    Tesla for 80 year old?

I find it more likely that the OP is simply not a forum person, and got what they needed, than an actual troll. If they have a sister who is 80, likely they are in the same age bracket....and pretty likely they aren't going to be hanging out on forums on which they don't own a car. They did...

    I Ordered a Taycan

The handling of a 911 Turbo S to a Taycan? You can't compare at all. The Taycan is very sure footed and very planted and that's about the only thing it shares with a 911 Turbo since it's well over 1,000 lbs heavier and also has air suspension. Even crazy german engineering can't make up for...

    I Ordered a Taycan

So buy a nicely equipped 4S for about the same price as a Plaid. For that you get the following: a real steering wheel, better gauge cluster, HUD, much nicer interior, better handling and brakes, faster charging and almost ultimate customization. Real world range? I bet it's pretty close...

I wonder how many of the people unhappy about V11 are really trolls

Not a troll. Owned Model 3 since late 2018. Driven 70k miles plus. V10 made things harder to use, V11 makes things even harder. When you're actually driving the vehicle, even on TACC/AS, there are a bunch of functions which take too much time off the screen. Fonts even smaller. Scroll bar...

    Rough Ride with Winter Tires?

Uh, those are FACTORY recommendations that are printed in the FACTORY manual regarding air pressure vs. load. Is that few enough words? I never, ever, said anything about selecting a tire which didn't meet load requirements. In that, you are completely correct. If a car requires a...

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

Agree with you on towing. This has been borne out by Model X owners. Range really drops. 80% of drivers don't tow...in your area maybe. Come to the South. I grew up in North East. You need to live in an area like mine to believe the way people use (abuse) trucks. But honestly, if...

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

Why no way? Supposedly the Ford ratings factor in a 1,000 lb payload. Plus, many other EV's meet or beat their EPA range, because they don't use the full testing method that Tesla does and de-rate voluntarily. It's not uncommon for a 220 mile Taycan to easily go 265 miles. Whereas in my...

POLL: After v11, Will You Download a New Update Again Without Reading Reviews First?

Learned my lesson after last year’s “double fire” (guess Elon meant dumpster) update. IMO, that update was much more of a step back than this one. So after waiting 2-3 days, I downloaded this one.

Thought of some more: 15. Not showing the charge at arrival in the navigation small box? Having to scroll down to the bottom of the turn list? Dumb. Like, why did you remove this? 16. Following up on that....did the navigation box get bigger, covering more map, yet shows less information...

Have driven on it some more. This update shows some promise, but many things remain stupid. 1. Separation of speed limit / speedometer at top of screen; good. Larger (?) speedo; good. 2. Thinner fonts overall? Bad 3. Card for trips and wipers gone; dumb. Why? You literally get nothing...

Yup. This is exactly it for me. The 2020 holiday release and subsequent lack of updates after that clearly pointed the way that Tesla was focused on FSD uber alles, and the UI clearly reflects that. There should be divergent paths at this point. A UI specifically for FSD and one without...

Never said it was super simple or easy, or that I could do it. Could you do my job? Highly doubt it. But as for a link to one that works better? try sitting in a modern Audi or a Mercedes with MBUX. You will see that there are plenty of UI’s that utilize touch screens that are far superior...

They could easily win. If they stopped optimizing the UI for FSD, which not everyone wants. LOL, it’s pretty easy to see what is messed up. They are optimizing the UI for FSD. Not everyone wants this. The feedback last year was VERY clear. Sure, there were some out of the box complaints...

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

I've worked in commercial, residential, and site construction for 20 plus years in multiple markets. I think a bigger issue is that a lot of people who use work trucks for actual work don't live in places where they can be recharged overnight. If, however, you maintain a fleet of, say...

    polestar? serious competition?

It's built under the umbrella of Geely, a manufacturer in their own right, by a bunch of Volvo guys using many Volvo parts. Volvo has exploded in both product quality, selection and sales since being acquired by Geely. I'd worry way more about after-warranty service from Tesla than a Polestar.

    Autopilot steering wheel grip

Right. It's not a capacitve "grip" sensor. It's a torque sensor. Just need to be tugging on the wheel. Alternatively, you can flick the speed increase or volume increase jog wheels up and down one click quickly and that will register your presence to keep the nanny at bay.

    Rough Ride with Winter Tires?

Sorry, but you are misinformed on this one. Tire loading is a function of both weight and speed. Based on your driving conditions, and your vehicle load, it is 100% permissible to alter your tire pressure to suit your use case. The sticker on the door is for MAX loading conditions (i.e. at...

M3P to Plaid - some thoughts

Best thing Tesla could do to the M3P isn't give it more power, it's give it a better suspension. Not air ride. But a proper set of either adaptive shocks or magnetic shocks. That, and some decent non-boat-anchor wheels. Oh, and some seats you didn't slide out of turning into your driveway...

Taycan Cross Turismo vs Y boost

The Taycan and Y should not be compared. If anything the Taycan Cross Tourismo is very similar to an S. But much, much lower than a Y. And much tighter inside (based on Taycan sedan, which is identical save for the trunk ILO hatch). But otherwise, not a good comparison.
