My experience with TACC in city driving is that it doesn't reduce its speed gradually (like a human would) when approaching stopped cars at an intersection ahead, but flies onward at full speed, then applies the brakes aggressively to come to a stop, and then stops farther away from the vehicle...

Yeah, like that. But after watching the installation video, I don't think I'm up to tackling a project like that. Why doesn't Tesla simply include such a feature? Cost, I suppose. But it sure would be a handy addition (especially for a car that is billed as a luxury automobile....).

Is there anyone here besides me that would like to see Tesla add the ability to open the trunk with a kick or swipe of the foot? Sure would be convenient when you've got your hands full of stuff. Seems like it would be easy enough to implement given all the cameras and sensors that cover the car.

An update to my question: in a standard car, when one takes one's foot off the brake, the car immediately begins to slow down, but there is no indication of this relative to the brake lights (something I have always thought as illogical: since the car slows down, doesn't it make sense to tell...

Doesn’t the model 3 have blind spot alert on the display like the other Tesla models?

Thanks for your responses. I know the display shows when the brake lights come on, but the lights on the display are so tiny it’s hard for my old eyes to see, except when I actually apply the brakes, when the display lights do seem to glow brighter.

The brake lights come on, of course, when the physical brake is applied. I assume they also come on at some point when braking with regenerative deceleration occurs to let drivers behind you know that you are slowing down. If so, at what point do they come on?

That is crazy. I will try entering a different, farther-away address to see if it causes the nav system to choose the next exit—which would be the exit I actually want....

Is there a way to get the Navigation system to choose a different path from the one chosen? For instance, on my way home on the freeway, it always chooses the exit prior to the one that is most logical and quickest. This is troublesome when I have Navigate on Autopilot engaged.

What makes me uncomfortable is when my X 'sees' another car at least a block ahead turning or crossing the road and brakes unexpectedly, startling me and anyone behind me....It is far too sensitive and I hope the software engineers come up with a tweak soon so I can go back to 'comfortable'...
