Model S Wireless Phone Charger in Tesla Store

Then I stand corrected ... Both of my center consoles had the (Apple or Andoid) phone connector already installed which is why I did not need #35. Didn't know some came with a blank off plate instead. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Proactively replacing RDU/LDU

I think it's great you have the ambition of selling your old DU. From reading your post, I too have decided to proactively replace the LDU. Dropped the car off this morning. Thankfully they were able to put me in a 3P loaner while I wait. (off topic) I was going to take advantage of the...

2013 Model S Will Charge at Supercharger but not with Wallcharger

I don't recall what my error codes were, but I was unable to charge from any AC source but was able to charge from DC. Replaced both AC fuses (A50P50-4) in the Primary charger (I have the high power option under the rear seats) and it's been prefect ever since ... this was back in 2019 on gen1...

Pre Dec 2014 S Heated Steering Wheel Retrofit

You would have to see if you have the heated wheel fuse installed (model dependent) or take the steering SCCM off the car and check the pins/part number to see if you have the right one. Good luck in your quest.

    Retrofit newer sun visors

I am basing my data off the 2021+ Model S parts catalog only. I have not seen the visor or it's connections. But based on the pics, it does look like the connector you posted should mate up to the visor pigtail posted above.

    Retrofit newer sun visors

You need to make an adapter from the headliner's 2-pin Molex micro-fit to the sunvisors connector (which varies depending on which sunvisor you have). For 2020- MS lighted visors, the connector you need is JST PNIRP-02V-S, which fits these visor connections: For 2021+ MS lighted visors...

    Model Y Trailer Plug Questions

For what it’s worth with my 08/23 Fremont Y, I tried the OPT7 [Amazon.com] and one of the turn signals acted as if a bulb was out. Ordered the CURT 57245 [Amazon.com] and it worked perfectly.

#35 is not used with the wireless charging pad (#41) so don’t bother trying to order it. The charging pad worked great and just fit the iPhone 13 with a Casemate case.

    Liftmaster and Homelink

If you don't get a mobile service appointment, there isn't much Tesla can do from the shop. I hate to say this, but at Tesla's hourly service rates, it might be cheaper to just install a new garage door opener instead of letting them diagnose it. I have a '12 S and a '17 S with two homelink...

Center display unavailable message, but everything works fine

One method to try to fix the "Center Display Unavailable" is by disconnecting the fireman loop and the 12v battery. Wait about 20 seconds (maybe a bit longer, can't hurt) and reconnect in the reverse order. This forces the MCU (and all subsystems/processes) to completely power cycle which has...

Pre Dec 2014 S Heated Steering Wheel Retrofit

There may not be a large enough +12vdc/Gnd wire pair from the fuse box to the car-side SCCM for the heated wheel element. You may also need the thumb wheel/rockers if yours is of the older LIN style vs newer CAN style required for the heated SCCM. That’s just off the top of my head. Be sure to...

Access to the gateway config setting to enable the software to control the heated wheel as well as +12V from somewhere in the car to heat the wheel. You will want to study the wiring schematics (available for free after registering at service.tesla.com) to ensure you wire up the sccm correctly.

    2012-2020 | Model S/X Wireless Phone Charger

That’s a great price for a used one. Found one listed on eBay for well over $500. However, price aside, either one will suit your wireless charging needs. So if you cannot get your hands on OEM, A/M works great too. And shipping is from TX, so delivery to Cont. US is fairly quick. Oh, I’m even...

    2012-2020 | Model S/X Wireless Phone Charger

I like both wireless chargers. The OEM one can be a tight fit for larger phones (which I do not have) but, as usual with Tesla gear, this fit and finish perfectly integrates with the existing console lid. It would appear as though the aftermarket one more easily accepts larger phones. Since...

Good idea to proactively replace RDU

I was loaned a P100D from Tesla while my other car was in the shop. It's my understanding, they both have the same LDU for the rear motor. The P100D did not have the spaceship/milling noise like my P85. The motors aren't different except maybe mine is a reman (1025598-00-H: replaced in 2016...

    2012-2020 | Model S/X Wireless Phone Charger

    2012-2020 | Model S/X Wireless Phone Charger

Just received my Wireless charger adapter from Tesla parts. It was a Rev B item, not a Rev C. Apparently Rev C parts are extremely hard to come by (only a couple units in the California-USA area). The Rev B unit I recieved cost $125 (+tax) and was a perfect fit into the 2017 center console. I...

1060585-00-B is the plastic trim used with the charging pad (#35) while 1546873-00-C is the actual charing pad (#41) I suspect 1546873-00-B is an older rev of the charging pad and is no longer available. Fingers crossed Service/Parts can still order the two items above.

I sent back the Tesla retrofit center console (w/o rear facing usb ports) and found one from a 2020 beige MS on Ebay.
