    Wall connector keeps tripping breaker

But it’s not dangerous that the fuse box is there, right? Seems overkill, but I’m good with it as long as it’s not hurting my charging (I get 43mile/hr) and it’s not blowing fuses all the time (happens maybe once a year).

    Wall connector keeps tripping breaker

Fantastic, I'll take a look. I will of course kill the breaker at the box if I open that up to check the connections. Thanks!

    Wall connector keeps tripping breaker

AH I see, just a disconnect and not necessarily a fuse. I may install that instead next time the new fuses I bought blow. As long as it doesn't sound concerning and fairly normal, then I'm good with the occasional fuse replacement. And yes, I'm set to 48A on a 60a breaker at the box and a pair...

    Wall connector keeps tripping breaker

Yup… I think code here in LA requires a fuse box or something right before the charger?

    Wall connector keeps tripping breaker

I have a line running from my breaker box, which has a 60amp circuit for my Tesla Wall Connector, and after a 30 foot run, right before the wall connector the electrician installed a fuse box, which then runs to the wall connector. In 3 years, it has blown the two fuses in the fuse box twice...

    Small accident

I do hope you claim against their insurance and get your car fixed. It’s very nice of you to not go after them in the first place, but now that they’re trying to defraud your insurance, I would definitely claim against them for sure. Best of luck and thank goodness it was not a worse accident.

My Model 3 on AutoPilot through very twisty Topanga Canyon

I drove my M3 on AP last year with HW2.5 and then again exactly a year later with HW3 to compare notes. I can't find the video of the entire 2019 HW2.5 drive, except for one clip, but I have uploaded the 2020 entire drive (sped up mostly) along Topanga Canyon and Old Topanga Canyon Blvd entirely...

After FSD 3.0, Summon accident!!! Crashed my bumper and hood

I *think* OP meant that they were stunned and not stoned, but just in case, please don't drive stoned, FSD or not. As far as summon, I can't bring myself to use it beyond forward and back in tight parking spots, otherwise I get far too nervous watching from afar as my car lopes around a parking...

    Ticket for Lane change

If you had a USB stick in the car, but did NOT hit the icon to save the dashcam footage, you may still be in luck. If you mount the USB stick on a computer, on it, you should be able to find a dashcam folder that has a ton of temporary video files in it. When you "save" a dashcam video from your...

Rear Window Full tint problems and negative experience at oakville tesla

Had the same thing with a nice 3m tint. Tesla replaced the rear glass under warranty easy enough, but said they don’t cover cost for tint. Spoke with a few detailing and car guys and they seemed to think of a manufacturer defect caused me to lose my tint job that Tesla should offer to cover it...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Heya, so after I noticed some range loss in the car's display screen, I started using TeslaFi to record charging starting in November of 2019; after 10 months of owning my M3 (delivered 12/2018). Batteries degrade over time, so it's not unexpected. But I'm not sure that it seems as if my m3 is...

Missing my ICE car. . .

Yeah, I hear ya! I sometimes miss the engine noise from my bmw 3 series even now, a year later (I really missed it early on when I first bought the m3, but now just occasionally so), but I do miss the sunroof and the more premium feel of materials inside. However, these all pale in comparison to...

I've loved Tesla for 7 years. But after years of abuse, I'm out

My service center just outside Los Angeles doesn't have loaners but gave me a very generous Uber voucher for the time I was without my car while I had service. It sounds like the OP had a very lovely relationship in the beginning, and I'm sorry to see that has gone away. The deductible is odd...

Finally got HW3 on my AWD LR M3 after 8 months

I ordered the upgrade mid-August 2019. A few times I asked the service center if they had HW3 upgrades ready yet and every time I was told "We will let you know." So I waited. And waited. I had a support issue so I called the 800 number and he helped me fix it (reboot, dummy). Before I got off...

I think I just wasted $7,000 on FSD?

Autopilot is an absolute God-send when in bumper to bumper traffic, I use it all the time during traffic and I'll throw it on for a minute or so at a time when I need to split my attention slightly to change the music, or get my sunglasses, etc. Super useful, you will not regret it.

I absolutely Love driving my Tesla

Yeah the day I picked up my M3 LR AWD I was at a light on a completely emptry road in front of me, and an Inifinity Q50 Sport next to me was revving his engine over and over again. I'd like to say that I smoked him, but there's no smoke involved!! I vaporized him, surprised the hell out of...

Tesla approved body shops refusing cars with State Farm

I have heard from a few Tesla Approved body shops near me in Los Angeles that refuse to take on a car insured by State Farm. My agent found only two anywhere near me (within 20 miles) that they work with and their reviews are not as good as the others, so I’m at a bit of a loss here. Anyone else...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

And now my m3 has gone down to 237. I’ve got TeslaFi running and I’ll post the chart after some more data gathering time. Seems like the drop is not yet leveling off, but perhaps accelerating a little due to the colder night weather. That’s a loss of 15 miles from my peak of 252 (6%) and a loss...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Just hit 240 at this time at 80% charge coming up from 18%. A total loss so far of 12 from its peak. The degradation continues at about the same pace so far. My charge strategy is to 80% with a couple times to 100%. Sometimes I plug in daily sometimes I go a couple to a few days before charge...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yes, so I'm at just under 4% at 11 months and 10k miles (16km), Sad face. I'll take note and update in a couple weeks (or sooner if a big drop happens), if nothing else to memorialize this.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Last Monday it dropped to 242, so now I’m at about a 3% loss of range at the 80% mark (but 4% at the 100% mark since my Max soc is now 298, down from 306 a week ago, down from 310 about 2-3 months ago, a 12 mile loss of range that’s about 4%. I’ve tried all the “battery conditioning” steps and...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Went to Tesla service two days ago and they again tried to re-assure me that this is normal. I am now down to a regular 80% SOC of 242 miles after being down to 20% last night. The technician suggested that I turn on scheduled charging to allow the batteries to "cool off" after a day's drive...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

That’s very close to what I do with my wall charger, but to 80% not 90%. And as I mentioned, I’m at just over 2% loss. Tesla mentioned I should do a 100% charge and run it down, I did that once with no change. I’ll do it again and run down to 20% and see. But I’m fairly sure I’ll be at 245 at...

I charge pretty much exclusively at home to 80% on my Tesla wall charger. I’ve supercharged maybe 4-5 times ever and my last supercharge was maybe 5 months ago. Very occasionally I charge at work off a 120v outlet, this I’ve done me 8-10 times. But only once during this 2 month period of...

MASTER THREAD: Tesla Insurance Services in California

For me in California, I have State Farm for multiple policies from homeowners to life and with two cars and the discounts State Farm was cheaper than Tesla’s online quote by an appreciable margin of several hundred bucks a year. Without the discounts would be a different story.

I installed a 21 panel system after getting 3-4 bids and estimations of how much my roof will generate. Is it worth $3k for FSD for EAP owners

Yeah, I do have EAP and really make use of it. I think having an improved system with hw3 updates is worthwhile even if the feature set doesn’t move up much in the short run. Planning to only use 110 outlet

Completely agree with those that say don't stay with your 11ov outlet. It does no damage, but the time you wait for a charge will drive you bananas after a short while. You will get 3-4miles/hour compared to a NEMA at about 30 or a tesla charger at about 40/hr. Also the mileage you get from your...

How many EAP owners would pay for the 3.0 FSD computer at what price?

Yeah, when I bought the vehicle, FSD was NOT an option, only EAP, so I went with that at $5k, and the Tesla person told me when FSD became an option again, I would only need to pay the $3k price difference. It's not at $6k, so I'm miffed about it. Totally missed it when it was at $2k, didn't...

Home charging with Tesla Wall unit

Wall charger on a 60Amp circuit for my M3 gets 48A charging with 40miles/hr. Unsure of Mx and MS charging rates, but yours seems low to me. Have you access to any other NEMA plus or chargers like ChargePoint to guage how they do? They're usually at 50Amp cicruits I think. SO when I'm on one...

    Best Way to Charge

I installed the wall charger on a 60amp circuit and get 48Amps, because my local utility (LADWP) offered a rebate for the price of the charger (not the install, though) so I went for it. Cost of Fuel Equivalent

One thing for ICE drivers to know is driving style plays a huge part in how much mileage you get.
