How Long Will Elon Be CEO? (SpaceX and Tesla)

While he may need/want a bit more of a life, many people describe him as one of the hardest working people in Silicone Valley. There seems to be no level to his ambition. So I only assume as his profile gets bigger, he will want to continue to stay on until Tesla is a recognized success. He...

How Long Will Elon Be CEO? (SpaceX and Tesla)

Hello, I am curious what you all think about this topic. As we all know both SpaceX and Tesla are primarily driven by Elon and his desire to change the world. He has stated numerous times that he didn't want to take on the role of CEO. So that question is, how long do you think he will remain...

    tesla blue star

As with the original thread that bought this up, I should caution that the percentages (25% per year) he mentions actually look like a typo or poor choice of language. The important point is the price per kWh target which people believed to be plausible/accurate.

Phil LeBeau's Behind The Wheel - CNBC Given the increased volume, etc and Tesla's focus on driving down the cost of their battery packs, I would think that by the time of production they will reach this target. So at $225/kWh that is $13500. At $37500 before the tax credit, that leaves Tesla...

Interesting thanks. I think that Tesla Motors Company Overview is actually the one thing that was kind of sticking in my head. I read that, and I noted it. Interesting though that it wasn't accurate with the X. That said though, I still stand by what I said. The whole wiki actually has $30k...

    tesla blue star

Just to quickly add. As with the Model X (and given the situation with the SuperCharger) I expect no 40kWh model. I think that a 60kWh model will be available at the $30k price (after the tax credit), with a range of 240-250 miles (given the smaller size). Seems like a lot to deliver, but I...

I am predicting a $30k car. Apart from seeing many reports/interviews where the $30k number was focused on (though I don't have it in me to dig them up now), I think that if they want to reach the 200,000 unit target they are going to have to do better then $10k less than the base Model S. I am...

    Model X Side Mirrors

I am not sure if the idea has been previously discussed, but wouldn't having rear facing camera's potentially open up all sorts of interesting capabilities as far as warning solutions? I.E. when merging, etc. Furthermore I would imagine they could do things like highlight cars on the screen, etc...

Pictures & Video from the Model X Unveiling (02/09/2012)

Wasn't too fussed at the first picture. After watching the video I am a fair bit more impressed. The Model S is still more my taste, but the Model X is pretty damn cool. Still ridiculously disappointed about the livestream. Took time out of my day to watch it. They should of had myfreecams...

Pictures & Video from the Model X Unveiling (02/09/2012)

With all the engineers and programmers working for Tesla, not to mention Elon's internet credentials you'd think they'd be able to get a livestream working. Pretty disappointing effort really :(
