    2013 Tesla S60 - SOLD

I'm sure you would be but now that I know that's all they are offering I'm not going to sell. I'm giving up the dream of the 70D and I'm going to ride it out in what has been a GREAT car. I wish I'd never entertained the idea of the upgrade but with WA Sale tax exemption going away 6/30 I...

    2013 Tesla S60 - SOLD

Sadly RonnieKorbas is 100% right! I'm looking to sell my 2013 loaded S60 to get a new S70D before the sales tax savings in Washington expires June 30th and I was SHOCKED how low Tesla's offer was. NADA and Kelly Blue Book both have my trade in value around $61,950 but yesterday Tesla offered...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

Ok, it's been just over a year at 22,000 miles with the Model S The lifetime average Wh/mile is 340. Here is how it breaks down by month. (I'm in the Seattle area so we don't get extreme low temps here and my car is not parked outside) Month / Year Average Energy (Wh/mile) TOTAL: 340...

Mercedes E350 4Matic rental gives me new appreciation for my Model S

I had a new hood installed on my Model S last week after my neighbor backed into my car and his Hertz supplied me with a very nice Mercedes E350 4Matic for 3 days as my rental. First, let me say that I owned a Mercedes C300 4Matic prior to my Model S and I loved it. I considered it an...

    Firmware 5.8

Wow, I'm shocked to hear there is a controversy over the regen on 5.8 because I hadn't noticed ANY difference at all. In general, I love 5.8 because I made the jump from 4.5 and I really enjoy all the new features. Really significant update. Here is the funny thing about the regen...

    60kwh range charge

My S60 with 11,000 miles (delivered March 2013) still reported 205 miles last week after a max charge. I didn't observe the number immediately after it finished charging so it could have actually been a bit higher at some point. Either way, I'm thrilled that my battery is showing very minimal...

If I use my own Slacker account, will I lose functionality?

Question for Bteflyl8e and Phat78boy: how does the play full album functionality work with the Premium account? Do you simply say "Play (album) by (artist)" and it will start playing from track #1 as soon as you select it on the screen?

My First MAJOR problem @ 10,000 km

Umm. ok. Not sure what we are supposed to do with this observation. Perhaps we need a whole thread dedicated to whether or not 200 is a very early VIN but I would certainly say it was. As a person who is driving a new loaner car at the moment I can verify that LOTS has changed in the car...

    Courtesy info supercharging station

I think we almost universally agree that seeing a movie while using a Supercharger is not OK. Even the OP acknowledged it's not OK. I've only used a SC a couple of times but both times I only stayed as long as I needed to get the minimum range I needed and I didn't leave the area.

    Supercharger Spacing

THANK YOU PhilBa, I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm constantly surprised by the number of different topics that some folks on this board find to feel cheated or snookered about. I never would have guessed that Supercharger spacing would become the next item for owners to be agree...

farting noise in "Studio Sound" package - NORMAL!

Come on Kinddog, did you seriously just use the term cray-cray? NOBODY on this forum should be young enough to use that expression. When my 12 year old daughter says cray-cray I feel like I should respond with something annoying from the 80's like "gag me with a spoon!"

Frunk Organizer Box - coming soon at Tesla Gear

They go out of their way to say it's NOT a cooler. Here is what is listed on the product page: Note: Product is not water-proof and does not provide sealed insulation from temperature. Tesla does not recommend using the product as a cooler or as a secure container for items containing fluids.

Extended Warranty Going Up July 3, Will You Buy Now?

REALLY? Wow, thank you very much for the post! That's exactly what I am going to do. Tinted, De-Chromed, and 22PLE Coated

Looks sharp but I don't think I'd pull the trigger on something like this unless they could match the gloss of the black paint a bit more closely. The black pieces that cover the trim appear to be sort of a flat black.

60 vs 85: initial burst, 0-50 or so - how different does it feel?

Both cars will get up and move out in a big, big hurry! The 60 feels great to me and gets lots of wows when I give test drives but P85 will certainly have more to give when you mash the pedal all the way to the floor.

    Liquid Glass

I used Liquid Glass on my Model S because it doesn't have any abrasives and was quick to put on and remove. I was really impressed! I'm not sure if I know how to attach a photo but I'll give it a try here. This photo is the incredible shine/reflection from the hood of my black Model S after...

Should TSLA use/steal/borrow the Karma design for Gen III?

I'm also not that fond of the Fisker design but the good news for people who love it is that you can probably get one pretty cheap in about 6 months! If Fisker fails completely then the car that were exceptionally well cared for might be collectors items that could appreciate but I've...

    Supercharger Announcement 2013/05/30

Why the heck doesn't Tesla offer a TT30 adapter? They are at EVERY RV park and that is certainly not true of 50 amp service. I realize it's only 110 power but it would be able to pull 24 amps at 110 volts if they made an adapter. On a side note, I've been trying to make a TT30 to NEMA 14-50...

    CHAdeMO adapter wait frustration

Let's be clear: They are NOT mutually exclusive. It's a heck of a lot easier/cheaper for Tesla to sell a CHAdeMO adapter in the US that already needs to be developed for Japan than it is to roll out more SuperChargers.

    New Sales/Production Strategy Suggestion

+1 Hate to pile on but I agree with my fellow detractors. Mass production of standard configurations only makes sense when you are trying to anticipate the needs/wants of a fickle public. Pre-sold and made to order makes much more sense.

    Firmware 4.4

Are you using scheduled charging? The reason I ask is that I also used to see 185 every morning on my MS 60 but since I started charging at 4:00 am I have been getting 190 miles of range every morning. I was losing 5 miles of range every night by letting it sit that extra 10-12 hours after the...

I could care less what the handles look like, I'd just love to be able to use those suckers! As far as looking like a gas station pump there is nothing wrong with giving people a form that is familiar and comfortable. In fact, the rather conventional lines of the Model S itself is an attempt...

    Media Announcement 2013/04/26

No, you would not get 8 years out of it because you'd hit the mileage limitation long before the # of years limitation. I also drive over 20,000 miles a year so I also bought the 4 + 4 plan because I knew that 100,000 miles would be here before I know it! So, in the end, we'll still get...

    Wow! Temperature Really Does Matter!

Yeah, we here in Seattle we don't get cold enough to really impact range but the hard rain kills us because we still allow studded snow tires in the winter. These studded tires have created deep ruts on our freeways that fill with water and dramatically increases rolling resistance. We're...

    Official: Model S Service Plans

That was my understanding. You can hold off on the warranty extension later (before the original warranty expires) but I was under the impression that you had to decide on the 4 or 8 year service plan up front. I chose 8 years (100k) since I'm a high mileage driver and I'll blow through my...

Wait, what was the Service Announcement?!? I was still waiting to hear what that was going to be? Was it simply that they were going to offer the Model S Performance as the loaner cars? I hope not, that doesn't seem big enough to justify the hype of "we're going to reinvent our service...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

This might be more appropriate to post in the firmware 4.4 section but generally speaking I'd say that I'm much less satisfied with the wiper speed in version 4.4. Tesla CHAdeMo Update

Exceptionally well stated Chad. The fact that there are already well over 100 CHAdeMO chargers installed (largely in OR and WA) is already reason enough to release the adapter to the US market. It is important to note that these CHAdeMO chargers are not being paid for by Tesla so releasing an...

    Signature Angst

I find this OP very strange. If you wanted a lower priced Model S you certainly didn't have to order a Signature. You knew exactly what price Tesla was asking and you knew exactly what the general production cars cost. There was no mystery there. In fact, the Sig has always been a early...

I had the 9500ci installed on my Model S and I really like it. It really is the gold standard at this time but I'm sure it's a bit more expensive than other competing models. The 9500ci is quite expensive but the hidden custom install is pretty awesome. After seeing DCopperfield's completely...

    Underwhelmed by the technology

The genius of Tesla is the way they have communicated the important pieces of information in a clean, easy to understand format. I absolutely hate that goofy Prius graphic. acceleration goes down with charge level ?

I think this may be the reason why Tesla seems to consistently report 0-60 times that are about 1/2 second slower than what owners and the car magazines are actually seeing. I think they want to be very conservative and report that slightly slower time so a car magazine can't say things like...

What is Tesla's upcoming 'under your nose' announcement?

No way, not me. Parking sensors would be fantastic. There are other solutions for 4G (including tethering to our cell phones which many of us will do anyway). There are no other cheap/free options for parking sensors. I've been told flat out by local Tesla reps that there are sensors in...
