think so, but it's had some of the service bulletin fixes when we bring it in for the annual service. I will definitely ask about it when Denver SC calls again. Thanks.

Tesla Roadside Service comes through for road trip

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for our trip. Because we packed so much into our Model S, and because it holds so much (it's huge of course), we got a Yukon to hold everything. We had luggage for almost 3 weeks of travel for four, plus camping equipment too. We also brought a spare 21-inch...

Tesla Roadside Service comes through for road trip

Just wanted to share this success story. We are on a road trip from California to Indiana in our beloved Tess. Just 2 days in we are in Grand Junction CO, and got to our hotel as planned. Loved the trip planner feature in v6.2. As we park, we get the dreaded 12 volt battery error. Car is...

    TuneIn Radio Problems

I was equally frustrated and rebooting too. Then just this morning I discovered that if I clicked the "Listen Now" button above the stale list of shows, it cascades to another level with refreshed shows. Why you have to do that maneuver makes no sense to me, but it refreshed the podcasts. I...

Supercharger - El Centro, CA (8 V2 stalls)

The transformer is now installed. There was power to the cable that enabled the charge port door to open, but otherwise the charger is not active. Looks like the only thing left is for Tesla to come run the final diagnostics and activate the superchargers. Should be active in a couple days...

Thanks liuping and beta1118. That's a great sight to see. Hopefully these will be active before Christmas. Tyl, I was thinking the same thing. I was looking for the transformer pad, and I think that is the most likely location.

    Wanderers video

Thanks for posting Grendal, that video was awesome. I'm going to try and play it on my HDTV bigscreen next. It appears to be modern CGI, but with Carl Sagans narration, that is interesting. I wonder if it is just upgraded visuals with reused narration, or if that was one of Mr. Sagans last...

Supercharger - Rancho Cucamonga, CA (12 V2 stalls)

Dropped by tonight around 7pm for Saturday night "ICE Watch".. Great news!! There were only two MS's charging, and the 10 other spaces were completely empty. The rest of the surrounding parking lot was completely packed, so I was really surprised there was no ICE'ing going on. I hope this is...

Went by the RC SC today. Transformer installed on that nice concrete pad now. Crew was there bringing conduit up through it. They thought it would be on by Thursday or earlier. Tesla then needs to test. Sorry, didn't get pictures as I was in a hurry. Transformer looked nice dark green though...

Just visited the site tonight. I am having trouble uploading pictures from Tapatalk right now, so will get them uploaded soon. The good news: the supercharger cables are now in place. This looks like a supercharger site now. It will be really nice with the landscaping and trees too. The bad...

Where has the Lacewood gone TM?

It is definitely a shame they discontinued the Lacewood. Like others have stated, carbon fiber is great too, and would be my second choice. Hopefully they bring in another interesting wood choice, but I can see that less options means less manufacturing costs too. It's all business in the end.

Supercharger - El Centro, CA (8 V2 stalls)

Supercharger - Rancho Cucamonga, CA (12 V2 stalls)

There is good progress being made on the SC construction. They have most of the stalls installed now. Note that this site will be in an "L" shaped pattern, with six stalls on one leg of the "L" and six on the other. Interesting layout, not sure if any other SC is laid out like that.
