Has anyone gone from a 911 to a Plaid?

Went from GT3 and a C4S to my P100D (not plaid). I think it depends what you are looking for in the change. I was tired of driving cars that were terribly inefficient and a bad environmental choice. The Porsches were very emotional cars for me personally, and strangers would comment on them...

Purchasing Plaid MS soon, do I need aftermarket camber arms etc.?

If you are financing and cannot afford outright suggest not paying interest on a depreciating asset. In other words, and no offense, you probably can't afford it and should be focusing on building up your financial position. Cars are almost always a bad use of money

Buying a Plaid upgrading from a P100D Thoughts?

Same on the charging. Both my P100D and my wife's MX extra long range have free unlimited supercharging. I estimate we are saving $5k/year easily on charging (Tesla app validates this), and as a bonus we are not being typical consumers. But hey I also rock an iPhone 11 Pro and try not to buy new...

Ok, maybe not Road Course in a Legacy S.....what about AutoX?

As you go the BMW route... been there and it's not ideal either IME the only company that still makes cars that are track or AX ready is Porsche. You can't beat a metzger engined Pcar for the track. I interacted for over a decade in a GT3, they're built for it. BMW you will cook brakes, break...

Drive Unit Repair SCAL Independent Shop

Have you seen that in writing, other than the warranty FAQ page on Tesla site? Have heard of Tesla alternatively saying it is not to extend past initial 8 year/unlimited warranty, and have also heard of one year/12k miles coverage on replaced LDU

When Do I Give up on my 90,000km 2013 Model S?

Tesla model S with rear large drive unit (LDU) is a tough long term car. There are many articles and posts on people looking to (reliably) keep these drive units running. They all fail due to a leak around the seal between the different components of the unit. I believe this is why even a car in...

Ok, maybe not Road Course in a Legacy S.....what about AutoX?

Mushy and soft suspension with rubber bushings. Very heavy car. Range optimized tires with low grip to reduce drag By all means try but if you have experience driving AX or track it will be a disappointment

Power train requires maintenance avoid hard acceleration

I had this error and also replaced the rear drive unit in my P100D under warranty. Car was at 39k miles, but I launch hard and floor it often and almost always drive in ludicrous mode. SC did not align the car which I did not appreciate, and parts took 5 weeks to arrive

Model S Aftermarket Wheel Fitment/Offset Discussion

Maybe just me but after looking at a bunch of options could not beat the price, fit and specs (weight!) of factory forged arachnids. I have owned BBS and HRE forged wheels on previous cars and don't think it's worth it

    285/35/20 F, 335/30/20 R on Plaid, Does it work?

I suspect range will plummet with sticky tires this big. As it is going from 19s to arachnids takes my range down by more than 10%

Yes they are in stock, thankfully we won’t have to suffer through speculators trying to make money by reserving a car they never intended to buy there is an a$$hat in the Bay Area trying to sell a red plaid for $30k over msrp. Meanwhile 2 are in stock now from Tesla the Porsche community has...

Hi- I’m interested in your wheels. Looks like you had them on a p100d. Did they need spacers or fender rolling to fit?

    Carbon Ceramic Brakes

Resurrecting an old thread. There is so much misinformation from people who clearly have never had ceramic brakes on a car that I had to comment so that someone searching who finds this thread is not misled by some high school kid posting cat pics pretending to be an expert I’ve had them on two...

    Carbon Ceramic brakes

Saw that EBC was claiming a significant range increase (15 miles!) for their floating rotors that saved much less unsparing weight curious if the ceramics had any impact on range or the Wh/mile average?

    Carbon Ceramic brakes

Thanks for clarifying. Think I will wait for upcoming 3 motor raven car to see if Tesla will offer ceramics. Had them on 2 Porsches and love the lightness and bite
