    Today's Roadster Orphan

From what I've seen, it looks like European cars for sale never bother to post the VIN # of the car for sale, especially big websites like Auto Scout. I wonder why they do that, since the first thing you do in the US is get the VIN and run a Carfax on it.

    Roadster History Europe/APAC

@TEG Can you not tell the difference between Denmark and Norway Roadsters, or are all Denmark Roadsters imported? This website lists all Roadsters registered in Denmark, with VINs, and most of them are listed as Norway on your list. To search for them, you have to scroll down to the list of...

Well it actually has a Shelby County license plate, so that is Memphis.

    Random Roadster Sightings

Found VP23 today. Actually the first Roadster I've ever seen, and the second time I've ever been to a Tesla dealership. It was in for service apparently at the Nashville dealership. Tesla Releases Q2 Safety Report, Adds Vehicle Fire Stats

What I'm saying is, no amount of confounding variables can account for a 6 times increase. So even if you say half of the increase is due to other variables (newer vehicle, safer driving conditions etc.), you STILL have a 3 times increase in safety. So while I agree with you that more info is...

Tesla Releases Q2 Safety Report, Adds Vehicle Fire Stats

If you guys all think that the higher numbers are due to safer environments with Autopilot on, road conditions (confounding variables), just cut the results in half from 3.27 mm, to 1.64 mm. Still 3 times better than ICE vehicles. You cannot attribute 6 times better safety record to just...

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

Again, I'm sorry you (again, the whole forum) feels this way. I have not singled out this forum for any reason, I use all sources that I can. In my opinion, I am legally, morally and ethically allowed to use this information. Again, what is the difference between me posting info, and them...

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

I don't think I have been confrontational, just defensive. If anything, the thread responders have been hostile. By "your" points, I meant the forum in general on this thread. As to why I am doing this, I am a huge Tesla fan, and Roadsters esp. I just like them as vehicles and a company, and...

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

I am not trying to get attention. I just posted a friendly message of what I was doing, and told you how to see it if you wanted to. Then you guys blow up about VINs, and personal information. VINs are public (also posted by you), and I am not using any personal information. That makes both of...

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

First, it is a TOTALLY public app. Every bit of information is public on there. There is no private lists or anything like that. Second, this information (VINs) is public information, and I am not going to stop using public information just because some people don't want me to. Here in TN, the...

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

That is not true. VINs are publicly available information. Look up "license plate to VIN". The reason this is possible, is because VINs are in a publicly available database. This cannot be done in Canada, or UK for example. But in the US, it is legal, and possible to get VIN numbers.

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

I am not collecting personal information. A picture or VIN of a car is not personal information. Neither is a username.

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

You have no privacy after you post it all online. You can't post stuff on a public forum, then complain about no privacy. No privacy on the forum was your own doing, not mine. I am covered under fair use copyright law, look it up. I am sighting the source, and am not using it for commercial...

That's fine if that is what you think. I am complying with your request, what more could you want?

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

Do I have to? It is your choice of username, you didn't have to post your full name. This is the internet, stuff is public. Am I forced to put my whole name as my username to give myself credibility? I don't think so.

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

See my response on your thread. I can use copyrighted images, under fair use law. Even so, I will take down anyone's images that requests such. Howecer, your screen name has no copyright whatsoever, and I will still use it, with no picture.

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

I know how to decode them, what I want to do it to be able to see "this is my Roadster Vin#345", and be able to get the whole VIN.

    VIN#s for Tesla Roadsters

I am cataloging Roadsters and their pictures on an app called VinWiki. I can either use the VIN of the car, or the license plate to get the VIN#. The problem I have, is people refer to their Roadsters as #777, #303, etc, instead of the whole VIN. So I have the 5YJRE part, and the last 7ish...
