    Road assistance, not honored

He/she says right in the post it's 5 months old with 13,000 miles. It's still under the factory warranty.

Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair

I just went and looked in the frunk of our 2023 MXLR and the button is there, slightly recessed. I didn't realize it could pop the hood even while driving, I had that frunk packed pretty tightly for a recent road trip. Glad nothing pushed that button!

Captain seat won't latch. 4.3k to replace seat.

Haven't seen that as an issue specifically but start checking around with salvage yards to see what you can find.

    2023 HW4 Model X Front Door Issues

Well I'm here to tell you that isn't the case, just to confirm what you've heard from others. I have our phones (wife and mine) set as phone keys and I've been carrying a fully linked up keyfob for the past couple of weeks as well.

    2023 HW4 Model X Front Door Issues

Yeah, not gonna lie, when we got our Model X about 6 months ago the doors got a "meh, whatever, should be a fix coming in via software updates soon, we'll deal with it for now" type of response from me. Now it's become truly annoying. We're in a region that gets really cold winters, when I run...

Model X front doors need to open fully

Sorry, for now you're stuck with it working as it is. We've all got the same thing going on. I believe they're going to fix this in a future update but who knows how long that'll be.

I think I know why sc are so bad

So if they get paid more, they will care more? FWIW, I've spent plenty of money at traditional stealerships to have them take wild guesses at issues as well.

    Paint repair kit ultra red

Anything new on this? Caught a rock or something that managed to make it through the PPF and put a good sized chip in the front edge of the hood on our X. 😒

    Cloud syncing multiple driver profiles

Kicking this back up real quick with a different type of question but kind of related - When you have multiple Tesla accounts/driver profiles linked in a single vehicle, is there a way to select which account gets charged when you hook up to a Supercharger? Or is it always going to default to...

    Air Conditioner Recharge Cost, DIY?

Not certain what the Model X fans/condenser situation looks like, but on the Model 3, they're prone to getting jammed up a bit with leaves, grass and other light road debris that can cause reduction in air flow over the condenser and reduce its performance especially on really hot days. I'd say...

Can I refer my wife and get the 20k credits?

We're about to find out. I've had my 2018 Model 3 Performance since December 2018, and just used my referral code for my wife to order a Model X. It's being delivered next Monday, we'll see what happens.

Vendor Ottosteer Fast Release Flush License Plate Mount (uses OEM mount)

What's the magnet size from the discontinued magnetic mount? I have one and still really like it but a couple magnets fell out and I want to replace them. Do you happen to have an item number/vendor you can point me to? Would appreciate it!

Model X price cuts- yet again

The free Supercharging banner is gone from the ordering page for the X when I go to it. I was hopeful they may extend it but not surprised they didn't. We're looking to order here in the next couple of weeks, maybe we'll get lucky and they mark it down a little from the 108k of our current...

Supercharger - Mt. Vernon, IL - 42nd St

This is great news. This closes the last gap for me in terms of 250kW charging stations in the route I drive from Des Moines to Atlanta/Orlando occasionally when I want to pass through St. Louis without stopping to charge in those busy areas but still be able to get to another 250kW station...

You hit something or something hit your mirror. You may not have actually seen it happen, but the mirror assembly didn't just shatter or fall apart on it's own. Same goes for the OP's situation.

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Will 265's fit OK on the 8.5" rim? Through some googling, it seems like the tire manufacturers recommend not going larger than 255's on an 8.5" rim at this sidewall height. If the 265's can fit, I'll definitely go with those. I just don't want to end up at the tire shop with them telling me...

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Hey All - Sorry if this question (or similar) has already been addressed, been searching and scanning these threads for a while to get the answer. I have a 2018 Model 3 Performance with the 20" Sport wheels and stock size 235/35/20 PS4S's. Due to hitting a pothole a couple years ago requiring...

Model 3 Skid Plates - Upgrade from Fiberboard to Aluminum 👍

Highly doubt you'd have enough clearance to reach all the bolts and remove them without raising the vehicle up in some manner. Borrow a hydraulic jack or two from a friend and use pucks to get it up in the air. Jack stands are really cheap.

    Supercharger - Altoona, IA

I'm at the charger right now, looks like all the equipment is still here, no construction going on or anything. I plugged into a couple of the stalls and nothing happens. Car just shows it's ready to charge. Just no power at all. The nav unit in the car says it's a "Temporary Closure."

    Supercharger - Mt. Vernon, IL

Just a heads up, I stopped by this Supercharger last night and 3 of the plugs/handles had been vandalized by having the two main charging pins pulled out of them. Another Tesla driver was there and reported the issue, but not sure how long it may take to repair them. Hopefully whoever did it...

Awesome Model 3 subwoofer boost install

Yeah, price on this? I have the premium sound system but a bit of extra punch would be nice. How did they hook it up? I'm guessing the hookup is part of what you pay for but I'm a DIY type of guy and did a lot of car audio work back in the day, wouldn't mind a new project.

    Geico = gouge-co

State Farm was quick to handle and pay those two claims I referenced above. They were relatively minor repairs performed by a Tesla certified shop that is also a State Farm preferred facility. So they handled the communication between them. I've been fortunate not to have to deal with any...

Wheel spacers for Performance Model 3

This is the 20mm/25mm setup on my 2018 M3P. They're BLOX SPORT spacers and fit nicely over the lip on the hubs and countersunk to allow the stock lug studs to be used without issue. Easy to install, nice and snug, no issues and no other modifications were needed. A good, aggressive look...

    Geico = gouge-co

Yeah, State Farm is really great for my Tesla premiums.....I'm paying about $53/month on my 2018 M3P; I was paying around $65/month for the same coverage on my previous car, a 2013 BMW X3, which was worth well less than half of the Tesla. I keep waiting for State Farm to bump the premiums up...

Any Central Iowa owners out there?

I'm in the Des Moines area. I picked up my Model 3 on 12/15/2018 from the KC location. I've had ranger service a couple of times, just to get my badge/spoiler installed (the car didn't have them when I got it due to parts not being available at the time), and then to get a door seal replaced...

No issues with my 2018 Model 3

I've had my 2018 Model 3 Performance since December 2018; about 28,000 miles and the only thing I've needed service for was a door seal that came loose. They replaced it quickly and easily through mobile service. This thing has been awesome.

2021 Model 3 heater not working

That's really bad news if it's a physical part that has to be replaced rather than an OTA software fix. They're looking at a massive recall, if so.

    Charger Won’t Lock Anymore

Maybe check the manual release cable inside the trunk and see if it's caught on something, or maybe jiggle it and to see if it's jammed and just needs moved a bit. Worth a shot.

MASTER THREAD: USB drives that work with Sentry and TeslaCam

I've had the Samsung Fit Plus sitting in my Amazon shopping cart since making my original post. MASTER THREAD: USB drives that work with Sentry and TeslaCam

Has something changed with the above bolded area about writing at 2mb/sec? Share your positive Tesla Service experience

Last month I scheduled service on the app one night because my car was several updates behind. It hadn't downloaded an update in months but it was getting good wifi signal at home every night. The next morning I got a text from a Tesla service rep saying he didn't see any issues with my car...

Ottosteer Tesla Model 3 Front License Plate Bracket?

I've had my magnetic Ottosteer plate holder for about a year, it's worked great. No paint issues. All the bolt covers are gone, which is slightly annoying, but they're not critical to the point of it: hold the plate without forcing me to damage the front bumper, and allow me to quickly remove...

    Broken top glass

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, in almost the exact same spot on the glass. Don't think it's a matter of fragility - it's glass, it'll crack/bullseye if a rock hits it flush-ish at a good speed. A "standard" roof car would probably end up with chipped paint there that would need to...

How much do you pay for auto insurance?

$318/6 mo with State Farm. I'm in Iowa, full coverage with $0 deductible on comprehensive and $250 deductible on collision. I'm a 40 year old married male, no at-fault accidents on my record and one moving violation, recorded in 2000. I have two other cars insured with them along with a...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

P3D here, still on 2020.12.5, have been for at least a few weeks now. Only real issue since getting on it that I've noticed is I no longer have text message functionality. It doesn't give me notifications and won't read or send texts.
