    Canada - FSD rollout

I get it, you guys have some fun beta testing FSD. However, it sounds to me like a job and there are some pre requisite to do it. So it would be fair that all beta testers got a discount on FSD wouldn't ?

I never paid to use gmail though ! I never needed to make sure I didn't type too fast to use it either ;)

2021 M3 LR Rocker Panel Paint Peeling

That sucks, it's important to ppf the rockers. I know, we shouldn't have to do it.

Would the battery be a problem with buying an ultra low mileage used 2018 model S

If the current owner can give you the mileage versus percentage of the car, you can figure out how much degradation the car already has.

Can’t PPF the whole car, what is the bare minimum to get done?

I don't know about the vinyl, but I would say yes for the Summer.
  11. D

Can’t PPF the whole car, what is the bare minimum to get done?

That's what I did. I also put the mud flaps. So far no issues at all and my Winters are very "salty".

    Supercharging in Canada Too Expensive?

I hope you're right for the battery. But no M3 have gone beyond 8 years yet, so nobody knows. As for an equivalent sedan in term of size, not talking about the fun of driving etc...I don't know why a Corolla is nor equivalent.
  13. D

    Canada - FSD rollout

as long as the entire world road system is rebuilt to the fsd standard... :)

    Canada - FSD rollout

Wow ! Tesla would have to pay me to use such a feature. :(
  15. D

    Supercharging in Canada Too Expensive?

⁶ Well, you happen to drive a lot more than the average. An average driver would put 20k in a year right? So if you consider the price of a M3 compare to a sedan, let's say a corolla which will be around 25k...it will take around 9 years to compensate for the price of the M3. Of course the M3...

    Supercharging in Canada Too Expensive?

also a bit beside the point but even if you had free charging and supercharging, chances are a Tesla will cost you more than a gas car. Anyhow, nobody bought a Tesla to save money.
  17. D

    Supercharging in Canada Too Expensive?

you have a point, maintenance is cheaper. As for charging at home, I do that too and I also charge at work for free. I am thinking of people road tripping a lot.
  18. D

    Supercharging in Canada Too Expensive?

The more you drive an ev, the more you save compare to a gas car. Not anymore with expensive Superchargers unless you have a long commute.
  19. D

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

No idea, the guy installed them for me. I got them installed when I got the car rust proofed. Expensive too but well worth it if you want to keep the car long term.
  20. D

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

    Expensive but reliable.

    Canada - FSD rollout

Well, it is about 10% increase on your purchase. Is it worth it for a level 2 system?

    Canada - FSD rollout

To enhance a more competitive environment for testers, I am planning to pass every Tesla I see on the road and hit the break to make the driver lose points. I drive a grey M3 in Montréal ! :)
  25. D

    Canada - FSD rollout

Also, one can say I am not looking at the big picture, but I think Musk is putting together a drivers monitoring system that he would be happy to sell to insurance company.
  26. D

    Canada - FSD rollout

I don't have AP let alone FSD so I won't comment on how useful, good bad is this system. But I can tell you guys are wasting a lot of hours/ stressing out on something you have little control on. Is it worth it ? I'd rather play the back seat driver and wait till it goes to higher level of...

Why isn't everyone as upset about the Supercharger increase as I am?

I am not upset cause the last thing I need is to get upset at more things in my life !

    Having second thoughts

Buying a Tesla is worth it for a ton of reasons but saving money is not one of them.

Why does the UI miss so many oncoming vehicles?

Yes, you can turn your signal before the lane is free cause sometimes, another driver will have the courtesy to let you enter the lane.

Destination charger at Mont St Anne?

I've been to Mont Saint Anne in 2019 and beside the hotel, nothing around. I even asked the hotel if I could charge while having lunch in their restaurant, and the answer was no. So as mentioned above, you may want to use Quebec SC on your way up.

Car Did Nothing [to avoid potential collision while driving in manual mode]

Well, the system is not 100% reliable. Sometimes the car will warn you, sometimes it will warn you after the danger and sometimes it won't do a thing. That's my experience anyway. The bottom line : don't trust the car regarding those safety systems.
  32. D

    Canada - FSD rollout

I don't understand. I don't have fsd and ap You guys paid for fsd but you can't use it unless you have a good grade ?
  33. D

Have you seen the price of petrol lately?

Don't forget that your grocery stores get truck delivered...:(
  34. D

Why does the UI miss so many oncoming vehicles?

The detection of other cars or obstacles is not reliable. I can't count the number of times the car warned me after the obstacle was behind me. However it will scream at me if there is a 1 cm mount of snow on the street :) The only good thing for safety Tesla added lately is the option of...

What type of range are you seeing on this snowy day? (From Montreal to .....)

I am far from being an expert but driving short distances in cold weather on snowy roads with a cold battery will do it. My commute in Summer takes 5% of my battery and goes up to 10% in really adverse conditions in Montréal Winter.
  36. D

Is it worth getting FSD in Canada?

Not worth until I can remove my hands of the wheel and my eyes from the road.
  37. D

What type of range are you seeing on this snowy day? (From Montreal to .....)

Were you on a short drive? Because to be honest I found your consumption extreme. My experience is after warming up the car for a while, I can see those figures for a while but it doesn't last. I live in Montreal, it was indeed a big one ! :)
  38. D

-25, M3 not charging at all on my 110?

Same, at -25 it is too cold for 110v. With the temp going up during the day, you might add a few percents. But it will help to find some level 2. However, if you leave it plugged in, I don't think you will lose any energy.

There is one thing internet is good for, is make you realize you're not alone ! :)

    Did prices increase again?

It did increase also for the model 3 and the standard at 151 km is gone, hence the federal rebate is gone as well.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

When you charge your car km or miles are going up faster than percentage. So for the same percentage value you'll have different miles or km values. So when you extrapolate by dividing miles by percentages, you'll have a few miles variation. That said I think those batteries are degrading faster...

Charging tesla in calgary (no garage)

When at work, I charge my car in all kind of weather on level 1. No issue beside the charging will slow down when it is cold. But it isn't cold in Calgary is it ? ;)

Why is Model 3 SR+ so popular?

I would but when I bought my M3 the Federal rebate wasn't available yet, I'd be a bit tight ! :)
