You could buy the kit and just install the softclose motor. The hood actuator is optional if you don't want it - they are independent. The soft close motor seems to be universal in a sense that you replace the spring and add on the latch mechanism. Hope this helps.

@appleguru would this be another area where we can tap into the OBD port? Bearbu's kit is currently using up the OBD connector on the driver's side, I'd rather not add on another OBD adapter if there is another available port.

you only have 2 options either find the trigger signal from the trunk and run a wire from the back all the way to the front or purchase appleguru's kit which makes the installation way easier by not having to run that line and splicing into the original harness.
