Cargo cover not as good as expected

The factory shelf is held down by magnets that are integrated into the shelf and the side rails. If you don't have the side rails because your model didn't come with them and/or the shelf then you might not be able to use a factory shelf at all.

Cargo cover not as good as expected

Hi, I sent them the message through the service section of the app and they ordered it for me that way. I said I wanted the updated shelf with the extra fold and also stated what I thought was the new part number. Good luck!

    2018 LR RWD glovebox LED/light

Ok, turns out I was correct and the harness to the glovebox closed sensor was not plugged in. Took 10 min tops. Thanks for your input

    2018 LR RWD glovebox LED/light

I actually watched the tech make sure the glovebox light was plugged in. I also noticed a sensor plug near the slow opening mechanism didn’t have a wire to it. There didn’t seem to be a wire to connect to it if there was one. Is it possible the light isn’t turning on because this sensor is not...

    2018 LR RWD glovebox LED/light

Weird thing that we never noticed. The light in the glove box doesn't actually turn on. How did we discover this? We had the glovebox replaced because the right side latch stopped working and the glove box would sag and could be forced open. When they replaced it (not cheap, ~$400 including...

Rally Armor mud flaps - clips are falling out

Awesome thanks. Any pics that show the mounting in the well? Did all go together like in their video? They seem to stick out less far than the Rally Armor. Either that or the top angle is less squared off. Any close ups of the material? Is it textured? Flexible like urethane or something in...

Rally Armor mud flaps - clips are falling out

I just got these for a 2023 MYLR and the measurements provided are not correct. The rears and fronts both required the top clip to be higher (possibly the bottom edge of the clip at the measurement unlike in the pictures where they have the center of the clip at the required measurement). The...

Cargo cover not as good as expected

I can also use the updated “trifold” version one handed. It took me a while to figure out where to apply the pressure when lifting but I can get it to fold up with just one hand now.

Cargo cover not as good as expected

Works nicely and folds up like we’ve seen in other images. Can slide behind the 2nd row seat backs and also fold up nicely to give access to most of the cargo area. Old on the left and new on the right.

Rally Armor mud flaps - clips are falling out

Hi, I notice they are wider than the side of the car and makes sense they are more protective to the doors. However, does this decrease the range at all?

    MyQ quirk

Seems since the latest couple updates, myQ cannot immediately close the door. I frequently see “error” when getting in the car now too. It either cannot close at all due to the error or it flashes with a delay. What a joke integration. Especially those that have paid for this “premium” feature.

    New, updated factory cargo cover

Received a 3-section cargo cover with a 12/2022 Fremont LR. It’s not too easy to fold and retract due to the limited number of folds. I think I saw somewhere there is now a 4-section cover that is being delivered with more recent deliveries. Does anyone know the part numbers for each and if...

Cargo cover not as good as expected

JCLJ’s is the one we got with the 12/2022 MYLR from Fremont. Would love the one from TrinB’s video that has one more fold at the front.

Model Y LRAWD front differential disconnects?

Got it! The 3 shafts. Duh. One shaft is to the motor itself and the induction motor is freely spinning instead of the opposite wheel.

Model Y LRAWD front differential disconnects?

Hi, I had the car off the ground to paint the calipers and noticed that the front differential doesn’t seem to be connected. Meaning when I rotate the left front wheel, the right front wheel doesn’t rotate in the opposite direction. The opposite wheel didn’t rotate at all. There didn’t seem to...

    MyQ quirk

Tried redoing the garage location setting and it’s still hit or miss if it beeps as if we weren’t at home when it closes. Sort of a joke the integration is so inconsistent with being able to determine where the vehicle is and that I literally just backed out of the garage AND it knew I just did...

    MyQ quirk

I was planning to reset it but this morning I waited in the garage till I saw the wifi reconnect (the car sleeps after the morning charge). Then, when I backed out, it automatically closed without beeping. Maybe if it’s not on wifi, it will go by GPS location and LTE, so I still need to reset it...

    MyQ quirk

I noticed that after turning off sentry mode while at home, the MyQ has issues autoclosing the door or if it does, it does the beeping thing. I’m guessing the car is now sleeping at night and either doesn’t reconnect fast enough before we leave, or letting the car sleep at all resets the MyQ so...

Phantom drain after charging. 5% in 90 minutes of sleep right after charging

    Wire size for wall charger

The gen2 is on a 100A circuit from the main outside panel which goes inside the garage to a 100A disconnect. Then the run goes up and over to the opposite side of the garage to the gen2, all with 2AWG. I don't want to add a subpanel there and also wouldn't even have room there on the side of the...

Phantom drain after charging. 5% in 90 minutes of sleep right after charging

Hi, Model 3 LR RWD from 2018. 45,000 miles. Just signed up for Teslafi so looking at some of the cool graphs. We have the charging to complete by 08:00am to 70%. So it charges in the morning just before 8. Then goes to sleep. I noticed in the 90 minutes before actually driving the car, it goes...

    Wire size for wall charger

We have 2AWG for a 75ft run that goes to a Gen2 on a 100A circuit. Also have a new gen3 on a 60A and 6AWG. If we ever want to swap the gen2 out to a gen3 for load sharing, would a couple Polaris connectors work to downsize the 2AWG to 4AWG or 6AWG fit in the rear mounting plate of the gen3?

Konig K55 chains on Model Y with 255/40R20

Looking at these Konig K series chains, I think the Spikes Spider ones have a better and more durable design with their Easy series options. Those ones mount to 2 lugs and use more metal on the hub attachment and leverage points from what I can gather. $650 though.

Driver profile syncing loses settings/preferences when switching vehicles

Hi, I made another topic about this but I think the title wasn’t as clear. We have a Model 3 HW2.5 and Model Y HW3.0. The HW3.0 has FSD visualization preview and green light notification. HW2.5 does not. When driving the Model 3 and then back to the Model Y, the Model Y will lose the...

    Tesla and MyQ

Would like to see other smart features linked to the myQ opened/closed state: 1) if the garage is closed and you try to open the lift gate from the app or the screen, you are asked to confirm. This is because many garages don’t have room for the gate to swing open if parked in nose first. 2)...

Powerwall/Solar Edge behavior in power outage

Thanks guys! Today I tried it again and because it’s the weekend the powerwall was at the reserve of 25%. This time when I shut off the main breaker, the inverter shut down but remained powered. After a countdown, it restarted and is now charging up the powerwall again. So it’s working great...

Powerwall/Solar Edge behavior in power outage

Thanks. When I looked at the inverter, it behaved like it was turned off with no lights. It’s a solar edge HD 7600 inverter. I was able to check the Tesla app backup history and it reported a 7 minute outage today. I’ll check again tomorrow if I can for longer.

Powerwall/Solar Edge behavior in power outage

It would’ve been close to 5 minutes. Pretty sure it was longer but can’t remember for sure. I will have to run a longer test next time. I do know that it was after 2 pm which is when the powerwall starts discharging based on my rate plan and letting all the solar back to the grid. So would a...

Powerwall/Solar Edge behavior in power outage

Hi, I simulated a power outage today by shutting the main breaker. My powerwall is set up in a partial backup setup with a subpanel that is backfed by both the powerwall and solaredge inverter. The powerwall was about 90% charged at the time per the app. Everything in the subpanel stayed on...

    Solar Comps in Los Angeles

Yes. We had a partial home back up installation. There went from the main panel to gateway using aluminum suitable for 100A (but put on an 70A breaker). Then from the gateway to a sub panel using aluminum suitable for 100A. The solar and Powerwall both backfeed into the sub panel. Additionally...

    Solar Comps in Los Angeles

We dealt with some of this too. Basically nothing matched the plans. Especially the attachments and methods. Prior to inspection, we finally agreed to add more flashing. But the attachments were already in place and removing would do more damage. There were MANY holes made on the roof whilst...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

The battery only really helps in a backup situation or if you don’t have more room for panels. Ideally we would be selling the off peak back at peak rates but we can’t so instead we are selling partial peak back for a lower differential. And you are only selling it back at the rate you consume...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

I’m pretty sure it’s not SGIP that prevents you from sipping off the grid at night, but the federal ITC which requires it to be charged from solar to be considered a solar upgrade. Then you have to proportionally decrease your credit if you aren’t 100% solar and if you get below 75%, you lose...
