If you don't think Musk is involved in the technical details, I dare you to challenge him on them. He's made fools of everyone who has tried so far. Yes, others do most of the work, but his influence cannot be (reasonably) denied.

Very few Model 3s or Teslas of any sort here in central NY. There are maybe 2-3 others in the general area, I see a red one and a black one occasionally, and someone's got an S on the east side of town. I do get comments, but not all that many. Been getting a few negative comments lately, but...

I stopped there today, didn't see anything anywhere indicating V3, but I was charging at like 367 miles of charge per hour, which is about 3x what I normally get, so yeah, pretty sure they're V3! :)

I don't like to carry my phone all of the time, so yes, for me the fob is essential. I even sometimes say to myself "Self, I don't need no phone - I'm fobulous!" hehe hehe hehe :D:rolleyes::p

So my car just downloaded and tried to install the 2020.4.1 update - but I got an alert that the install failed - what do I do now? Can I retry or do I have to schedule service or what?

Mine was stuck and just now un-stuck itself and installed, I never did get around to scheduling the service appointment. Maybe Tesla realized they needed to re-send or somehow unstick folks? Anyway, I'm good for now...

I've had the update pending for a couple of days now, but it was glitching trying to connect to my wifi so it wouldn't install. Just a bit ago, out of the blue, I got the alert on my phone that it's ready to install; now 80% complete.

Well, I've been meaning to make a service request about this, haven't gotten around to it, but it just now finally connected again well enough to download and start the update, whew. So maybe just wait and it'll fix itself...

Has anyone else had trouble with wifi connecting after the V10 download? There's a newer update trying to download now, but my M3 claims it can't connect - even though from the wifi screen, it successfully connects and I can verify in the web browser that it is. But the software update...

I had one of those show up on the driveway too, I never have found the hole it went to. Now I know to look underneath, thanks!

There's another one coming in Oneonta, about halfway up Rt 88 towards Albany, that might come in handy when it's operational (haven't seen any movement on that lately though).

Enjoy the ride home more than I did - I enjoyed the car, but the 3 hour drive home from Mt. Kisco through that crazy downstate traffic in my new baby was somewhat white-knuckle inducing. :D

I'm 10 months and a hair under 11,000 miles in on my LR RWD 3, have had my share of glitches but the recent downloads have greatly improved those (as well as improved the wiper function). Maintenance costs so far: 2 gallons of windshield wiper fluid and 2 rotations / snow tire swaps. :D

More important for RWD. I in essence do mine 3x a years - putting snows on and off, and rotate summers in August.

On the top row? That would be the Sentry mode button, it's quite new. Not sure it really works yet though. My results have been mixed.

As more superchargers open up, the SR makes sense in a lot more areas as well. Just in the 9 months I've had my Model 3, 2 new superchargers have opened up "in just the right spots" to substantially ease my range anxiety with the LR, as well as making an SR much more feasible in this area. I...

Seriously, if the networking execs aren't scared out of their wits, they're not paying attention. If this is anywhere near spec, it pulls the rug out from under their pricing structures and even their backbone technologies. I'm signing up as soon as it's available here.

If the Starlink service is as capable and cheap as promised, I wouldn't be too surprised to eventually see Starlink dishes popping up on the cell towers... ;) (It could well be a faster cheaper "backbone" service.)

I've noticed an improvement recently as well, just got 2019.12.1.2, but I think the wiper improvements were earlier (or ongoing, perhaps).

Yeah, I haven't heard of too many battery issues at higher temps, and you shouldn't have to worry about cold temp or snow tire range loss. A LR RWD should be perfect for that commute if you can install adequate charging at home.

I run the Tesla app itself on top of BlueStacks (virtual Android app) on Windows 10.

Yes, a 3rd party formatter is required, but it's not that hard. Worked fine for me anyway.

And I don't think reformatting is necessary - just erase the old videos, should be fine.
